You know what goes great with copper? Tin! Combining copper and tin brought about the Bronze Age and later gave us pewter. Today's lead-free solders contain mostly tin with a bit of copper and/or other metals.

For making DIY copper coins/bars at home, is it possible to hammer out/sand/flatten in anyway the backs?

I have no experience with any of this so apologies if this may be common knowledge here, but i see a lot of self-poured metal coins/bars/objects for sale online where the front side with the design might look great, but then the backside is all bulbous, bubbly, & ugly.

How feasible is it with copper to make that backside look just as good as the front via hammering/sanding/polishing using basic at-home things? I don't have access to a shop of any kind so just thinking with hand held tools and making small coins & things to satisfy a creative itch

Copper solder

Is there a true copper solder? I got some braising rods and while they look like copper, they braise on silver colored.

Any particular products you can recommend would be helpful. It's for copper art and I want the joints to match the copper.

Glasses nose piece has a patina stain

So I have a pair of glasses and noticed my nose piece has a bluish green stain on it. I assume my nose piece is brass or copper and wondered if I should be worried about it from a health standpoint. It has been there for months.

How can I bend a really small copper pipe?

Hello, I'm trying to bend a 5mm diameter copper pipe for a school project. I've heard that you need bending speings to bend a tube without kinking it, however there aren't any bending springs for 5mm pipes. Any suggestions for a replacement to bending springs? Thank you!

Hi guys, I’m a sparky and I get ton of scraps cable that I scrap from jobsite and strip and then I sell it. I like the idea of making coppers bar tho and was wondering what’s the cheapest and best process you guys would recommend to make like 1kg bar of copper, as souvenir or small gifts for family. Thanks in advance

Removing finish from copper lights. Help.

Whoever made them, did an amazing job on the finish...the inside has a charred look and the outside has subtle touches of verdigris. There's definitely a finish of some kind on them. The seeded glass and wiring have been removed.

Of course I would like shiny copper (which I know will naturally patina over time). I've tried acetone, lacquer thinner, paint thinner (basically whatever was in the garage) but just a small section and wiped off.

Yesterday I coated it in Citri-Strip. I didn't want to leave it on too long so maybe an hour and a half. Hosed them off. Cleaner, but that's it. Today I tried barkeepers friend and wrights. Finally the dremel with the scrubby looking attachment. That finally worked but it's going to take me a year to remove this.

Any ideas for me? What would you do? TIA...
