Greetings. I have been playing GW2 for a while now and collected some event items from this holiday event and some other event i dont remember what its called. I also have 1 lvl 80 character and 1 lvl 40 character. I just own the pof and hot expansions and wondering if i can transfer the steam progress to Anet and then buy the expansions or if I should just restart.
Since Steam sales is where, I am thinking of buying the DLCs in this game. Is there a difference between Arena Net and Steam?
What should I be buying?
Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure - Standard $19.99
Elder Dragon Saga—Collection: Standard $49.99
Looks like the same price on Steam?
I ran into this player that appears to have quickness inside the JP. I assume it is an exploit?
So I myself played til EoD, managed to finish the story but didn’t do much collection/achievement. Recently, my partner has been expressing interest on mmorpg, since im been off for so long and probably would want to start a new character , I just wonder if the experience for new players would hold up?
Thank you!
Hey!
I want to create a Charr with two Axes which are pretty large and I'm looking for some easy items to obtain - so basically items from the Trading Post or some other fast and easy axes to obtain.
Any recommendations?
Thanks!
So after many years of character switching I’ve finally decided on what class/classes I’ll be focusing on. My question now is about the story.
How long would it take for me to complete the entire story from LWS1 up to the current JW patch. During my time playing I’ve only ever completed the main story, HOT & EoD.
I’ve also started to get into build crafting so would love to get some opinions on this build. [&DQILHQQpEjlwAHAA1xIAAKkAAACvAK8AwhKcAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACBQAJAQA=] The main issue I find is that my adrenaline generation is very low compared to the QDPS build I run, though I can get 100% uptime on multi target
I ran the snow man group dungeon thing last night and had a hard time seeing any of the visual clues the boss gave to know when to dodge over everyone’s skill and spell effects. Are there any ways to remove or minimize seeing effects that are not mine or targeting myself?
In the toypocalypse event, I have a hard time targeting toys that have gotten too close to defenses. Is there a way to target the nearest mob?
What's your favorite achievement weapon skin that is not a legendary? Mine is Eternal Blade because of GW1 :)
What is the meta comp currently? What are the most important thing to look out for when building a comp for WvW currently?
Hey there o/
We are CRS guild which recently shared an Elementalist stack on Temple of Febe CM.
One last Challenge in the game that was yet to be done on Temple of Febe strike was Legendary Challenge Mode combined with Embodiment of Sins Title. The difference compared to a regular LCM kill is that we have to handle two additional empowered mechanics in the second half of the fight:
If you played Cerus in the early days or watched World's First race, you are probably familiar with the Triple Greens puzzle, which repeatedly wiped many groups. In the (normal) Challenge Mode, the mechanic can be cheesed by using Rebound on two Tempests, which lets you skip solving the majority of Greens. In the LCM, this does not work.
In the case of Empowered Gluttony, we have to deal with much more orbs flying to the boss. It's essential we collect them all because they give Barrier and extra stacks to the boss, increasing his damage to us, which is already very hard to survive in the final phase. The tradeoff is that each orb you collect gives you a permanent debuff, which damages you for 350 flat damage per collected orb. Many players can end up with 8-9 stacks (3k extra Healing pressure each second), which can get out of hand quickly. This mechanic is more straightforward on CM because the stacks are not permanent.
On top of those, Cerus gains buffs quicker in the final phase, Malices and the Boss have much more HP compared to CM mode. All these factors combined made it seem to many that this kind of kill is impossible.
How did we go about it?
Triple Greens were just a matter of practice but Empowered Gluttony was a big struggle to survive at 10% with a standard EoS composition (Scourge + Chrono + Tempest healers). However, there is a trick that works for both CM and LCM. Usually, three players need to collect the Orb for it to disappear. If two orbs are collected rapidly, the second one is deleted. We decided to use two Heal Chronomancers with Blink to make it easier to execute. It helped our DPS players to end up with 2-6 stacks at 10% phase rather than 8-9.
On top of that, nearly all of our teammates have experienced hundreds of CM/LCM kills, and our members hold the vast majority (if not all) of ToF records both in kill time and personal DPS. This was vital to consistent runs and phasing the boss early to skip extra Gluttony collection phases. The progression took us 5 hours 53 minutes in 54 pulls, not including the downtime, strategizing, etc. We couldn't have made it without the help of many fantastic backups: Alex, Bear, BlastFM, Julixx, REMagic, and Tequila.
We would also like to give a shout-out to the NA team, who are also progressing in this challenge and are very close to the kill.
Let's hope Wing 8 brings such interesting challenges as well!

I started to play at release but left the game after getting at max level, I used to enjoy a lot WvW. I want to return but I want to concentrate on PvP and WvW, is it worth it? I don’t have much free time so I’m not interested in the PVE endgame content. Can you play only PvP and WvW and be effective without doing PVE endgame content?
Hi everyone, I've returned to guild wars 2 after a long time and I'm looking for some YouTubers who play gw2. It could be any content, preferably long form. So, who are your favourite content creators?
I have this very annoying “Special price” banner right where the TacO button is. Does anyone know how to move either of these? Alternatively, is there a default key bind for opening the TacO settings so I can change what it’s displaying?
Yesterday i just got the berseker specialization , it seemed fine but when i fightened more enemies i feel like i lack defense, i have a full exotic armor , a few pieces from it are "berseker" my weapons are exotic "bersekers" my amulet trinket and rings are not that good theyre exotic with random stats pretty much. Someone told me i should aim for "marauder" armor since it gives defense but i dont know what to do, any tips to improve my build? I wanna add i am a new player and i just got my first elite spec (berseker) , im loving it, it deals great dmg but its hard since i feel more squishy now , before i had the healing signet and the healing passive skill ,i was able to tank more , now it just seems hard to stay in the frontline. Help pls
My friend likes the game, but he's rather upset axes only come as 1h weapons.
Just played four games at 3am and back to back to back to back people were leaving the game last minute to make either side lose, even if they were in a 450/200 lead. It's honestly impressive. Upon checking the players that benefit from this they are only like top 100 despite their efforts.
Guess the takeaway is not to queue at night times..
hey guys
recently started playing guild wars 2 again - which english speaking / eu server is the most active at the moment? seems like i cant join the "full" servers sadly..
I was just wondering if The Juggernaut is the only weapon that changes the players characters armor (adds a metallic coat over it) or are there any other (legendary) weapons that have a similar effect?
I looked at https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cosmetic_aura, but even The Juggernaut is not listed there...
Hi there, I'm playing through LW S1 right now, just finished the molten furnace, and it feels like each part is sorta glacial. Am I missing something? I was wondering if I should play with a group instead to make it faster, or maybe if the pace picks up later. I would like to go through the rest of the story in order and start going through the expansions eventually, but each time I play through another phase of the living world it feels like it takes a long time, I feel like I'm grinding instead of having fun. Just curious if this is a common experience.
I've been playing on and off (way more off) for a while now, but I've recently started to dig deeper (almost have a full ascended set). I am working on my SkyScale, the LW4 method, and I'm wondering if you have any tips on how to do it more efficiently.
I just did the Skyscale scales collection and I was alt tabbing between the wiki guide and the game to get from scale to scale and I couldn't help but wonder if there was a better way to do this.
Next I have putting out fires, life in the underworld, and cutting weeds, and obvi more collections after that. Any tips or methodologies are welcome :)
I have been playing GW2 via the native client on PC where I have a login/account directly with ArenaNet. One day, I saw it pop up as being advertised in Steam (didn't know it was there) and it occurred to me this would be a good option to play on Steam Deck.
My question is, is there any way to log into my existing account? As far as I can tell, I'd have to create a new account which would be completely separate from the ArenaNet direct one. Is that accurate or am I missing something?
