If you dig the collab, please feel free to check out my music instagram linked in my Reddit account bio:), as there’s loads more videos like this over there, and thank you all! 🙏
Thoughts abt the intro fill? (Put it at the start so I could re-take if I messed it up cause it’s hard to make sound good)
I’ve tried using instagram reels to record but my drum sound never lines up to the music. What is an easy way to line up drum audio and song audio?
Hey everyone! I’ve posted before and wanted to get your input. There are a lot of knowledgable people here and I am not one of those when it comes to drums so please pardon my lack of appropriate jargon.
Getting a set this week - an electric kit - I live in an NYC apartment, so am prioritizing also not bothering neighbors.
The kits and prices are so varied and I can’t decide what kit to get. I know this is a substantial amount of money, and not just chump change, so I want to buy something that will be durable and also have offer a ton of cool options, sounds, etc. also want to consider the cost of adding a kick pedal, and also looking for a kit with that rim click on the snare (again I don’t know terms). Drummed. For years in my youth and getting back into it.
I went to a music store and the staff couldn’t help me earn about the kits or their differences. Want to get something that won’t be a lemon and that will last me a bit. I tend to take care of my stuff and not a very hard hitter overall.
I’ve looked at:
Roland TD07KV - $1000, no kick pedal
Alesis Crimson III - $1000, no kick pedal
Roland TD17KV2 - $1300, no kick pedal
Simmons Titan 70 - $800, all inclusive plus extra Tom and cymbal.
Simmons SD 1250 - $800, all inclusive plus extra Tom and cymbal
Alesis Nitro Pro XL - $800, extra Tom and cymbal, no kick pedal
Please, any and all feedback welcome. Appreciate your time.
Basic information about me: I am 33 years old, married and the father of a cute baby girl. We live on the 5th floor out of 6. The drums system is inside a room protected from rocket fire (I'll keep this story for later lol), this means that every wall is 30 cm thick and made of reinforced concrete (something that significantly reduces the noise). The system I bought for myself is second hand Roland TD 11 E-Drums , And I've been taking private frontal lessons for six months now.
I am asking the expert and the respective members of the forum for help on several issues:
Also on the same topic, I would like to hear opinions about tuning the FX and the EQ. Can I import kit to the module and how? 4. Creative ideas to reduce the vibrations that pass through the wall to the neighbors because of the bass kick. Regarding this subject I will say that I read about the tennis stage and did not connect, and about Roland's solution which is relatively expensive. 5. Practices: Besides the training with the teacher, is there a book/YouTube channel/Facebook/app or any effective practice tool that you can recommend? 5. How to clean the Drum set? And is it recommended to completely disassemble the system, clean and reassemble when the system is clean?
In conclusion, I would like to mention that I am researching all of the aforementioned topics at the same time, but I know that there are just as many professionals reading here. Also and finally, I would appreciate any tips or "do's/don'ts", advantages and disadvantages, tutorials or any other tips that you would like to receive as beginner drummers and that would make things easier for you. I'm going to invest in drumming and I just want to do it right.
Many thanks to everyone who took the time to read and who might be able to share their thoughts.
