Chlorastrolite with Mesolite Inclusions ✌️
Had a lot of fun doing an ore pile at CM this July. I found lots of copper, but also collected anything that looked cool. (If you know what anything is, feel free to let me know!) Started cutting open some fun stuff. Really gorgeous!
Ps- does anyone know a GOOD definitive book for ID of Michigan/UP rocks??
Found today! Eeeeeek

With MTU not doing any of the sponsored digs this year I was wondering if we could be pointed anywhere to legally metal detect for copper? Appreciate any help.
Hi all, I’m visiting here for a week and brought a metal detector with me just for fun. What are some good spots for amateurs? And tips?
Love that this sub exists!!
I've been working on an article on the mine and wanted to try and include a historic image of the site. So far all I've found was a really rough picture of the dry house in the Monette booklet and Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps at the Library of Congress. Has anyone had luck finding a pic of it before? Im especially interested in the rockhouse or the boiler/hoisthouse.
