Congrats to u/showard2 for winning last week's contest! He sent the Fight On Funds to the Appalachia Service Project helping hurricane victims. Based on a quick Reddit search, he is one for two now in this contest so he shall be named Half-Dollar Showard2 aka 50 cent!
The When, Where, and Who:
The USC Trojans face the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 4:30 PM PT at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. This Big Ten matchup is crucial for both teams, with USC aiming to continue its push for conference supremacy, while Minnesota looks to bounce back from consecutive losses.
Game Details:
Odds:
Key Players to Watch:
USC Trojans:
Minnesota Golden Gophers:
Injuries:
There are no major new injury concerns for USC, but Minnesota will rely heavily on their ground game as they continue adjusting to Brosmer at quarterback, with some inconsistency shown in previous matchups.
Edit update: Looks like Akili and Eric Gentry are questionable. I don’t think they play vs Minnesota. Carson Tabarracci, Makai Lemon, Kilian O'Connor, Jadyn Walker, and Kalolo Ta'aga were all back at practice yesterday.
My Final Prediction:
USC 34, Minnesota 21. I expect Minnesota to put up a fight at home, but USC should cover the spread like they did last week in a crazy turn of events. What's yours?
Winner's Circle 2024: The OG ckotoyan baby!!; The Sniper FTFOatl!!; The Ghost Illustrious-Alps-869; And 50 cent aka Half-Dollar-Showard2 (he is one for two in this contest)
Hey Everyone, I admittedly married into the USC situation, but my wife's a diehard SC fan, her family has season tickets, so I'm happy to wear the cardinal and gold and cheer on the Trojans.
I'm a seasoned college football fan, and I'm used to tailgating. At Oregon we've got a big lot people set their cars up at. Stanford has a huge grove. Michigan has a whole village. That's the norm to me. There's usually a place where you park and set up, but it seems like USC's only option is on campus, with no place for cars. Does everyone just park offsite and lug everything in? Is there no true tailgating options? Am I missing something here?
We will be visiting Nov 14th-18th. Looking for information on a good golf course in the area that we could go to.
Let me start off by saying I’m glad domani Jackson is having a great seaosn at bama he absolutely clamped up the GA wideouts Saturday . We all know the talent was always there with that kid. However, I can’t help but be a lil bitter the two years we had him were with one of the worst DC’s in school history who did a good job on making many talented players look like they had no idea how to play football.
Wirh how much Cobb, Jaylen smith and other guys have improved with the new scheme and coaches I can’t help but think they would’ve molded Jackson into an absolute stud. Cuz imo the one thing we’re missing outside of some more DL depth is a true cb1 who can run with elite wideouts but at the same time I can’t blame the kid for leaving as he clearly always saw himself as a 3 and done player and he didn’t wanna bet his money year on a new staff. What do yall think ?
So the October 12 game is a confirmed 12:30 p.m. start.
My brother is coming across the country and I'm wondering what the tailgate situation is looking like.
Anyone making plans yet? Willing to bring beers / bottled mimosas / micheladas.

Anyone know where to find football nike elite jersey? And not the cheap screen printed Jersey
I've found myself rooting for you guys this year. I promise this is not a shitpost/me trolling.
I was such a huge fan of Lynn last season when he was with us, I truly can't root against him. As a coach myself (granted, not a football coach), I'm always enamored with the ones that truly get the most out of their players. Lynn epitomizes that IMO. For the first time in my life (and likely to the dismay of every generation of my family - we all went to UCLA - though I'll never tell them), I've actually found myself watching every USC game and... not wanting you guys to lose.
Wish you guys the best the rest of this season. I only hope you absolutely shit the bed against us (won't happen, we're terrible), but would be absolutely fired up for Lynn's defense to manhandle every other opponent you face.
Any Trojan fans traveling to the game next weekend at Minnesota?
If I remember correctly SC was up 4 with about 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter against Michigan. A good drive seals the game. We ran 3 completely ineffective plays including a weak screen type pass that stopped the clock.
Similar situation against Wisconsin. Up 11 with around 8 minutes left SC runs 3 plays for -1 total yards including an ugly screen type pass.
Do you think these two possessions represent a weakness in our offense—not being able to grind out a couple first downs in crunch time? Or is it not a trend, I am looking at just 2 possessions in isolation?
An absolutely insane turnaround that even most elite defensive coaches haven’t done if you compare their first year turnarounds.
Lots of people, myself included, wanted to see a true #1 emerge from the talented Sophomore group. Was very encouraged to see that it might be Ja’kobi, who has been the most consistent producer out of a crowded receiver room.
It’s funny to think that’s the case, since although he was a 4 star, he wasn’t ranked as a top 300 player anywhere and was a bit of an afterthought compared to his classmates (Branch and Duce 5 ⭐️, Makai a top 50 4 ⭐️). Hoping he can continue to improve and become a dominant player us.
I think we will be alright.
People seemed to enjoy my post last week, so I'll do it again! Yes, I am very fortunate to be able to travel a lot and attend many USC games. This year I have been/will be at LSU, Mich, Wisc, Penn St, UCLA, ND.
My thoughts:
First Half Issues - Very different from last week. Going from -3 to +4 in the turnover battle will win you a lot of comeback games, but that was a frustrating first half. If you look at time of possession, offensive yards and 1st down conversions, it shouldn't have been close.
Miller Moss is making the O-Line look better than they are. - Miller continues to impress with pocket presence, athleticism and high football IQ. After last week's game, I would have loved to see the O-line step up their play, but honestly it seemed like the same level of play against an less talented Defense. I am worried about Penn State.
Impact of having a Special Teams coach this year is Tangible - First 2 games of the year were field position battles (LSU & Mich), where Czaplicki kept USC in the game when the offense was stalling. He had some BIG punts today (*low snap in the back of the end zone). The impact is tangible.
Defense is the best we have had in years. - The Kamari Ramsey looked great for another week, but this defense isn't just great compared to last years defense but also nationally.
STAT TIME! Through 4 games USC has allowed 13 3rd Down Conversions on 49 attempts. This 26% conversion rate is Top 10 nationally and #1 in the Big Ten (yes, better than Ohio State, Penn State, Iowa and Michigan).
I continue to believe USC is playoff bound, but I am more worried about our games against Penn State and Notre Dame after this week than I was last week.
Would love to know what everyone else is thinking.

Anyone else catch the end of the Miami game?
Was hoping for a Miami loss (by another playoff contender) and can’t believe refs overturned that one. Don’t believe it was an actual catch but there wasn’t indisputable evidence to overturn the call on the field. Feels like they just re-officiated it. ACC refs did a great job protecting their best playoff hope this year.
Felt like the PAC-12 never protected their good teams. Always scheduling weird road games on a Thursday/Friday night against another good team looking to play spoiler.
