Dancing is an essential part of human culture, regardless of where you're from.
We wish to promote this art form and to allow people from all around the world to share their experiences on the subject of dancing!
In addition to being art, dancing can be a hobby, a sport, a profession, a way to represent your own feelings and thoughts or a form of nonverbal communication.
There is no single purpose or goal to dancing, except enjoyment!

I can’t retain a dance at all. I’ll be learning a choreography and it doesn’t even have to be in a class and I just completely forget everything and freeze. I know it’s not just nerves since it happens outside of class too. I get so jealous when I see other dancers dance so well and they know the dance so well, while I know I can physically do it, I just can’t remember it. Is there any way to improve this? Is it just my memory that’s bad or something? I know people say don’t memorize a dance but I don’t understand how else people do it. Should I try counting while dancing? Any help is appreciated!
Ok so I’m new to dance and I’m doing some deeper squats on some things and sometimes my knees click. No pain, no discomfort but obvious sound. Does that mean I’m outside of my personal boundaries? When i was working out I’d just push through and it eventually stopped, but i am older now and don’t wanna be dumb
im having trouble finding a routine or what to do in general to do this im very lost i have so much to time to practice but have no idea what im doing

Hello. I am currently a 22 year old (M) living in NYC. I am currently pursuing a career in acting, as it is one of my passion. However, dancing has become a serious passion of mine. I’m actually obsessed with it. I kinda learned I loved to dance a little later in my life (20) and didn’t start taking classes until I was 21. I was taking hip hop classes because I felt that was the genre that I identified with the most.
I’m still doing my best to learn the art of dancing. I just feel.. lost. I always take beginner drop in classes here in my area.. which are great.. but I want to grow as a dancer and be the best I can be. It’s just.. I need help and I never had anyone to really guide me in this field. I feel lost in the sense that.. I don’t know how to get better. Sure, I can learn some new moves in the classes.. but something is just missing. Like.. a personal evaluation. Maybe.. learning technique which is something I’m not entirely sure how to learn on my own. I really don’t even know how to practice.
Any advice? I can maybe drop a video later for someone to critique?
I'm moving to Bucharest soon and I'm looking for some good dance studios that offer classes at least twice a week. Any legit studios in Bucharest that offer a good amount of dance styles, preferably some RAD/ISTD classes? I'm a 16-year-old beginner and I love to dance but I'm finding it hard to improve. Any studios there that could help me?

plz give us liked evaluation on Instagram.
for Kyoto Seibo highschool Dance Team.
In this competition, the one with more likes will act later.
It's definitely more advantageous to do it later.
Last year we didn't get any likes at all.
thank you.
Is our team a candidate for champion?
It depends on your support!
Note: Even if you like it on Facebook, it will not work.

Hello! My little sister is planning on going to school for dance in the Fall and she's looking at Hofstra or Pace University for an undergraduate degree. If I understand her plans correctly she thinks she wants to do choreography for videos, but she's 17 and changes her mind a lot. The only thing she is set on is dance. Does anybody know anything about wither of those schools and their programs? Thank you in advance!
I'm struggling with how to learn contemporary and hip-hop dance. It's just not as straightforward as ballet. How do I develop that flow in contemporary and that "groove" in hip-hop? Are there techniques for it? Because every time I try I just looks awkward. Any tips?
As far as I'm aware, dance is traditional to every culture in history and widely considered a cultural universal, like language.
However, dance is not equally popular everywhere. In some countries it is illegal or heavily restricted (Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia); in some cultures, it just became less popular or became associated with professionals during the era of industrialization. In other places, like much of Africa, dance is ubiquitous, and often a part of ceremonies and religious activities.
This has me wondering where dance is most popular globally, and especially where most people are involved in dance as a hobby (like, they go to a dancefloor a couple of times a month or take lessons).
My totally uninformed guess (based on videos, claims from friends, some travel etc) is that it is probably most popular in Latin America, non-Muslim Africa, and maybe India; I would guess that in East Asia, South Korea has the highest number of dancers; in the Middle East, maybe Lebanon or Turkey; in Europe, maybe Poland or somewhere in the Balkans. But I am open to correction on any of this!
And I'm also interested in the ideas of ethnic minorities that dance more than majority groups (e.g I've heard that in the US, African and Latin Americans dance more than white people - is there any equivalent in China, Russia etc?)

Again, beginner since two years ago here
I feel like I’m too scattered, you guys. This month, I’m going back with hip-hop again, cause it’s been awhile, as I’ve been exploring other dance styles, and I’m taking a break from House and Breaking, least I’d get fed up with it. Since I’ve had progress for both of those, I thought the other dance styles I’ve learned before need to level up as well.
So far I do:
drills in the morning, then learn new vocab in the afternoon
freestyle/application/session for fun at the end of the week
Read/watch/research the culture or learn from veterans at night before bed
Anything else I could add or change?
Hi all,
In my early 30s , I have always been an awful dancer even though I enjoy going out and party places.
I used to compensate this by drinking alcohol but I quit since a few months.
Thinking now of taking classes (Hip hop).
- My understanding is that you are never too old to start dancing ? (I would consider myself as fit). Or is that possible that someone can never dance properly ? My mindset is that practice makes perfect and I am ready to put double efforts to reach my objectives.
- Thinking to take first private lessons and once I have good basics I can join a group. Would that be a good idea ?
I came across it while trying to learn choreography.
I’m new to learning choreography and I’ve been watching some videos and I noticed when I am able to understand each movement when I go to actually do it my body moves completely different then what I want it to unconsciously. I unconsciously do movements and etc. Any tips on how to help with this? Or maybe I just need to focus on one thing at a time? First master the leg choreography and then the arm choreography and then put it all together?
Hi! I'm an art and animation student and for part of one of my final projects I will be animating (through rotoscoping) a dance solo, preferably in a contemporary ballet or normal ballet style. Originally, I was supposed to get a video from one of my friends that does dance, however that unexpectedly fell through this week so now I'm scrambling to find new footage. (I can't use a random video from the internet, I need something that the dancer has given me express permission to use). Preferably I would need the footage by this Tuesday April 2nd, though I can wait until Thursday if need be.
Dance/video requirements:
Below are links to some routines/clips that have similar dance styles to what I'm looking for:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2icFmQyABk/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== (this one is quite different but I'm willing to look into additional dances in this style)
If you'd be willing to submit a video for me to look through and use please message me and we can figure something out, thanks so much!!
Do you go out to clubs or festivals? Are you part of a group that meet regularly? How do you keep on dancing?
The little foot shuffle @ 0:12 https://youtu.be/Ob7vObnFUJc?si=UVoMrAlsXsFbG-Qd&t=12, what is it called?
I want to learn how to do it but I can't find tutorials because I don't know what it's called ;[
hi...i don't have any dance experience except for getting paid to get people to dance in clubs...but i was wondering...i would really like to volunteer or possibly get small stipend in helping autistic people or other disabled people to open up with dance....what skillset or education etc would I need...how do I go into this...considering I'm already in my 40s! I am pretty good with people with disabilities just due to life experiences and really love dance. I would love to be able to merge the two but like I said...I don't purport to have any education (I don't even have a college degree actually) in special education or in dance. Without laughing at me, could anyone recommend something? Please.
Hi, I’m looking for cool dance camps in Europe. I’m a beginner at dancing but I want to challenge myself and join a dance camp. I’m interested in various styles such as hip hop, freestyle, choreography. But I’m pretty much open to everything. I just want to dance! I’ve learned about Wildnation in Hungary which sounds amazing but unfortunately the dates don’t work for me. Any other suggestion is highly appreciated, I just has to be beginner friendly 😊
