In App Store I find this screenshot of a watch face with a phone symbol. I thought the phone symbol was shown when the watch got data from the phone and not the "direct to watch" connection.
I use the "direct to watch" connection. But when the watch doesn't get the data from the phone, I don't get the phone symbol on the complication.
Do you get the phone symbol on this complication when "direct to watch" does not work?
I'm a new dexcom follow user, since my husband is developing t1d and on insuline since yesterday. The follow app gives me alerts all the time, which honestly stresses me out. Is there a way to keep alarms for when boodsugar is too high or too low, but not the alert every time his bloodsugar changes (which apparently happens every two minutes). Many thanks in advance.
I just changed to the G7 from G6. I work in electrical construction and use my arms in all sorts of situations. The back of the arms location won’t work for me because I will most likely get ripped off. I used the upper thigh for my G6 Will this area also work for the G7? Has anyone experienced the upper thigh location and had any issues?
Hi everyone. I am getting increasingly frustrated with Dexcom and I am seeking advice.
I recently made the switch to a Tandem Tslim 2X pump and with that I was forced to switch from a Freestyle Libre 3 sensor to a Dexcom 6 sensor. This was roughly two weeks ago.
Since then, I've managed to go through 8 sensors. Each one lasting on average 2 days before they fail. They have failed at night, during the day, when Im sitting at work not putting any pressure on the sensor. I am not doing anything to hurt my sensors, in fact I am very careful not to hurt these sensors.
I do not know what I am supposed to do?
I've applied the sensors to both my arms in the triceps area and I recently attempted to use the sensor on my stomach, that one maintained active the longest - a whole 3 days!
Since I cant find any reason for why my sensors keep failing, my next hypothesis is that it has to do with the fact that my Iphone has not been updated in a good while. Could this be the reason I am experiencing these failures?
Is that an experience anyone else has had?
Please help me, I need advice.
Running a closed loop system with the Dexcom G7 and the T slim X2. Wrote here on Reddit about 6 months ago about calibration issues which are ongoing. In fact I gave up on the G7 and went back to the G6.
The problem I have is that any G7 sensor I use ( no matter what batch) wakes me in the night telling me my BG is low. I fingerprick and my BG is in range so i try telling the t slim pump this and it won't let me manually calibrate. Therefore I keep getting alerted and start to run really low on sleep. Calibrating in the G7 app is a total waste of time - it often crashes the app and doesn't work.
People I have spoken to at Dexcom seem baffled but I suspect nobody I have spoken to has the right knowledge about calibration with the T slim X2 pump. Both tandem and Dexcom direct me to the other and my frustration and lack of sleep has ended with me either fuming or in floods of tears down the phone.
You can manually calibrate with the G6 by putting your correct BG readings into the pump twice. Can't understand why it's not the same with the G7? One or two people have told me ' You don't need calibrate with a G7' like it's a more intelligent system than a human actually living with Type 1?! Madness - you should always have the option to calibrate and override.
Sticking with the G6 then for now as 6 months on, still no expertise/suggestions being offered by Dexcom on this. If anyone has any similar experience of this, would love to hear.
Just updated the Dexcom iOS app down here in Australia (v1.12.0). Finally my Apple Watch Complication font size issue has been resolved and I can easily read my numbers again. 👍🏼
Has anyone got a good workaround to view readings on an Apple Watch whilst working out without having to press buttons? It’s a shame it can’t be integrated with the workout app to see it next to your heart rate. It’s more annoying if water mode is on. TIA
Just got my dexcom G6 put on today. The luxury of being able to see what my blood sugar is at any given point in time is so freaking nice.
Any tips that I should be aware of?
New to cgm..Just prescribed the dexcom g7. Haven't used it yet but have a question or 2 on alerts. Do alerts sound or vibrate on your phone and or the sensor itself? Been type 1 for 35 years...always wake up if low and take care of it. With the reports I've seen on here don't want to be alerted to false lows when sleeping. Generally want to use it during the day on vibrate...am I wrong that critical alerts will sound and if so on the phone or from sensor or both. Thanks for your input. Haven't seen this question posted for newbies.
If you get a failed sensor, you can get unlimited replacements. Just remember to give them the serial number. If you don't, the courtesy replacements will happen.
I've been using Stelo for a couple of months. I've easily had issues with 1/3 of the sensors. Note to newbies: DO NOT throw out boxes. You're gonna need them to report issues. Here are a few of mine.
Sensor quits early: I have them quit after 5 days, 3 days, and 17 minutes. I apparently didn't put the overpatch on fast enough? Interestingly it prompted me for that issue - and others - so tracking works. They just arent spending $ on phone support.
Sensor doesn't deploy: Happened 3x. Unfortunately no way to report it thru bot or form.
No phone support: Today when I had an issue a phone number came up FOR STELO. Hallelujah! I called. Some guy named Chuck in the PHILIPPINES told me they don't support Stelo over the phone. But I got the number from Dex-Com!!! Nope. Not available.
Bot is USELESS and there's no way to communicate with a human. No phone. No email. No text.
I'M REPORTING THEM TO MY US SENATOR WHO I'M HOPING CAN REPORT THEM TO FDA. Nobody should be dispensing medical devices AT A COST that fail as often as these do with NO support. I'm disgusted and out hundreds of dollars for all the sensors that didn't work that I didn't track the numbers of. Speaking of which....
SERIAL NUMBER: you need a serial number to report issues. Guess what? NONE of the EIGHT numbers on the box are identified. Guess which one is the Serial? No, guess again? Nope, keep guessing......
I cancelled my subscription today. Too bad, because when it worked, it worked well for me. I did not do finger sticks to test but when I did my A1c after 2 months that number reflected the results I was getting. I just can't continue to use something this reliable. The cost for each sensor given the number of failures I've had is closer to $100 for 2 weeks. Dreadful experience. Don't say I didn't warn you.
I have a Dexcom G7 and a brand new Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. I'm an Android guy with a Samsung Galaxy Fold4 phone with the latest version of Android and One Ui. I want to see the blood sugars from my Dexcom G7. My phone can see them. My Tandem TSlim X2 can see them. I check my blood sugar levels 20 times a day and want to see them on my fancy new watch at a glance, rather than dig the pump or my phone out of a pants pocket.
I used to use the Dexcom G6 app then the Dexcom G7 app on my phone. I could display my blood sugar on the fabulous Dexcom G7 receiver and also my phone. When I exercise or bicycle my phone is in front of me since cardio exercise causes my blood sugar to drop. But I dropped my phone when on a bicycle camping trip, but a lucky grab caught the phone before it hit the pavement. Same trip I cracked the tough case attempting to pull the big phone from my pocket. This stopped working when I got a new Tandem TSlim X2 pump. Now I can display the blood sugar on my phone using the tConnect app. But the pump switch stopped DexcomG7 from working. My wife can still see my sugars on her Samsung S23 with the Dexcom Follow app, which trscks blood sugars from the (Dexcom? Tandem?) servers.
I have found posts suggesting I can download a watch face from DexcomG6 app to a Galaxy watch, but I can't get this to work with DexcomG7 app and my much newer phone and new Galaxy Watch Ultra. The DexcomG7 app no longer works since the Tandem TSlim X2 TConnect replaced it. For a while I had DexcomG7 and working before the pump switch. There is no watch face when I try to reinstall DexcomG7. I have not yet tried to reinstall TConnect because I don't want to break my working system. I have not tried to download Dexcom Follow to the phone. I have tried two 3rd party apps but no luck so far; they seem to need the DexcomG6 app on my phone which sees the Bluetooth from the G6. I will pay for the Pro versions of an App that runs on my watch, which has the One UI 6.0 version of WearOS.
I don't have Apple IOS anything, but Android. There must be other geeky type 1 diabetics in my situation. Can you help us?
My son (12 years old) has been using the G6 for about 6 months now. Overall he's had a favorable experience, but twice now has lost the transmitter. It's a headache to try and get a replacement inside 90 days with insurance, so these mistakes can result in him being without Dexcom for a week or so. His endocrinologist just recommended to me that he transition to the G7 because the G7 does not have a transmitter. I didn't realize that back when we were comparing the G6/G7 6 months ago when he first got the G6. If for no other reason than this one (less moving parts, one less thing for him to lose) it sounds like a great idea to switch. That being said, I'm sure there are plenty of people on this sub that have transitioned from the G6 to G7, so I was just looking for some feedback from those with experience with both. Any regrets in moving to G7?
Hi! I’m on my first G7 sensor and my numbers have been bouncing like crazy. For an example, it’ll go from 121 to 75 to 58 to 83 to 138 to 91 all in about 20 minutes. When I do a finger prick, it usually lands somewhere in the middle of these numbers. I’ve calibrated and taken care not to lie on the sensor.
Has anyone else had similar issues with the G7?
Every few hours for roughly a month my dexcom g6 has been having signal losses. Anybody else had this problem/know how to fix it? I should be changing to g7 in about 2 months just due to me wanting to clear out all my g6 supplies before upgrading.
Is this update playing well with Dexcom?
Hi All - Lately my dexcom isn't alerting me when I'm low like 50% of the time. So I'm eating dinner phone is right next to my cup and I see my screen light up on my iphone saying I'm low. It doesn't beep or vibrate, it's just like a push notification. My settings look correct, anyone else experience this? My low alert is toggled on and has the sound 'beep'
Anyone know if Dexcom is going to add smart stack support? I often use watch faces that don't have widgets, but I do really like the smart stacks that appear when you scroll the crown. Anyone know if Dexcom will be adding a smart stack widget as a feature?
Im new to Dexcom G7. I just began myn2nd sensor. I tried my thigh as I kept banging my arm or having pressure misreading. I had been recording higher than normal due to two steroid shots in my knees last week. I was prescribed Dexcom due to dangerously low readings and my inability to recognize it. My issue is, my reading said 99 which I felt wwaas great. I decided to do a finger stick to verify and low and behold, it was 44. Now I am wondering what to do. I guess I will need to keep doing finger sticks. Anyone experience this?
I use the g6 normally, used to use g7. I had to use a g7 from my doctor because I had a failure and no spares. About 24 hours into use of the g7, I had excruciating pain all the way to my fingertips. I have a super high pain tolerance (I literally got a hole burned into my hand by an electrode and didn’t even wince because I thought she said it would be uncomfortable) I had it on my arm. G6 never ever does that. What the heck happened? I ended up taking it off because it was indeed that bad. But also!!!! Why do the g7s bleed so much? I have another one of them on now and it just…. Bleeds? Straight through my clothing.
The readings for both have been super inaccurate, despite calibration. Surely it isn’t like this for everyone because if it was, would anyone even use them?
That being said, what is the huge difference between g6 and g7? Is it the straight wire vs angled? Do I just not have enough tissue for the g7?
Hey, I have put a sensor 4 hours ago on my abdomen (I'm quite skinny/underweight) and I've noticed it's slightly painful when talking too much/laughing/bending down/anything that involves pressure in that area. Is this normal? Does it go away with time? Should I be taking it off and finding a new spot to insert, and would dexcom cover this under "painful insertion site" ?
EDIT: Took it out, too painful. Is it normal for the filament to be this bent: https://imgur.com/RFlx8op
Dexcom G7 user and I have been using the official app. I am thinking about switching to xDrip+ when I need to replace my next sensor as it gives me direct view of historical data (instead of going to Clarity). A few questions
I have been using the G6 for years but recently switched to the G7. Three sensors in and I cannot keep it attached very well. I think it would be better at staying on all 10 days if I put it where I put the G6, on the outside of my upper arm. Less droop there!
Should that be okay? I can’t use my stomach due to scar tissue and my thighs will be an issue with the pressure lows.
Thoughts? Thanks!
My T1 daughter is a very deep sleeper and will be going off to college next year. We got a SugarPixel and it was so loud it woke me up on the other side of the house - she still slept through it. Trying to find something for next year, she will have to wake up for her own highs and lows and will have a roommate to boot. I’ve seen wristbands that will give the wearer a small shock as an alarm - has anyone tried something like this?
I don’t know if this subreddit is the correct place to ask this. I have the G6 still, and I have the Apple Watch app installed so that I get a display and notifications on my watch; however, the default sound isn’t my favorite. Is there any way to change the watch notification sound?
