Are dance troupes for adults (specifically hip-hop) a thing? If so, anyone know any good ones. I’m interested in performing or just YouTube videos…
I just took my first ever beginner dance class and I absolutely loved it! It's only once a week so I'm looking for more stuff to do in the meantime.
Can you recommend some video classes that I can follow along and have fun with?
Thank you very much<3
Hi! I’m taking up urban / hip hop lessons again after a couple of years, but i’ve gained some weight and i’m slightly overweight (one of the reasons i decided to join is because i know it’ll help me with my weight control and confidence) My question is, what clothing would you advise i wear for my lessons? I need something comfortable but that won’t make me feel like a whale while dancing. I know this can come off as a weird question, but I just want to feel like my best self while dancing. Thanks in advance!
Hello,
I've tried a dance class of hip hop this week and I liked it ! Unfortunately the teacher was absent and the guy teaching was just there to replace the teacher , and apparently the teacher's friend.
I have no doubt that if i enjoy next class, I will enroll it for sure.
It's my first time doing hip hop and there is so much to learn. I would be interested to attend events like dance battle and such but I don't find a lot of them, or in the next months. I'm a complete beginner in hip hop. I've danced for a year and a half in belly dance but it's totally different of course. Im still a beginner as a dancer.
I'm from Belgium and I was looking for events gathering dancers in Brussels mainly or Liège (city). I would like to know more about it and it would be great to meet new people who wanna share their passion and such !
I may also be interested to learn about your experiences, in European countries, how you got to learn dancing (street, at home, videos, class) and is there a community of dancers in your country ? I'm curious of how the life of a dancer is, especially when he/she wanna be semi professionnels for example
Thanks everyone
Im 33 year old woman. Im overweight but ive always had a love for learning to dance. When i was younger i could follow rotuines from videos but now im serious. I really want to start. Where should i start. I live in Arizona.
Hey guys! I'm 24YO girl and really interested in learning hip hop dance. I've followed some tutorials on YouTube, but I'm hoping to bring the experience to a more serious setting and look into joining classes.
Most of the dance studios at my city offer dance class packages (such as Intro to Hip Hop Classes over 4 weeks), for example - but I'm curious as to how you guys get additional practice in? If I complete my Intro to Hip Hop Classes package and want to progressively improve, but aren't good enough yet for the next level, for example...do I just keep buying additional Intro to Hip Hop Classes? I imagine that would get quite pricey and likely is not the most effective way to improve. Or would you look into getting private classes to focus on the basics?
Or, honestly - would you just continue following YouTube videos online? I really want to properly larn the fundamentals of Hip Hop dance rather than just learning specific choreos online. :)
I'm all really new to this so any tips would be so appreciated! Thank you guys so much <3
So, I always liked street dances, especially the hip hop ones or similar. What I liked the most were the crews and the dance battles. And I wanted to know of there's a way to find places where they do them. I know there's stuff like the World Hip Hop Dance Championship, but that's not what I'm looking for, I wanted the old style street crew battles, in the streets or clubs, even big events that are prepared around the world, but I want them to be like the old ones, and nit some talent shows. For example, I watched a couple movies I loved, which where the Step Up series, and I was looking for stuff like that, especially the first movies, like the one that had a crew battle event called "The street". I'd be very grateful if anyone could help me.
A little morning motivation 💪

Recently, I have been trying to get into dance, but I have been struggling for motivation for learning new dances. Usually what happens is I want to learn a new dance, so I put on a tutorial and watch it for about 10 minutes before I get bored and stop. I love knowing the dances afterwards it’s just the learning part and the cleaning that is a struggle for me. Any tips on motivation for learning, new dances, and an easy way to clean them because that part always confuses me.
