I really like the overall look of this bed, especially the head board. After doing some research it seems to be extremely subpar for the price and I don't particularly like how it is held together by ratchet straps. Is there any place to find the metal hardware that would give me the same look? I'm pretty confident that I (with the help of my carpenter father) could build something similar for much less. Any leads would be much appreciated! :)
I'm looking for an L sectional and considering these two options:
Does anyone have either and can share their experience/opinions on comfort, quality, and longevity?
Thanks!
I’m moving into a beautiful home with unfortunately a small master bedroom and minimal closet space. I’m on the hunt for a queen bed with storage drawers - ideally 2 on each side rather than 2 at the foot, in order to maximize storage space, and not the mattress lift up kind.
I love both the reflections collection from Scandinavian design($3k), and Lenia from Article ($2k) - but trying to see if I can find anything at a lower price point since I’m furnishing an entire home right now and trying to save where I can.

I am also ok with upholstered options, though ideally prefer wood. Just don’t want it to look like a teenager or college student dorm room with the storage component!
with the width of a medium Stressless. I'm tall and quite lanky, and the large was absolutely lovely other than the armrests feeling miles away. Any companies that make similar quality recliners for skinny people? No price cap.
Edit: I'm in the UK
I am looking for a small cloud-like sectional for my sitting room in my main bedroom. I found one I like, but I don't understand the specs. I tried to research foam density, but couldn't really decipher what all the numbers mean lol. This is the specs for the sofa. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated!
Internal Seat Material:28D Foam+10cm Pocket Spring
Internal Backrest Material:28D Foam
Maximum Load Bearing:800LBS
Hey, I’m looking to buy a patio set with some sort of fire pit. I found good deals at home depot (Canada). Does anyone here know if these are worth the price tag? Not looking for a lifetime set, just something that’s comfy and durable.
Hey everyone,
I’ve got the Anton sofa from Article, and the covers are labeled “dry clean only.” The fabric is 100% polyester, though, so I’m wondering if anyone has had success washing them at home. Thinking of trying a cold wash cycle, but wanted to check in here first to see if anyone’s already tested it out—don’t want to risk shrinkage or damage.
Would also be open to suggestions on sofa covers that would fit on my Anton sofa
I'm 6'5" and 300lbs, I need a manual reclining chair that's at least 72" fully reclined(77" would be ideal). I've looked high and low on the internet and Ashley is the only place I could find a chair big enough for me within my budget (I don't have good credit).
Last week I ordered the Brideline chair from Ashley furniture and it's supposed to be delivered November 8th. But after reading some posts here on Reddit, idk if I want to go through with it.
I've been buying used chairs but they're never big enough and they end up causing me back pain after a few months because the people I bought them from have already gotten good mileage out of them.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for where to purchase a Big & Tall chair from? Thank you for reading my large post, have a great day.
Looking for a credenza/console/buffet whatever you want to call it!! Something closed with storage that comes already assembled and is under $1,000. It can ship in a box it doesn’t have to be white glove delivery. I don’t want to spend much because this is a temporary piece that probably won’t be used for more than a year or so. Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone,
I just bought a house with two living rooms. I've got a no-name sectional that I picked up for cheap at some outlet store. I don't love it. I bought it because it fit the space and was cheap. I want to spend some more on quality furniture and want to start at a sofa. I've done some research so I'm looking for reviews and any other brands I should check out.
Rule 4 stuff-
I'm in Houston, TX. I'd like to stay under $3500 but my absolute max is $5000. Either online or in store. I can wait for something custom but not like 6 months.
what i don't want -
a sectional or a sleeper. Need a couch that is 100in or less length-wise.
nothing I have to fluff often.
No sofas that look like they'd be under the plastic at grandma's house.
No roll arms. I really dislike them for some reason.
What I want
machine washable covers so fabric, deep and soft cushions and something durable.
what I have looked at
Dreamsofa - this seems to hit most of my requirements. There are almost too many styles I like. My hesitation - I would want to upgrade the cushions to plush, which is medium firm. May not be soft enough?
Pottery Barn - I'm overwhelmed with options. I like the look of the Dream, Dream Lounge, PB modern comfort, Pearce. any thoughts/opinions?
Crate and Barrel - I see the lounge recommended a lot and would be interested how they compare to pottery barn
IKEA- Kivik? Finalla? but not sure if it is soft enough
Arhaus, Benchmade Modern seem too expensive and I can't figure out if Mantle is machine washable.
any opinions on Quince?
Am I missing any brands I should be looking at? any reviews on any of the above? I'd appreciate any help possible!
edit: typo. I do want fabric
I am really like the look and design of the Thuma bed frame. As a renter, I like that it comes together and apart so easily. I also really like the minimalist look but I am having a hard time rationalizing spending almost 2k right now. I do believe this would be a forever piece and I would hate to spend 1k or more on something that won’t last. Can anyone recommend a bed frame that is a bit more budget friendly?
I have one wall that a piece of furniture can go on. We like a section and we both like to put our feet up. We do not have a coffee table and we do not want an ottoman.
I'd like a u-shaped sectional/sectional with double chaise, etc. I'm hoping to avoid modular sectionals as I've read not so good reviews of them.
I'm willing to pay good money for a good product. I've only found the style I'm seeking from Pottery Barn and similar stores but I've read that those type stores aren't necessarily high quality.
Anyone want to point me in the direction of a good quality furntiure brand that has this style of couch?
I'm looking for a new couch and I want a 3 seater power reclining sofa. Cupholders and center-flip consoles are nice as well as other bells and whistles, but I'm tired of looking and just want a point in the right direction to a brand that will last. Apparently Flexsteel is not that brand anymore, so I'm looking for some guidance.
Leather is preferable, but honestly at this point I just want a new couch. Thanks.
I currently have the Z gallerie extra deep Ventura couch. I have had it for about 6 YEARS. It held up absolutely great! It’s actually still great but I am moving and it’s time for a change. Can you recommend a similar style and high quality couch ?
Dream piece is a stretch, we’re looking for our first set of living room furniture together.
We’ve been going to all the different stores and haven’t made any progress on getting living room furniture for our new place. We’re looking for an L shaped sectional with a chaise on one side in the configuration visible in the picture above, the couch rounding the corner and having one more seated space before the chaise.
Our only limits on size is the chaise side/depth can’t be more than ~93 inches, so total length along the outside of the sectional being ~120” x ~93 inches.
We’re towards northern Virginia, we’ve been to Value City, Ashley, some local stores, Habitat for Humanity, and are planning to go back through them again. We tried one at Costco but now they’ve taken furniture down through New Years.
We know this budget won’t get us quality furniture, we’re just looking for our first set together to last a few years, any advice pointing us in a direction is appreciated!
So my friend gifted me a computer chair a while back which was a very nice gesture. I was a little bit concerned because I wasn't sure how well it would hold up against my weight. It's held up pretty well even though the thing that raised the chair up kept going down. It didn't really bother me though so I just left it down and it was fine. Until this moment when I was leaning back (nothing I haven't done before) when all of the sudden, the plastic for the arm of the chair snapped and is completely broken. There's no way I'm able to fix that. So I'm wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for computer chairs designed with heavier people in mind.
Looking for some help and first person feedback.
My partner and I are looking to make sure that our offices can also function as guestroom as the need arises.
At first, I was looking at wall/murphy/library beds that double as bookshelves, but I have yet to find one that fits the room.
I also was looking into Cabinet Beds, and also Sofa beds (though admittedly on the latter I would only really go high end, there is one I thought looked really nice from DreamSofa).
Does anyone have any insight on the comfort factor for either of these? Could definitely make or break my decision!
In searching, I can only find reviews on and off reddit comparing full wall beds (that use actual mattresses) as blowing sofabeds out of the water, but not Cabinet beds (that are basically sofabeds that fold into a cabinet instead of a sofa).
Overwhelmed trying to find a reliable store for getting all new furniture for the bedroom (bed, dresser, night stands).
Want wood headboard, not fabric or cane due to allergies and maintenance. Like modern styles and lighter/warmer/neutral colors of wood (definitely not traditional). Some character to pieces is nice too.
Doesn't need to be super solid, heavy wood but also don't want particle/enginnered wood.
Struggling to identify brands that are reliable and not have complaints. All the above listed brands seem to have mixed reviews. Suggestions please? Online ones ok too. 5-10k budget. Big investment so would like to spend wisely. Thanks a ton!!!
We are looking at buying a new sofa and a couple matching chairs for our living room. We are concerned with comfort and durability of the frame and the cushions. We’ve looked at and are considering options from Pottery Barn and Ethan Allen and I’m wondering if anyone has thoughts on the difference in quality between these two choices?
Based on past bad experiences we are only interested in buying sofas/chairs we have actually been able to sit on and try, and our city has these two stores available. We do not live in a large city with more options and do not want to buy any furniture we have not had a chance to try ourselves.
Thank you!
Hi everyone,
My wife and I finally live alone, and we are redecorating our place. We are looking into couches, and let me say the search has been difficult. We had settled on the idea of a SixPenny couch, but found several very negative reviews on here, and while they have a showroom, they don't let you in unless you're a designer. So we decided to pass on that. While searching around for similar couches, I went back to my first instinct which was looking for a couch with a wooden frame.
I found this couch in Japan: and I'd say this is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I don't think they'll ship to the US, and if they did it would probably cost nearly as much as the couch. This one for a 3 seater is just over 3k, and looking into the background a little bit this seems to have impeccable build quality.
I should state, I'm in NYC, and while I have access to some of the top designs in the world... it just doesn't seem like this type of design is popular in the US at all. Does anyone know of any designers/manufacturers that make a simple couch like this one with exposed wood?
I've gone through a variety of search engines trying to track something like this down, but I feel like search engines are pretty terrible these days. I just see the same results over and over again. I'm hoping someone with a little bi
I don't mind ordering online, but a showroom would be greatly appreciated as I'd love to see the couch before I buy it. I'm aware that I was/am prepared to buy this Japanese couch without doing that, but only because I'm in dire straits and looking at the about page for the manufacturers sold me pretty hard.
