/r/Gw2WvW
I originally intended to keep the sub private for the two days but ended up mirroring /r/guildwars2 which remained private for a full week. As the main sub opened up earlier this week I intended to follow suit but got distracted by some IRL stuff. Amazingly even our little nothingburger of a sub got the cease and desist letter from reddit admins today.
So we're back but in restricted mode. As I mentioned in the original post I am a RiF user and wont be transitioning to the official app, which means much less time on reddit. If we want to keep this sub open, we will need a new mod to help out.
If you have an opinion on the future of this space please comment and discuss here.
We're obviously a very small sub with little to no activity, but I nonetheless feel it is important to join /r/guildwars2 and the broader reddit protest against API changes that will kill third party applications. I'll take the sub private tomorrow June 12 to the 14th. If you don't know what's going on yet, check literally any other sub for details.
Additionally, I am a long time RiF user and as such will not be on reddit much in the future. If anyone wants to be a moderator to help keep this sub clear of spam in the future please message me. Basically no time commitment just keeping an eye on reports and removing spam.
is it normal for a soulbeast to crit 35k in Charge with rock gazelle?
in wvw a soulbeast used it on my character, and it was just a hit, that's weird. And me with cel build.
Hi,
Returning to WvW and GW2 after a 2 year break, my server has been pretty inactive, for example on Saturday night there wasn't a tag until 9pm and even then it was just for the sake of it, no discord commanding or anything like that.
So my question is which servers are most active in EU?
A bit of a rant, but it irritates me when multiple people will wait at camps right outside of spawn and kill anyone who tries to cap the camp.
They're really scummy about it, too. They'll hide out of sight until the person has used abilities to kill the guards, and they're never solo players. They don't 'just want to fight' because they're not in PVP, and everything they do slants the fight in their favor.
It's frustrating and frankly a terrible use of their time for all reasons except they like the power trip of downing another player without having to earn it.
Pretty much a newbie to WvW but have done a bunch of PvP in other games so I get the gist.
Looking for a guild that would be happy to help a noob (although I do make sure to Google and Wiki before asking stuff).
Why the hell is thief so favored by devs in wvw roaming ?
Why did they overload 1 class with so much mobility / evade spam / blind spam / stealth ?
Do they not realize this sort of utterly bad balance is going to lead to bad reviews ?
I wouldn't suggest this game to anyone because of the poor balance they do.
Actually I find myself actively discouraging anyone who wants to play this game (esp in wvw) .
There is just no point when 1 single class is overloaded while all the rest struggle.
No other class can bamboozle even 4+ people for indefinite amount of time and get a free out of jail card when things get hairy by porting on the other side of the map in 3 sec
For anyone wondering what the fps situation is in WvW large scale fights on the AMD AM5 platform here are some clips. The fps monitor is on the bottom of the screen. This footage is at 1440p. Fps typically drops to high 40s to low 50s when the action gets going. There's 4 fights with one wipe, got the settings I use at the end of the video.

We all know that we have a t1 problem... its just such a major issue now with certain servers WHO WE ALL KNOW... I wont be the one to say it but YOU GUYS KNOW.... but these servers have consistently ranked among the top, with their players utilizing overpowered builds and strategies. It is clear that something needs to be done to address this issue and level the playing field for all servers.
I was on facebook playing one of my favorite games, after i logged in to see a completely one sided battle in wvw and i got this idea... The solution that I propose is the implementation of a WvW farmville minigame. This minigame would allow players to farm resources and gain bonuses for their server in WvW. The idea is that by encouraging players to focus on resource gathering, it would take away from the emphasis on overpowered builds and strategies.
This minigame would also provide a new and unique aspect to WvW, making it more enjoyable for players who may not be as interested in the traditional combat aspect of the game. Additionally, it would give players who may not have as much time to devote to WvW a way to contribute to their server... The game would be available on mobile phones and through Facebook. This would make it more accessible to players who may not have a computer capable of running Guild Wars 2. It would also allow players to easily log in and manage their resources on the go.
The implementation of this minigame would require careful consideration and planning, but I believe it has the potential to greatly benefit the WvW experience for all players.... Furthermore, this minigame could bring a demographic change to the games future by making it more accessible to a wider audience and potentially attracting new players to the game.
I urge all members of the Guild Wars 2 community to consider this proposal and join the discussion on how to address CERTAIN server's overpowering presence in WvW.. As always, I am open to any and all suggestions and ideas on how to improve WvW for all servers. Let's work together to make Guild Wars 2 a fair and enjoyable experience for all players... Thank you for your time and consideration.
How do we feel about the recent change? I am not a huge fan of the stab loss but it hasn't hit us too hard.
I was worried going in that wvw would go back to the vanilla two-guards-per-party meta.
