i recently got into marshall and received notice about the trustee/presidential scholarship, but i noticed that marshall has a different approach to interviews and does it asynchronously through a recording.
does anyone know how that process works and the types of question they ask in the interview? any other tips and advice would also be greatly appreciated
I graduated in December but walked in May. I haven’t received my diploma yet. How long does it take after graduation to receive it?
Hey everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone in the USC community, specifically non-students (like employees), has received any updates or financial aid related to the LA Wildfires Relief Grant? I know the grant process opened up on January 21, but trying to get any updates from the Campus Support and Intervention team has been super tough. It's felt like pulling teeth, honestly.
I’d love to hear from anyone who's had any experience trying to access financial aid for this – whether it's been positive or negative. Just trying to figure out what to expect and whether there’s any hope of getting assistance.
Thanks in advance!
.... like in parkside or cale/irani where you have multiple two-bedroom rooms then joint living room/cooking/shared bathroom... do the 8 ppl there take care of all cleaning or do the housekeeping/cleaning crews take care of that during semester?
just wondering how nasty it can get if you get bad roommates who don't clean anything?
🥲im stressing hard
EA Admit Aerospace for 2025.
Can someone please break it down? What types of crowds (academically driven, party, social, diverse, etc) are there in each of the housing block ;and significance of the location(close to classes, view, transport, central, etc.) ;and features(ac, floors, co-ed, etc.)?
The housing portal opens up on 3rd. What are we supposed to do? I also got the trustee scholars invite. What is up with McCarthy?
It Changes every year. Anyone know what's the most recent numbers? I saw the two posts about it, but there's no concrete number
Admitted EA and finalist for Prez or Trustee so putting McCarthy first. You pick room type as well. So while prefer 2p 2 room (2bath) suite, there’s only 8 of those spots. There are 40 four person singles (2bath). So if you put the 2p first and don’t get, then computer goes to 2nd choice (4p single) but will others who put 4P first get that thereby screwing you out of that bc you put it 2nd? Anyone know how this works?
Guys if you have any funny or weird roommate stories please share them below! This is a topic that doesn’t get talked about as much as it should lol!
Got an email by the USC Bookstores Grad Fest to purchase graduation regalia. Within that email there was a promo code for sashes which was USC_GF25. I have been trying to use that promo code to purchase my sash but it says its invalid or unrecognizable. Is anyone else having that problem?
I found sunglasses in front of the honor's dining hall; fallen under one of the outdoors tables.
handing it to DPS!
Hello, yesterday I lost my wallet and I can't for the life of me find it. With that I lost my USC ID, what is the process like getting onto campus without a student ID? Do I just give them my student id number? Or do you think I can outrun them get to class and yell "SAFE!" before they catch me?
Hi, I applied to the Interactive Media and Games BFA Program (internal transfer) and just received a request for an interview with one of the faculty members. Super nervous but excited! I wanted to ask about what kind of questions they usually ask, what I should expect the interview to be like — any advice from people that have done this before would be really helpful. Thank you!
Hi everyone! I'm looking for talented violin and cello players (duo) to perform live music during an intimate wedding ceremony in Culver City this September. The ceremony would be about 3 hours as it includes a luncheon right after. It would be a crowd of 20 or so.
Ideally, I'd love to find students from music programs in or around the LA area who are passionate about their craft and would enjoy an opportunity like this.
Details:
🎻 Seeking: 1 violinist & 1 cellist
📅 Date: September 13
📍 Location: Culver City
🎶 Style: Classical & romantic (open to discussing pieces)
💰 Compensation: Paid gig, negotiable rate
I'd love to hear a sample of your playing—whether through a video, live audition, or past recordings.
If you or someone you know is interested, please DM me and I’d love to chat some more! Thanks so much :)
I’m doing a second round case interview tomorrow for a consulting club. I have never done one of these before and I was wondering what to expect? The more details the better.
First, I do not call myself a "bright" and absolutely "hard-working" person. I often, if not always, procrastinate.
But I found out a peculiar pattern regarding club admissions here at USC. Many clubs that I am interested in, like international relations, overseas studies and work, and literature, often prioritize domestic, American students' membership over international students. It shouldn't be the case that some clubs are so hard to get admitted.
The clubs that I am in have an unfair representation of their leadership as being American and domestic (students that have spent their education in the United States instead of other countries) during my interview and information sessions.
I heard about things like implicit discrimination and elitist, exclusionist things that clubs and organizations at USC have. Dear international students and those who did not study in the U.S. educational system, do you guys feel like that?
It’s a last day to upload midyear grade for turning EA to RD as deferred applicant.
My school hasn’t released official report but the grade on school app has been updated , so what should I send to USC?
A screenshot ? Or ?
SMC Student with a 3.7 GPA and USC is my dream school and LMU my more realistic school. I want to work in commercial banking at JPM/BOFA/CITI. Commercial banking from LMU is very possible as a semi target but USC is the true target where this career is pretty much guaranteed.
However the problem is I’d have to wait 7 more months for a chance at USC while at LMU Im almost guaranteed acceptance and I could in theory get the same job just with a bit more effort. I already took a gap year and got delayed an extra semester now so USC would essentially make me wait an entire extra year compared to my original timeline. USC Marshall is a reach (I’d likely only get into Dornsife Economics).
I do get very anxious of not landing a banking job at JPM/BOFA/CITI and LMU is my second best shot but the idea of “what could have been” worries me. UCLA isn’t an option because I’m not doing calc 2 so it’s either LMU or USC.
so is USC worth it in this regard? even if it’s not Marshall
Just wondering any good immigration law firms or attorneys that y’all could recommend? Gould Law Clinic is no help since I’d wanna inquire on F1 and work-visa stuffs. Searched on Google but I thought coming from the community might be more trustworthy.
Basically title. I’m very happy I got in Dornsife EA and I’m interested in doing the Applied and Computational Math major, along with linguistics.
AMCM seemed like the perfect major for my interests but I’m reading that USC math isn’t very high-quality and not really worth the price.
Does anyone have any insights about AMCM at USC? How is the teaching for the classes? Do AMCM majors have any trouble getting internships or have less access to the career opportunities at USC? Is it feasible to double major AMCM with comp linguistics?
If AMCM isn’t too great, then how much harder is it to instead add Viterbi CS with the lottery system? Thanks in advance 🙏

I gave my card to my apt's front desk to pick up a package this morning and it's been malfunctioning ever since. Wouldn't tap so I had to swipe, wouldn't swipe so i get to stand like a shmuck outside the door. someone opened the door for me just fine, so it's not the card reader.
anyone else had this issue?
anyone who’s taken a Roski class at IFT know of any consistent parking near there? or is it usually luck based on any of the streets around there?
