Watch new fan-made trailers every day! We have contests, AMA's with industry pros, and a friendly, feedback-centric community!
Welcome to /r/FanTrailers, a subreddit of the fans, by the fans and for the fans!
Have you ever found a fan-made trailer in a dark corner of the internet and thought to yourself "Okay wow, this is way better than the official one!"? Are you looking for a place to share your latest creation on which you spent 36 hours, non-stop? Or, maybe, you are just eager to discover the wonders (and horrors!) that fandom may birth? Well, if I didn't already spell it out for you - you've come to the right place!
By default, and for your own safety, always assume spoilers. Check the title and comments for spoiler warnings.
You can use [OC] (= Original Content) tags when posting your own creations. In addition, you could also use the special "Original Content" link flair which is colored differently (purple). You can also edit the text. It could bring more attention to your post.
However, before posting, please acknowledge the following guidelines:
"The 8 Rules"
Rule 1: Please, treat each other with respect and be considerate. Downvoting is not considered critique here, unless it's accompanied with an explanation for the downvote.
Rule 2: Any kind of work can be trailered and posted here as long as it (1) is a trailer and (2) is fan-made. Official trailers are not acceptable, but they may still be posted in the comment section.
Rule 3: No overt pornography or excessive nudity. Brief nudity is accepted but must be accompanied with a NSFW tag.
Rule 4: Very excessive violence will also be removed if present. Please consider using a NSFW tag if appropriate. If you are unsure if your submission follows the rules, PM a mod and they will let you know if it works or not.
Rule 5: Any video host is good, although YouTube is highly advised. The higher the resolution, the better. Avoid submitting videos with the "Private" setting, country-blocked videos or referee links.
Rule 6: Please flair your post. Flairing will be enforced when you forget to do so.
Rule 7: Please mention the name of the work you're trailering in your post, or at least comment on the post with the author's name and/or source.
Rule 8: Add a spoiler warning if necessary.

So I’m a professional trailer editor. I made this as a practice exercise when I was furloughed during Covid.
I’m gonna be a bit unresponsive as I travel for the next three weeks, but if any member of this community wants to pick my brain over why I made any of the decisions I did… go ham. Happy to answer anything. No question is too stupid.
I taught myself editing almost 20 years ago making fanmade trailers for Halo on Google Video (pre-YouTube. Yep). So there’s a lot of things I loved about bringing this all full circle.
Cheers and hope any Halo fans get a kick out of this
