Hey all,
I moved from G6 go G7 about 30 days ago and have had 4 sensors.
The first one seemed okay but every one since has had a period of time where (according to the g7) my levels have dropped to the 2’s, upon checking I’ll be around 5.
I’ve also noticed drastic drops when my levels aren’t dropping at all.
I’m looping so it’s a bit of a problem.
These aren’t compression lows because I’m getting them during the day sat at my desk.
It seems to overestimate like crazy any big drops.
Is there anything I can do? Dexcom have already replaced 2 sensors.
They are also a lot noisier. Lots of random 1mmol drops for a cycle and then back up for the next. This is rubbish when I’m asleep and the hypo alarm wakes me up for no reason.
Also, more often than not I can’t calibrate. The calibration goes through then next cycle it says “calibration couldn’t be used”.
Could it be a bad batch or are G7s just no good in general?
Thanks!
Being a relative new user of the G7, of the 6 or 7 G7 sensors I've inserted, 4 sensors have failed to connect to my iPhone. My phone can't find the sensor. Anyone have this problem? I've placed a call to DexCom where I'm told to insert another, wait a half hour, then call back if any trouble with the second sensor. Yes, I'm having trouble, yet again, with the second sensor. So frustrating.
I’ve seen several posts about folks extracting the magnet out of a spent G7 sensor. Any tips for extraction?
Open Dexcom app on iPhone. Click Profile, then Alerts. You can specifically change them to vibrate or soften the volume. You can also silence all notifications entirely (including vibrate) for up to 6 hours. Hope this helps!
In Android version of the Dexcom G7 app, I just noticed that the G7 reading seems to have 5-minute delay in reading BG. In other word, the new reading is time stamped as 5 minutes ago unlike before. I wonder this change started with the new App version (2.5.0.8449) as I recently noticed the difference after the update. It was always real-time. This renders xDrip+ reading 10 minutes behind. When I first noted this, I thought something wrong with xDrip+ in fetching the reading from the G7. Further observations revealed the G7 indeed reads and stamps time 5 minutes behind.
If Dexcom changed the app algorithm in readings and timestamps, what is the point of doing all of a sudden? Again, I did not noticed the delay in reading until recently and wonder what is going on. Anyone else noticed this 5-minute delay?
Hello. Brand new user here. I have the Dexcom G7. Love it so far. Anyway, I was wondering if having a receiver is absolutely necessary for any reason? Given my cell phone is always with me, I have been using the app and it seems to be just fine and gives me everything I need.
Plus, it's a cost thing: money is tight, and why spend anything on something that may not necessarily be needed right away? But if there is legitimate value in having it, I can always spring for it at the start of the new year, when new FSA money kicks in.
Thank you in advance for any help on this matter.
And it was only on day 3. I had restarted my phone serval times. I couldn't get the website to work today so ended up having to call them and they want me to send it back. But no sooner than I hung up with the lady did it start working. This is my next to last sensor. For some reason I didn't get this months shipment. So I don't know what to do. They are sending me a replacement. Do I leave this on since it's working correctly or go ahead and take it off?
I'm having issues using a Pixel 7 Pro. It stopped working on 10/14. I only know that because I was replacing both my sensor and transmitter. The Omnipod was still getting readings from Dexcom G6, but the Dexcom app itself stopped logging any reading and remained in a “Signal Loss” state. I left it alone for a couple of weeks because the Omnipod was still getting readings. I tried the following:
Called Dexcom and went through basic troubleshooting steps.
New transmitter - sent to me from Dexcom
New sensor
New pod
turn off/on Bluetooth + restart
Disconnect/Reconnect Transmitter via Bluetooth
Uninstall/reinstall Dexcom 2x with restarts afterward
No phone system updates or app changes to Dexcom around this time.
Several tries of all of the above except changing the transmitter again. Same issues. At this point, Omnipod no longer was communicating with Dexcom so I decided to switch over to the G7. I’d been using up the rest of my stock of G6 stuff. Whole new system now. Guess what, the same thing is happening with the G7. No readings in the G7 app, but Omnipod is picking up the readings. Argh!
One thing of note is that I will temporarily get readings in Dexcom after Bluetooth off/on, restart the phone, and then sometimes another Bluetooth off/on cycle (sometimes not). Lasts for maybe 10 minutes or so.
I'm at a loss. Does anyone else experience this or have any suggestions?
I've looked to see if anything has been turned on or off in the settings of my phone that follows with the dexcom g7 app itself. I don't see anything out of the ordinary and I've asked Google and it's not help whatsoever. Even trying to reset the notifications and resetting my phone doesn't even work. My phone is an android phone. I'm not sure how to fix it
I'm thinking about getting the phone but it's not listed as supported on their site and it has its own OS, but I've seen there is a 'build your own app' but does it work for dexcom one?
I’ve been wearing the Dexcom for about six months now, and although I love the product, sometimes the sensor in my arm pinches. The one I put in last night is giving me a pinching sensation the whole time, but especially when I straighten my arm. Is there a solution to the pinching sensation?
My girlfriend's son is type 1, and atm just uses his iPhone to get readings from his G7. He plays sports and generally cannot have his phone with him, so we were thinking about getting him a basic Apple Watch (like a refurbished SE 2nd gen, or something along those lines) that would support Direct to Watch, to ensure he's able to keep track of his BG when he's out of range of his phone.
I'm wondering if anyone's been using their Apple Watch this way, or at least out of range of their phone, and can comment on how much this has helped and/or how reliable it's been. Thanks!
Hi all, my Pixel 7 pro has downloaded Android 15 and wants me to install it. Is this safe to do now? Will it work? I read on Dexcom support pages that G7 app is not compatible with Android 15 but I'm assuming the Follow app isn't affected, since it's a bluetooth issue?
Hi everyone,
I'm currently using the G7 which as we all know suffers badly with signal loss. I've been offered the chance to swap to the 1+. Has anyone experience using the 1+? Is the signal loss any better or worse? I know the 1+ has less alarms but I'd happily do without these if it meant less signal loss!
I've recently changed phones (to a Google pixel 7 android 14 if that helps ) and basically for the last 9 days I've been getting zero readings on my phone (dexcom g6) yet I've been able to see readings on the omnipod hand held, I've tried resetting Bluetooth, re pairing transmitter and redownloading app with new sensor yet nothing is working, any advice would be appreciated. Planning on changing transmitter soon but don't have a spare ATM.
Will Stelo work with the G 7 receiver?
I've been using the Dexcom G7 for about 6 months now and I am dealing with a random failure rate of near 35-40%. About every 3rd sensor will work for 2-3 days and then just stop giving me readings. The app will say Start New Sensor and no error messages are displayed. I used the G6 for close to 3 years and had a failure rate of maybe 1 in 10, if that. The G7 is horrible and I know I'm not the only one dealing with it. I've asked my Endo to move me to the Libre 3 since my insurance covers it the same as the Dexcom. I'm currently trying to figure out how to rip Dexcom a new one via reviews. But overall, the G7 is a failing medical device and a medical hazard. Do not use it if you don't have to.
Lately I’ve been having trouble with my sensor coming unstuck when I exercise. I’m already using the overtape. Does anyone use something else that helps the sensor stay on when sweating excessively?
I've been using the Stelo. The first one worked wonderfully. Accurate readings (even more accurate after 24 hours.) my second sensor however... it's been on for over 32 hours, and it almost constantly saying "below 70" with random "brief sensor error" sprinkled in. I'm trying to be hopeful, but does it sound like it just failed?
Hi, I’m currently on Vacation in Japan and wont be back home for months. I’m on a closed loop system, and have only dexcom and no other pump form available. I rely on my dexcom for my life, health and safety. The app was completely glitched out on me earlier, wouldnt load, tried restarting, still no luck. I deleted the app and redownloaded, which I now know was a mistake. I’m feeling completely helpless, I don’t know what to do. I dont have a way of getting anywhere near back home soon or of managing my blood sugars or even know what they are. I can’t believe dexcom has left me in this position. I dont know what to do… Is there any way, hack or anything anyone has found to get around this? I dont have access to a computer so cant use iAnyGo…. Someone please help me. 🙏🏼
Hello- Of course on a work trip I misplace my receiver. (On Dexcom for chronic reactive hypoglycemia)
As long as I have the G7 app I should be ok though right? Or is it worth calling Dexcom for a new one.
I got alarm alerts the day after I lost it but I did mot hear my alerts for the last 2 nights (obvious compression lows) and I’m not sure if it’s because my receiver is gone?
Thanks for reading.
I've been using Dexcom Stelo for a couple months now. I take advantage of logging "Blood Glucose" events (which are supposed to be based on finger stick tests) to keep track of how off the Stelo is from finger sticks. I've noticed that within a few hours of logging a blood glucose event, the Stelo seems to track my finger sticks better. Also, I had a bunch of readings I was not sure of for this sensor, so after logging 9 "Blood Glucose" events for this sensor, it no longer allows me to log any more.
Both of these facts make me feel like maybe the Stelo is using the "Blood Glucose" events to calibrate. If "Blood Glucose" events are just for reference on the graph, why limit them to 9? Anyone else notice this?
