I ate a snack tonight, and my carb counting gave me 15 units of insulin. After giving myself the bolus, I started regretting the amount. So, I stopped my insulin for two hours and just let the bolus run. I stayed between 114 and 130 for two hours. I was amazed.
How can I used that to figure out a better basal/bolus setting for myself, because I’m terrified of my tandem at the moment. I’ve turned CIQ off, but I just have to figure out better settings, and my doctor is just this side of useless.
Why am I still waiting for the software update for the tslim g7 integration? Where is the Mobi pump in Canada? This company is so greedy and costly.
Hi all! Just switched my 5 year old son from OP5 to Mobi a week ago today. Read somewhere on the Tandem website that trusteel cannulas should be changed every 2 days but that the auto soft xc ones can be changed every 3 days. Can anyone elaborate more on this? Is there greater risk for scar tissue and/or infection with the trusteel sets?
Also the beeping! Is there a place where I can read about all the reasons why this pump would beep? Sometimes it beeps but I don’t see any corresponding notification in the app. Annoying!
Thanks! It’s going well so far, big change from Omnipod 5 automated mode for sure. Good TIR with little intervention so far. Kiddo prefers the feel of this new pump, too, which is everything!!
Just now. Let’s see how long I can keep this. My record was 3 days back in July.
AFAIK the tandem web app (source.tandemdiabetes.com) is the only way to be able to view reports/dashboards about your pump usage. Data like daily insulin usage and number of boluses per day is what I’m referring to.
There appears to be no app that lets you see this data. It also only seems to work on a desktop browser (login fails on my mobile browser, safari on iPhone).
Has anyone had luck viewing this data on mobile devices?
Anybody else have trouble getting Tandem reps to respond? The Tandem rep I worked with during training has moved on. New one won’t answer emails and I don’t have his phone number. My endo office probably has it, but they won’t answer messages. UC Health in Northern Colorado, in case you’re wondering.
I'm wondering if there is any better way to check for air bubbles in the pump tubing, sometimes the bubbles are very hard to see. I was thinking maybe getting a UV torch to see if that would help, has anyone come across anything that helps
Been in Mobi for almost two weeks, and I think my body just refuses to cooperate with it. Blood sugars are constantly high. Still crashing at 3:00am for zero reason, and still spiking in the morning.
I feel like I need a separate basal rate for every hour of the day. Some hours what the doctor told me my basal should be is too much, sometimes not nearly enough.
I’m literally trapped at home, unable to do anything because I don’t know when my blood sugar is going to crash. I went to the store the other day to get medicine for my mom. I made sure my blood sugar was 260 before leaving. Went to pharmacy and left. Nothing more. Blood sugar was 70 when I got back to my car. I had to sit there for an hour drinking OJ that I always have to carry with me before I could go home safely.
Then tonight, I have two slices of pizza. I set my bolus to be very high for supper. Gave myself 12 units and spread it out over two hours. Blood sugars were above 250 for four hours!
Talked to my doctor and he wants me to be cautious. I’m fed up at this point. Life was better without the pump and without constant monitoring. Other than breaking my leg because of a 3:09am low blood sugar.
I’m adjusting all my settings as best I can. The problem is that something that works one day doesn’t work the next.
Just a rant. Sorry for wasting your time. Just needed to get that out.
Hooray my Mobi arrived today! Going to set it up later tonight.
I'm curious about a couple of things. Can I power the charger with my bathroom outlet that has USB A and C plugs? And will another 10w (non mag-safe) wireless charger work with it?
United Health Care told me I have a choice of 3 suppliers for my Tslim supplies. AdaptHealth, Advanced Diabetes Supply, or Byram. Can anyone vouch for one of these? Any specific benefit or value from using them? Thanks!
I ran out of insulin in pump and can’t refill for next 2-3 hours. Don’t have my charging pad with me. Any way to turn it off without the charging pad? It buzzs every 5 minutes about no insulin delivery even if I dismiss notification in app.
It is driving me crazy!!!
Edit: Mobi not mobile
Does anyone use a good app on Android that helps you log your sites? I've been on a pump since 2008 and only recently started tracking my sites in my notes app to help with rotation but was wondering if there's an app out there that essentially does the same thing.
Anyone else having issues with the portal? I need to update my pump but can’t even sign in!!!
This is what I get in 3 different browsers when I try to log in. I have followed the link to the other log in page and it goes into a loop where the source page won't actually load.
No tricks just treats!
Ahhhhhh!!! 😍
It’s here it’s here! Stupidly excited right now 🤣
My sugars have been NUTS doing MDI since Oct 14th when my pump died days after warranty expired of course lol… so bad and can’t sleep right.
Yay!
Tell me ALL the things I should know about the Mobi and my next steps as I got this box and that is it lol.
Thank you!!!!
Hi everyone! I have been a T1D for about 18 years. Since year one I was on Medtronic pumps, but got tired of all of the alerts and frequent lows I was getting with them. I recently switched to the Omnipod 5 due to wanting to try something new and go tubeless. It has been aggravating to say the least. From leaking pods to it not doing enough to correcting high blood sugars, I am at my wits end with it. The other option before I switched to the Omnipod when discussing with my endo was a tandem pump. Has anyone who has switched from an Omnipod to a tandem pump have any feedback on the differences and if you like one vs the other? I am hoping for no more leaking and better high/low prevention.
As a side note, is the difference between the mobi and x2 mainly just how much insulin it can hold?
Thank you!
This is super weird. I double checked the sensor number against the pump and the app, same number. Pump is on the same side of my body as the sensor, sensor is reading to my phone fine, but I keep getting an invalid pairing code on the pump. Do I reboot to see if that fixes it? I'm at work for the next seven hours so I can't call tandem or dexcom. First time this has happened.
My insurance has more than tripled my supply copays for tandem TSlim supplies; I’m thinking of moving to a Mobi but wanted to understand if I could cut down on the cartridge quantity by reusing them 2-3 times before changing out. I started doing that with the TSlim cartridges with no issues.
Hi all! After ending up in the ER twice due to low BG since moving to this pump, we are trying to resolve her very random blood sugar issues. I opened up the thread below and got great advice. Quick fact reminder, 39 year old female, diabetic for 36 years, on Medtronic pump and CGM for 10 years (with A1Cs between 6.4 and 7.4) who recently moved to the Tandem and all hell has broken loose haha
So she met with a trainer at her endo on Tuesday, and they basically adjusted her night basal a little bit (from 0.65 to 0.4) and changed her correction ratio from 1:60 to 1:64. It has not really done anything, since CIQ adjusts the basal anyway, so with her permission (and since I am not super knowledgeable) and I posting her settings, and then a common/average day which generally ends up with several lows to see if someone could help me make heads and tails of what I am looking at, and where maybe the challenge here is.
She has an actual endo appointment at the end of November, the earliest she can get in. In the meantime, overnights, we have a lot of redundant alarms setup on the Dexcom app (sending the numbers to my phone and alerting in addition to her pump) so we can catch those lows early enough.
Here is an average day:
This the day before and then the crash that ended up putting her in the hospital (ignore the highs after the crash, they took her pump off and it took them hours to give her insulin which is a whole different story) - her BG was 27 at 4am when I gave her glucagon (the dexcom minimized at 39 but I did a test once the seizure stablized and I got the glucagon in)
Two more average days follow by settings:
Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated. I have been getting a crash course in the this pump over the last couple weeks but I don't really want to wait until Mid-Nov to look for solutions.
TIA!
When I have flown in the past, TSA was really good about hand-checking my bag dedicated to medications and medical equipment. They have always performed the check in my presence and been very professional about it.
Well, that ended today. To start off, the agent was visibly angry that I was requesting to have my medical bag hand checked and that I was requesting a hand screening. Instead of taking my medical bag, which is clearly labeled and only contains medications and medical equipment, he had me take all of the medical equipment and medications out of the bag.
Then, he walked away with all of it to "check it", out of my line of sight. When everything was returned to me, my needle pen was missing the cap. I should mention that I am immunocompromised and i am having neuro surgery in a week, so I need to be extra careful.
The most upsetting part of it all was that, when my wife went to ask if they had seen the top, the same agent decided to come over and start yelling at me telling me that the cap was never there.
So, does anyone know if TSA can request to have your items taken out of the identified medical equipment bag and if they can conduct the hand screening outside of your presence?
Who do yall use? Solaris only sent a month of sensors and none of my other supplies I was due for. Everytime someone assured me they’ll send the remaining amount for three months, it never comes. I’m looking to change companies.
Hey guys! I’m going to get in contact with the billing department but wondering if anyone has had this happen. I went into the portal because my supplies were ready to ship, it said I would pay $0, so I confirmed and then it said that it was confirmed and my supplies would be shipped. I just got a receipt for $555, I’m extremely confused?? Has anyone had this happen? It didn’t show a payment method nor do I have one on file (this is my first order btw, new to tandem).
Hi everyone,
Somewhat new to Tandem, but I've been using Dexcom for a while. I used to upload my data with the Dexcom Clarity app, but now that's not an option since I migrated to using the Tandem Mobi app full time.
Thing is, I've tried Tandem Source, but the Mobi doesn't have a USB port so it can't connect via the USB framework in the Source page. I also tried plugging the wireless charger into my laptop to see if that might do the trick - but that wasn't detected by either the tconnect uploader desktop app or the tandem source web portal.
So basically the question I have for MOBI users only is, how did you upload your data for your doctor? Still using the Dexcom Clarity app?
Appreciate any guidance!
Just curious how well it works, or if it does at all. The iPod has support for iOS 17. Thanks!
So I’ve had my tandem pump for ever now and never had this issue until recently. The past few nights it refuses to correct any spikes in BG at all, or even adjust/do any basal corrections. My profile is set up right, it is reading my cgm fine, pump is up to date, and all the trouble shooting I can think of. Basically throughout the day I am pretty consistent with what I eat and do so I don’t have any problems with CIQ needing to make any major adjustments, but at night is when I become way more sensitive. The past few nights I keep waking up in the middle of the night at 350+ and look to see I have been for about 3 hours. When I check the pump it says it has about 2 units on board consistently, which is super odd that it will not try to correct anything and that’s lower than my basal rate if I were to become disconnected from the cgm. Anyone have any input by chance?
Also infusion set changes are on point and no issues there, the pump just isn’t giving me any insulin outside of a super small amount.
Additionally forgot to mention it’s been in “sleep” mode for some reason, have no idea how, but from my understanding that would be doing the opposite of what’s going on
Does anyone have any experience with the Tru-steel in high impact sports? In my case it's specifically rugby. I wonder about the feeling of an actual steel cannula when directly impacted. The Autosofts are starting to bend up on me more often and I am getting frustrated with the unknown when I change sets.
48, T1D since 2000 just looking for other experiences as I am planning to order a box to try anyways.
