I noticed after a recent update that all the future festival homestead decorations are showing up when you view the decoration collections in decorate mode. Looks like lots of snow blocks, Wintersday JP platforms and beams (candy canes), and ice sculpture sorts of things. I was wondering what kinds of mats people think it makes sense to stock up on early for these. So far I've stockpiled snowflakes, candy canes, eternal ice shards, and most of the glacial mats (cores, shards, slivers, etc.). Any other ideas?
I'm a casual open world veteran of 10 years. After about 6 total hours in WvW (all in the past week), I tilted my very first WvW vet.
I basically have no idea what I'm doing at any given moment. Necro main getting absolutely bullied by mesmers, thieves and willbenders. I was teasing a lone mesmer who was guarding a camp of some sort. Running in and out of a friendly camp because I'm afraid. Well, I accidently baited him into the camp, where I was downed after a brief duel. I was able to do enough dmg for the ogres in the camp to wail on him and down him too. Well, we all know necro downstate meta. I was able to siphon him to defeat. Rallied, bowed over corpse because I'm classy. Proceed to accept random squad request only to be told I'm a trash player who needs npcs to win a fight.
Ngl I didn't even know they'd be helpful. He's the one who was baited by a total noob so who's really the trash player?
I feel like I've made it. 10/10 would WvW again (until I finish GoB. Then we'll see).
Hello! I recently started playing again after a year and a half hiatus and am picking up the creation of Coalescence. I have everything bar the Gift of Desert Mastery, specifically the Funerary Incense.
I remember people saying these are a huge pain to get- Maybe due to a time gate? However I can't remember how or where to get there. Can anyone help me out with the best way as I have 0 and its the last thing I need.
250 Emblems per Gizmo is A LOT
TL;DR :: Could we make x1 [Emblem of the Conquer] >> Tradable for >> x1 [Emblem of the Avenger] to save veteran small group/roamers a bit of a headache?
---
Don't get me wrong, I understand that unless you're a huge WvW Commander / Zerg Veteran, you're basically not going to have enough resources, (and aren't really supposed',) to be able to buy your way through all the infinite Gizmos right away. I myself only have played pretty consistently for 10 years and only have the tickets for maybe 2. But as a ~6K Rank WvW lover who primarily Roams/Does Small-Group stuff I was hoping to be able to grab at least one of them and, I'm actually closer to having 250 [Gifts of Battle] and far closer to having 250 [Emblems of the Conqueror] than I am [Emblems of the Avenger] and I've only ever spent any of mine on Conflux.
If these are only meant for 'Zerging Folks' than I guess also fine I guess? But with ANet going on and on in both their blog posts and preview streams about how "We want to support the diverse ways that people play World vs World" could we maybe add a tab to convert Conquer or even GoBs' over to Avenger?
I'm not saying it's a perfect fix, but as someone who's also a free-agent, but who none the less likes WvW clearly to a borderline unhealthy degree I have to assume I'm not alone here and there might be others in the same boat. Thanks for reading/considering if you did. It's nice to have functional long-term goals to work towards either way!

Hello everyone,
I have a question about optimization... My computer has the maximum recommended requirements to run this game smoothly. However, the moment I join in on big events, my PC just can't seem to handle the pressure. My FPS drops from 65- 67 FPS to about 33 FPS. I have eliminated "shadows" and "reflections". The minimum viewability of other people ( and the amount of other people) has turned to very low. I also game with a LAN- cable so the ping is good. Anyway, any tips or recommendations to gat a better FPS?
Thanks in regard!
Anet once again stirs feelings of sadness and nostalgia in me, making me cry like a grown man burdened with unspoken emotions and unresolved paternal matters that I will never express to them. I wish I were the one receiving those words right now.
...Silly me I guess.
Thank you Anet u/Guildwars2 for this emotional journey.
I don't really do much content other than PvP atm and I dont have friends for raids/fractals. I don't play much GW2 but I just found that I'm pretty close to legendary armor through PvP.
I can get all requirements with ease, with the exception of the t3-6 mats required to make gift of condensed magic and gift of condensed might.
How do you guys get your mats? do you just make gold and buy them off market? do you farm them? whats the best way to get 6 of them for armor?
Having done map comp recently, I was reminded how much fun it is to explore the OG maps, but I had this persistent feeling throughout that it would be really fun if there was a challenge mode. Something that is optional to turn on when loading into a zone. It would be so cool to have the map load completely fresh and do a challenge run, where you have no mounts, all the enemies are veterans or elites, and they hit hard enough to make you really strategize.
We could have rewards for hearts and completing the map scale to something more in line with modern metas, and I think it would be a really fun way to revisit old content! Kind of a vanilla WoW mode with extra difficulty and rewards.
Thoughts?
If I make both Sunrise and Twilight, and make sure NOT to bind them to myself or my legendary armory, when I throw them into the Mystic Forge to make Eternity will it unlock their skins in my Wardrobe without binding the Eternity to myself so I can still sell it on the TP?
Normally there is a 50% sale in November. I guess this year when i actually need it its not happening?
Do you guys think the game could make use of new classes instead of providing new weapons?
I just want to say thanks to the devs! It is puggable! It’s much nicer than the strike nm. I was worried it might be too easy. But it’s perfect. It’s a raid. This is end game. No free hand outs. It’s a respectable fight with some neat mechanics.
I made the lfg group and people were quick to join and were just as excited as me to play the new raid.
We did not use voice. And were able to kill Greer and Decima. Got too late for final boss but I will pug in the week end. I also heard it is simpler than the first two.
It took a lot of wipes initially to come up with good strategies. But the entire group was discussing mechanics in chat. Even guild chat was buzzing with everyone sharing their experience. It was so nice to figure it out like a puzzle.
The first day blind prog was amazing and the raid community really does love raiding!
i recorded the core builds i saw besides me in ranked NA pvp since the last big update, spanning from high silver to low gold:
40 matches
9% ± 3%

I think it's really obvious that flipping objectives can be done too quickly with very little effort. If people care about winning the game mode at any point, I'm confident the strategy will develop to be the blob holding the entry point of the structure while 5 people template swap to a setup like this and one-shot the lord. This took very little planning and practice to execute.
Why the KITTEN does the supply get cut off your warclaw if you go to fast when you get a LITERAL BUFF to get faster during the entire convergance and the whole POINT of the warclaw is to dash through stuff and be fast?
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but I just dont get it, it just feels like anet hates fun.
Overnight crew wiped out EBG overnight.
All keeps paper at 7AM pst.
It's 4PM pst right now. ONE of the teams finally got a T3 WP at their keep. (My team probably wont get one for another couple hours).
We will have gone without a WP far longer than we will have a WP before the overnight crew erases the maps again.
Neither team has wiped out the other team's keeps all day. This is just the pace of rebuilding.
ANET: Choose one...
Otherwise all you're doing with this change is basically forcing every single player in WvW to have to run farther just to play the game.
Y'all should have data on things like this. Run the numbers. Search your feelings. You know this to be true.
/soapbox.
Edit: And now my team may lose their keep at T2, which means we will go an entire day without a waypoint.
Edit edit: Mendon’s Gap was held for 12 hours today and only hit T2 and 30/60 to T3. 12 Hours
Edit x3: anecdotal, but I’ve never felt EBG so dead. There are virtually no roamers and I basically stopped looking for small fights. My conjecture, aside health pool changes, might just be that never seeing your buildings tier up is super discouraging, especially if another team is tiered. Creates a feedback loop where the team with the most momentum going into the afternoon just winds up winning the day and no one challenges. Only been one day so who knows.
It was one of the defining aspects of GW and something that set it apart from other games. Why didn't they continue that?
I bought gems for my recent birthday specifically to buy the wolf griffon that is supposed to come out on the 22nd of November. I have been waiting for this mount since I missed its original release by a short time frame. (About 6 months ago)
It was supposed to be releasing on the 22nd of November according to guildJen. However, I have noticed that some of the mounts that were supposed to release later in the month, released yesterday. Now I’m worried that the wolf griffin will not be releasing at all or later than expected.
I will not lie, I unlocked the griffon specifically to get this mount, so the thought of it not releasing is giving me a lot of anxiety, lol.
Hi ArenaNet
With the hype around Wing 8, I would really like to go in there multiple times a week, to test out mechanics, figure out new strats, etc.
Could we please please please have the option to ignore our previous progress of the week (e.g. a cleared instance) and open a fresh one instead? Basically expand upon the popup that there currently is and allow us to choose which type of instance we want.
That would be awesome, thank you!
Like every single time there's a fluctuation in anything, the bots are immediately on that and won't let you buy out their 1/1 listing or order. It's infuriating for someone who's legitimately just trying to make a flip.
