I am working on designing the interior of a used book store. I have some ideas for what I am hoping it will look like, but I am wondering if there are names for the style I am going for that I could use to help my search and gather inspiration. Given it is a used bookstore we want it to have a thrifted vibe, equal parts thrifty and modern. Definitely pops of color, but not quite like eclectic maximalist. We want it to be warm, welcoming, but clean and not cluttered and not dark academia. Something that appeals to a broad audience. I am not sure if there is a name for what I am looking for, but was just hoping someone could help me narrow down search terms!
What should I do about the white paint on the top face of the skirting board, I was thinking run a Stanley blade along it in line with the blue wall and then use a paint scraper so clear excess, any thoughts? I’m not a professional as you can tell from the quality and this is my first time haha.
Hi! Just finished doing a feature wall. What kind of painting should I hang up on the opposite side? The rest of the walls are beige.

Hello everyone! I am developing a series of home environment products as part of my university project and am gathering data on the target and user group.
It would be of immense help if you could spare a few minutes of your time to fill in the anonymous survey! :)
Thank you in advance! Have a lovely day :)
Hello redditors,
I need an advice for hanging pegboard to the wall without drill any hole. I'm thinking about cheap frame hanger like this, but my pegboard have the size of 120cm x 40cm, I'm afraid that those cheap frame hanger won't support it weight. Any recommendation is welcome, I'm new to decoration btw
I'm looking for a standing desk in cyber monday sale that my wife and I can share. Since I'm 1.9m tall, it needs to be super adjustable to fit my height. I've got a lot of gear to fit on it too - 2 monitors, a laptop, keyboard, and wacom tablet. my wife occasionally joins me with her laptop. I'm thinking of Autonomous or Flexispot. Any suggestions would be awesome, thanks in advance.
Vendors in CA or US would be fine
I bought this Tv stand a little while ago and I have no idea what to do with the shelves (especially the top ones) any advice or ideas would be appreciated, Thanks!
I am horrible at putting together cohesive home decor. I end up buying things that don’t match and my home feels like a modge podge of different styles and colors/textures when I try to decorate for the holidays. Can someone recommend a collection or brand that ties everything together well? I need tree decor, wreaths, table scapes, garland, stockings… all the things that I am hoping I can buy in one place and know it will match and look put together. I like classic and neutrals with maybe some pops of color- I am loving the new velvet red wreaths out right now. Any help or tips or links to just buy everything that will work appreciated. 🤣🙏
Hello Reddit community! I think this is my first post EVER, so thank you in advance for any advice you can send my way.
This is our family’s second Christmas in our mountain home that we built starting in 2020. Last year we were only a few months moved in, so I didn’t do much in the way of holiday decor. This year, we’ve got the tree up in the entryway and the staircase banister decked in garland, but are trying to figure out what to do with this loft banister that overlooks our family room.
The banister is about 15 feet wide with three “sections” as you can see in the picture. We want to decorate it for the holidays to cozy up the family room overall, but don’t necessarily want to do the same garland we used on the staircase banister (you can’t see either from each other at any point in the house).
Any advice on what to put here? Wreathes? Paper snowflakes? Something else? Open to any and all ideas!
What should I do with this space?? It’s so awkward. My house has built in bookshelves and this is right in the middle under my tv. I want to hide the ugly cords and power strip, but it’s my most used power strip and I need access to it. Does anyone have any advice? I’ve been experimenting with this area for 3 years to no avail!
I recently got this cabinet and want to paint the white area either a light pastel blue or dark blue. What type of paint should I be looking for at a DIY store to do this? Please let me know thaanks!
bought a rug from ruggable but i dont think the blue works well. they make the same rug in this brown darker tone and im gonna up the size from the 8x10 to 9x12 as it seems sorta small. what do you guys think? for the couch im thinking either a light grey or the stock picture light brown? it would be alove seat and sofa combo
I can’t decide what to put in this little spot by the microwave - it’s begging for something fun and interesting and can be seen from the living and dining areas.
I can crochet and am always up for a simple DIY project. I’ve thought of maybe a hanging fruit holder, some small shelves, etc. I don’t want to put spices or plants there because it’s right above the stove and right next to the microwave. Would love any ideas or suggestions!
Hey all, I have an extremely indecisive teen. She wants to decorate a blank wall in her room with posters. About 2 large and perhaps a few smaller ones. We would frame them. She was thinking of something related to music or style. She is 16 and loves the vintage feel but tbh she doesn’t really know much about the vintage era (e.g. she’d be clueless about the Beatles, pink Floyd, breakfast at Tiffany’s). Some random things she likes include the artist frank ocean and cigarettes after sex. She loves fashion. Cities like New York City and Miami. Reading and writing. Big city life or peaceful beaches. A little feminist power or activist
Anyway, as you can see, I am all over the place. I am looking for any online stores that have some great posters that are “not cringe” (her words!). Any ideas ? Thank you so much !!
I bought some 18x24 frames (16x20 with the matting) but I’m realising now that 1) these are quite expensive sizes to buy prints for and 2) it’s actually quite hard to find stuff that fits these sizes exactly. Stuff is either a few inches bigger or a few inches smaller. Does anyone have any tips? I know the matting will allow for some smaller prints but if I want to buy some smaller than even that, or a size in between the matting and frame itself (almost big enough for the frame but not quite) what can I do? Are these things people commonly do? I want it to look right and not sloppy! Thanks all.
Hey! We are painting one wall in our new build living room olive green. Then going to have light oak furniture, a cream sofa and a very neutral/brown/beige ish accent chair and matching pillows for sofa. The floors are like a pale grey.
What rug could you recommend to go with all this and keep the warm vibe to fight the new build coldness?😂
Thanks!

I want to put a couch, Tv, and coffee table in this living room (maybe bookshelf). Any suggestions on color schemes or where to put the furniture? The walls are sort of yellowy beige.
