I am thinking of replacing my gas water heater with electric one, soon.
I heard great things about electric heat pump including the rebates. They is 2300$ on some models from Bradford white.
Has anyone installed an electric water heater? What contractor did you use? What has your experience been so far?
Hi all
Our dog groomer is leaving the business at the end of the month. Who do you recommend? We have a mini schnauzer, a boxer, and an Australian cattle dog mix. The schnauzer is obviously the only one who needs a full groom, but the other two benefit from a nail trim and having their glands expressed as well as a bath.
TIA
I know the big christmas in color moved out to the waterpark this year, but there's signs up about drive through lights at the fairgrounds and it looks like they've set up trees... I can't find anything about it online though, anyone got any info?
Recommend a tailor for men’s suit?
I was thinking I'd set up and play some random stuff somewhere downtown, and I was wondering if anyone knew any good spots. If anyone knows of a spot where I could plug gear into, that'd be perfect, but if not I can play acoustic and use my battery mic
Howdy
Husband and I are visiting for the first time next week and would love to get some recs. Our trip is 4 days total with a rental car. Our top priority is checking out neighborhoods with property between Boise to Caldwell. Would also love cafe, vegetarian restaurants and fun activity recs for the area. Thanks!
I’m heading to Boise in February and looking to do a little planning ahead. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
I have gout and had to swear off red meat at the age of 21, I am now 35 and was put on a daily medication to lower my uric acid levels. Well I had a check up today and I can finally say my uric acid level is actually on the lower side of normal.
This probably doesn’t mean much to you but I actually did a celebratory dance and yelled triumphantly when I made it back to the car. I can finally eat a nice thick and juicy delicious burger and it sounds so good I can’t contain myself.
A burger has been my forbidden fruit for 14 years, I have dreamed about burgers and had to ignore ridiculous cravings for so long. I absolutely used to love burgers, I’d get them everywhere I went to no matter what restaurant I would go to… they’re just so amazing and convenient, plus you get to take down a pile of fries or tots with… every kitchen makes a different and amazing burger too it’s just a fantastic piece of culinary greatness.
I apologize I’m rambling I’m just beyond excited right now I feel like I’m floating… I’ve have waited so long for this and had given up hope of ever having a burger grace my pallet again.
So please help me out and give me a recommendation for the best burger you know of, I’m not just talking about a plain cheeseburger… I want something over the top and amazing, this is a celebration that has been waiting for over a decade and I have to ring in this new era of being able to enjoy red meat again with style…
For those of you that say I should start with a steak… I’ll get there eventually after I’ve ran through every burger that this town has to offer.
Edit… Incredible I never would have dreamed of seeing so many suggestions, I was hoping for like 5 maybe 10 at that max. I don’t even know where to start, I do know that my wallet is going to shrink and I’m going to put on some holiday pounds a little earlier than I thought.
There’s a lot of burgers on this list and I’m going to have to get to work… thank you all so much I very much appreciate you!
Edit x 2…
I’ve been looking at menus for far to long today and basically drooling for a large amount of time today I’m finally going to put my phone down and slip into beef filled dreams you guys have been awesome I still haven’t been able to look at everyone’s suggestions yet but I’ll definitely get there…
I have no clue how I’m going to decide where to go first, but I do know I’ll be eating my first burger in over a decade… I haven’t been this excited about something in a while.
Thank you again everyone you are all amazing!
Just like the title says, I'm looking for the best place to donate men's clothes. I'm familiar with the chain thrift stores, just wondering if there may be a better option such as a shelter or charity in the area. I'm a taller and larger man who's clearing up closet clutter. Thanks in advance!
Curious if any of you have worked up there! I saw all the job postings, and I applied to a few different positions for this winter.
But yeah… no car (my last one had the engine blow up a couple months ago. Big sad. Anyway). I heard something about an employee shuttle? I can’t really find any info online about it (just the city bus).
I appreciate any help!
I'll be attending BSU this spring and I live in Star. It's a bit of a drive to BSU so I don't want to go there if I don't have to. There's an event for new students on January 10th where new students can come in and learn about the campus. I'm not really sure I need to go. I'm not living on campus so the only knowledge I really see myself needing are where my classes are, where to park, and where the tutoring/study places are. These are things I either already know or can easily google. On the other side of things it could be useful. To anyone who's been to/knows about BSU's new student orientation event would it be useful to someone like me?
Hey y'all - we are in the Boise area looking to switch internet providers and wondering if anyone is particularly happy/satisfied with their service? Currently we use Centurylink, which has proven to be quite slow, especially at $75/mo (with router rental). Any recommendations are welcome! Thanks!
I’m thinking about making a visit to Boise, Idaho in May 2025. I’m coming from the east coast and planning a solo trip for 2-3 days. Do you have any recommendations of places to visit/food to try in Boise and the nearby area?
I'm coming from Ireland to visit a friend in Boise over the Christmas period, and I'd like to see some kind of sports game while I'm there, but I can't seem to find anything, I'm open to any sport at any level. Anyone got any ideas?
Suggestions for other fun things I could do while I'm there would also be appreciated, thank you in advance!
Currently an undergraduate majoring in psychology and will relocate at some point for advanced education to become a psychologist. Idaho is one of the few states that allows Psychologists to specialize in a certain niche that I'm interested in, and overall the state seems very nature-like and calm, which appeals to me.
Lived in NYC my whole life, hate it here. Too loud, too expensive. I'm relocating regardless to advance my education, Idaho in the long term looked like an interesting place to live.
My primary concern is with the job opprotunities. How are psychologists paid out there? Is starting ones own private practice feasible there or is there no real demand?
I'm looking for recommendations for a bathroom & interior designer to make recommendations on a bathroom renovation and whole-house repaint. Or even the names of some kitchen & bath places that do design work.
I already have a contractor, but the design decisions have always been harder to make and I need some help.
Has anyone else noticed how much louder and more frequent air traffic over Boise is lately? I’ve lived here 23 years, but I find myself woken up at 10pm and sometimes later by very loud planes or helicopters. Are they planning on moving the airport by chance?
My husband and I received notice today that CBH Rental management will be taking over as our new management company for our apartment complex, so I was curious if anyone here has had any experience with them? Our lease ends in July, and we’re fortunate enough to be in a place where we can move if needed so we’re not too worried about renting from them long term. We’re just trying to get some insight on what renting from CBH is like, thanks in advance!!
With the cold weather here, do you know of any bars/restaurants that have a decent number of hot cocktail options? Hot toddy, Irish coffee, etc.
What’s the reason the smoke or smog or whatever is so bad today??
Does anyone have a good contact for a dog sitter who can watch your dog in their house but does not have a dog or cat already? I looked on Rover and most of the people I am seeing have dogs/cats already. My dog is hit or miss with getting a long with other dogs so don't want to risk anything happening. I had a Dogsitter that I loved but they just got a puppy and I have a few business trips coming in the winter.
I've boarded at a kennel before and it was not the right environment for my dog, so I would love to find someone who could watch her at their house.
The fog-like conditions currently
Hello everyone,
I am looking for some opinions regarding experience with local property management companies and if anyone had any recommendations? I am moving from out of state (work is relocating) and am looking for a house to rent. I won’t really be able to come out and look at the home first. I am really worried about being scammed by a fake company or landlord. Any recommendation would be appreciated!

Hi everyone,
I’ll be passing through Boise next week and will have an evening and the following morning to explore. I’m looking for must-visit restaurants (dinner and breakfast/brunch) and any cool attractions or experiences I can fit into my short stay. Open to all cuisines and vibes—bonus points for unique or local favorites!
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
I’d like to find some to make for friends/family for Christmas. Anyone know where to find some? I think it’s sort of like wagyu, where the breed of pig is important. I haven’t seen it at the grocery store, so I’m assuming it’s little more niche. I don’t eat meat so am a little clueless!
