I was curious about how much insulin is left in a cartridge today. I was albe to pull out ~50 units after my pump said 0. This is just insane to me and make me want to go back to my medtronic pump.
Had a, brief sensor issue this morning which resolved itself. Not long afterwards, my pump showing signal loss from sensor. However, pump sitting right next to sensor on left hip. It's been a good half hour or so since signal loss, but I've been getting readings on phone no problem.
Any idea on what's going on here? TIA!
I've only just started pumping after <math> 40yrs of dailies and I stopped counting carbs years ago and just wing it (successfully, a1c 7-7.5 until lately). I'm really struggling with how to figure out rice, though! It hits my bs/bg for 4-5hrs, typically, and previously I'd take 12-14u to cover (typical meals being 10-12). I don't understand how to make my pump my b1tch yet. Any advice?
Aside, am I supposed to initiate correctional bolus for high bs/bg or is the algorithm? It's just not doing a great job of it.
Just curious. Some days I want to throw the tubing out the window, but other days... Control IQ.
I never started a bolus. My pump usually lives deep within my pants pocket. Somehow the "1", "2", "3", and the "Bolus" button are pressed. My pump starts beeping every 5 minutes. I dig the pump out of my pocket to find it's a false alarm! "Incomplete Bolus Alert (11T)" I never pressed these buttons. This problem happens every day. I want this false alarm to stop. I never want to see this alert again.
Right now it's 5am and I am desperately trying to sleep. My TSlim X2 keeps beeping every 5 minutes. SHUT UP! I don't know how to shut this beeping off. My only thought is to disconnect the pump and leave it in another room so I can get back to sleep. No, that would be a fatal mistake.
TANDEM ARE YOU LISTENING ? THERE IS NO NEED FOR THIS INCOMPLETE BOLUS ALERT ! STOP THE BEEPING !
I'm also suffering from this problem for more than 2 years now: https://www.reddit.com/r/TandemDiabetes/comments/1hcztzv/tandem_if_youre_reading_this_please_chill_with/
One idea that came to me last night while dealing with the non-stop false alerts is that if I could disconnect the pump from Dexcom, without stopping the sensor, that would allow me to have a good night's sleep, and then I could connect again in the morning.
However I'm not sure if this is possible. There's only "STOP G6 SENSOR" button in the "My CGM" menu, and you cannot change the transmitter id (to some random id to stop it) without stopping the sensor.
Does anyone know any tips/tricks/hacks to do this?
Hey all! I know it's possible to use pen needle vials to refill your tandem cartridges, but I have a question. When I use vials normally, i'm always taught to inject air in first (the same amount you plan on taking out of the vial), but with pen needles there is no "room" for you to inject air. So do you just straight pull out using a needle from the vial, no air injection? I know that taking from a pen needle vial renders it unusable later for pens, and I'm fine with that. They're both u100.
Asking because I'm prescribed Fiasp in pen needle form, and if I ask my clinic for vials, they'll probably know what I'm trying to do. I plan on mixing it with NovoRapid in a roughly 70 novo/30 fiasp concentrate.
Thanks!!
Anyone know of the best over patch to put on my site, specifically for when it starts to come loose on the first day? The only one that was close was SkinGrip for my Dexcom G7, but it absolutely garbage trying to get it applied.
My alarms are all turned to vibrate but I do not need an alarm that my sugar is predicted to drop, then 3+ that tells me it is low when I’ve taken sugar and it’s coming up, and then super loud beeps that sound like a bomb alert because it again doesn’t recognize my sugar is coming up. This always freaks me out and I end up overcorrecting the low, then I go high, then low again. That’s another issue.
But these alarms are driving me crazy and I’m so overstimulated. I wish we could silence them for (x) minutes like how the Dexcom allows you to.
Apple released iOS 18.2.
I am currently on 18.1.1 on iPhone 15 Pro, and everything is working as expected. When will we know when it is okay to update the software? Does Tandem inform their users through email? Is there a post of some sort that will provide this information? Any help is appreciated!
Might be a big ask but does anyone know about an overpatch that would work for Dexcom g7 and trusteel sites?
I’ve been on mobi for about a week. I changed my site this morning and have been hovering around 250 after changing it and eating breakfast. I keep bolusing but it’s not budging. How long do you usually wait to decide you need to change your site? Thank you so much.
I'm a new Mobi user (switched for the x2). I cannot get the damn G7 signal to stay with the Mobi unless the two are on the same arm a few inches apart. Am I the only one having this issue? Tandem's suggestion was to keep wearing them like that which is not possible given that I change the Mobi site every 3-4 days and the G7 every 10. The math doesn't work out.
I have a tandem t slim x2 and I only ever change it when I get a alert that it failed which is only like once a month sometimes I'll even go 2 months without changing it with no issues.
Thanks everyone. I finally got my Galaxy Watch Ultra to display my blood glucose through the following steps.
You fill out a form with specifications, send it, and a new DexcomG7 app is built and emailed to you. 2. Uninstall the Dexcom DexcomG7 app id needed. Wait 5 minutes for the new DexcomG7 app to be emailed to you. 3. I used the Android Files app to install "DexcomG7_1.6.1.4537c.apk" Your version depends on your specifications and the filename might be different. 4. Cross your fingers, stroke your lucky rabbit's foot, and Open this new BYOD DexcomG7 app. I 5. Pair the Bluetooth with your G7, using the 4 digit code from your latest G7. This should match values in tour pump. This works with the tConnect app running. 6. From the Google Play store, load two apps into your watch: Blose, GlucoDataHandler. 7. In each watch app, specify the source for the data. Log in the Dexcom Share user id and password. This is the same that you used for your Dexcom Clarity and Dexcom Follow apps. 8. Run these 2 apps on your watch. Glucodatahandler gives me the blood sugar and the trend arrow. Blose gives me a graph. 9. Back at the Play store I loaded the Blose Digital Watch face in my Galaxy Watch Ultra. Customise to show blood sugar, trend, arrow and/or the graph.
My pump has always been very quite today at a site change the noise is now very noticeable. Called tandem the pump is ‘new’ (got in Sept) and they tell me normal wear and tear. My other pump I never heard a thing just a light vibration noise. This pump same up until today it sounds like it is wheezing! Has anyone else had this happen to their pump?
I can't find any info on this that affirmatively states what insulins are supported. Can I use any short acting insulin with the mobi? What are the supported insulins?
Edit: I know it's only short acting insulin. I'm referring to this, then in relation to Mobi limitations of the x2 pump.
The t:slim X2 insulin pump is indicated for use with NovoLog / NovoRapid (Novo Nordisk Insulin Aspart) or Humalog (Eli Lilly Insulin Lispro) U-100 insulins.
It is important to note that Admelog is not approved by the FDA for use in the United States for Tandem Diabetes Care products. The safety or efficacy of this insulin has not been tested for use in our insulin pumps.
I want to know what the Mobi is explicitly stated to be usable with. Have they made any changes to increase available insulins. There above article implies they are the same but it doesn't say it explicitly mobi. It's a tslim x2 article ultimately, I'm looking for Mobi documentation.
Can I use novalog with Mobi? Can I use fiasp? Are there any short acting insulins not approved for use?
I'm writing this on behalf of my boyfriend. He finally got the Tandem T Slim x2 and took the pump class yesterday. Since yesterday, there has been four leaks with the infusion sites, and two cartridges that just have decided to not work.
We have both tried placing the sites and filling the cartridges. Between us trying and failing, over 100 units have been put into the trash. I have tried techniques other people with the Tandem do and nothing is working. It's so frustrating for him, and there's nothing helping. His blood sugar is at 511 right now after trying to take 8 units with the pump. He just took 4 units with the pen to make sure it gets brought down, and took a little bit more with the pump to see if this new site works.
Is this common? I've only heard about good things with Tandem, but our experience with this has been incredibly stressful and dangerous. He already contacted the company and sent pictures of everything. What should we do?
Three site changes in a row with brutally painful insertions and then constant pain after.
Like the kind that when it inserts you yelp and swear. So bad. I don’t know how common it is but I just had three in a row - like have to catch my breath level pain when it inserts.
First: Site change. Second: Replace site only due to pain the next day. Third: Early site change with cartridge for pain again.
Is it hitting nerves? Veins? What causes this? And sometimes you don’t feel a thing…
I've heard here and there that sleep mode 24/7 is more aggressive than control IQ (without sleep mode) because it'll increase your basal rate every 5 minutes until your in range, versus not having it on, because autobolus for correction can only be done every hour. Is this true?
In my mind, I always thought sleep mode being off was better for high blood sugars because it does both an increased basal rate AND an hourly autobolus when needed. But, anyone have experience with sleep mode 24/7 for otherwise higher numbers?
Has anyone else been told this and if so was a manual pump offered or taken into consideration?
My pump is charged to 80%.
Yes if I keep refreshing (for eternity) it’ll eventually connect but this is their big fix? To save battery life on the pump? Ugh.
I tried signing out and back in hundreds of times over the last few months. This happens many times a day. This app is just terrible. Yesterday I did a bolus from the app then got an alert the bolus never finished because halfway this happened - app disconnected.
I know the push is mobi but the lack of screen worries me. What do mobi users do if/when their phone dies or breaks? Is the app that much better? Has anyone searched from tslim and been happy about the switch?
Hi! I have a Tandem t:slim x2 pump and this is the second time I’ve had this issue to this extent. I changed my port and cartridge last night, had around 220units in it, went to sleep. I was woken up at 1am by my pump telling me that my cartridge was empty. I knew that it wasn’t, so I went through the motions of changing it, using the same cartridge, and it was fine, read that it had 200units. Now, the next night (about 7pm), it does the same thing, saying that my cartridge is empty - it wasn’t, it should have still had at least 140units. However, when I went to go through the motions of changing it, anytime I clicked on “change cartridge”, i would get the error message that this cartridge is empty and all insulin has been stopped (the same message that pops up when it first empties). This has happened once before, a week and a half ago, and I was able to get through it by restarting my pump at 4am, which then ended my sensor session the day after i changed it. Not sure if it’s related, but this time is also the day after I changed my sensor (the next sensor after that last one). This time, I tried a few times to change my cartridge bc I didn’t want to lose this sensor, and when I pulled my phone out to take a video, it finally let me get through and change my sensor after trying probably 6-7 times - “changed” it with the same cartridge and it’s just saying 60+ units. I’ve had a couple times when my pump will tell me a cartridge is empty and I can still pull 60 units out of it, but it’s only been recently that it locks me out of changing the cartridge altogether.
Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this before? I’ve had this pump just over 2 years, and have never had this issue before the last month or so. I’m in Canada if that makes any sort of difference!
Why do I need TConnect ? Installing TConnect broke the Dexcom server logging. My wife's Dexcom Follow app no longer works. Dexcom Clarity does not work. My nifty DexcomG7 receiver no longer works. And this may make my my new Samsung watch Ultra work to show my blood glucose and IOB. These numbers comee from the Tandem server.
My Tandem container replacement would get a little more difficult, because I would need to update the pairing code on phone and receiver. And other disadvantages ?
Should I get rid of android TConnect and go back to DexcomG7? What do you think, oh Tandem wizards?
I was fussing around the new update and to my surprise, the new update actually unlocks bluetooth pairing with a smartphone.
Now, the app is not available in Canada, but that did not stop me from trying to get it. After some searches, I was able to get my hands on t:connect.ipa version 2.8.2 and sideload it to my iPhone running iOS 18.2 Beta RC 2 using AltStore.
I was able to sign in and pair my insulin pump without issues... until it asks to sync the pump. This will trigger the app to contact Tandem servers and geo locate from where the request is coming from. Since I am in Canada, the app says that there is an issue and won’t let me go any further.
If anyone ever tries to mess with this and is able to enable it, please let me know, as it would be an amazing feature way to long overdue in Canada!
P.S.: I am not trying to involve myself in any legal issue, I am just pointing out that the feature is enabled and in place. This could also mean an imminent launch of the t:connect app in Canada officially and not a bug! If you have any questions, shoot!
I just updated mine. There is a training step in this update that you cannot jump over, you must watch the whole thing before updating. They must have fixed the issue.
I'm waiting on it, but they say Kaiser does not have that pump approved yet.
Anyone have success yet with updating? I keep getting an error message. Called support, they walked me through, same issue. He suggested it might be the volume of users. Said it was definitely their end, and to try again later.
Just got the email, G7 now works with t:slim x2 in Canada!!!!!!!!!!!
