Hot take: Darius Rucker's Home For The Holidays album is THE best Christmas album. Period. Of all time. Fight me.
Took this photo early morning in August. Lots of mist, and I mean a lot. It was pretty eerie in person. I absolutely love this campground, and thinking of it helps fight the incoming winter blues.
I've been wondering this for years, but why isn't there a road that goes from say Moscow or Lewiston southeast to Salmon or Challis? If you want to go from Coeur d'Alene to Idaho Falls, you have to either go all the way though Boise and take the scenic route, or drive through Montana. I find it quite ridiculous that the most efficient method of going from point A to point B hasn't at least been considered.
Is it a geographical issue, a funding issue, or are people in Idaho government absolutely clueless?
Edit: Got some good replies, thanks to everyone who did. TL;DR, the area is protected by the Wilderness Act of 1964, and is the largest contiguous wilderness in the lower 48. On top of that, the Sawtooth Mountain Range passes through it. Federally protected land plus incredibly adverse terrain makes this quality of life change improbable at best.
Hello everyone. I’m leaving the Army after 4 years in the next few months and am very interested in Radiology as a career choice. I am not from Idaho but I am very interested in attending school in the state. From what i’ve seen, these two are the only universities that have very good radiology programs. Can anyone who has been in these programs educate me on which one is better or just your personal opinion? It could even just be about the Uni itself and not specifically the rad program.
Hey guys! I am getting solar installed on my house and I've heard of the Rocky Mountain Power WattsSmart program. It seems like a good way to get batteries, but I don't know if I'm missing anything. Anyone have experience with it?
I'm looking for a new high school to go to next year. Do you guys have any recommendations?
I'm a 40 year old guy looking for a ride ASAP to Boise. Can pay cash. Just me and my bags. I have references available for safety
Hello everyone. I am trying to source some Rocky Mountain juniper. I am planning on making my friend a set of chopsticks for Christmas. As a young lad he was sent to a wilderness therapy camp and he carved a lot of it during his time there. If anyone could help me out that would be great. Thanks!
My wife seems to think you’re supposed to eat the potato after you finish the ice cream. I think you stop before the potato and the potato itself is more of a bowl rather than part of the dish. What’s the vote on this?
It was my dad’s, I’m guessing it’s from the 70’s? Just wondering if any of you knew some history behind it.
Hello!
I am an Idaho native, and as such I have always been interested in Idaho's history. Today, I am asking for recommendations to add to my list of controversial figures in Idaho history. Whether it was for political, personal, violent or strange reasons, I want to know about figures who have brought controversy who are native to Idaho or famously settled/acted here!
My current list is as follows:
Claude Dallas
Bo Gritz
Randy Weaver
Bowe Bergdahl
Harry Orchard
Ammon Bundy
Larry Craig
Bonus points if you can just give me some local/regional characters to look into.
Hopefully this doesn't get buried. Thanks!
I am in Idaho. I finished up my friends wedding and now I’m enjoy my last week for myself. What are some things in Idaho I can do alone or maybe with my friends if it required more than one person.
Saw this and thought I'd share it. Not sure if it's been posted here already
