Thank you for the help!
no city states. Real world map. Austrailian city has +23 loyality. I have a lot of mods. Cities dont rebel not sure why. I get 2.6 prod from Ruhr. Its in Antartica. It takes 430 turns to make a harbor
First time playing Civ 6. The morality of these leaders are questionable…
So I won yet another game achieving diplomatic victory and once again I wasn't even really pushing for it, I quite often disable that kind of victory 'cause it seems too easy (almost annoying) to obtain, seems like AI only takes into account world council decisions about diplomatic win points (ie you loose 2 points when you get too close to the 20 point mark) but completely ignores competitions (especially sending help after disasters but also "Olympic games") and more than anything AI is really happy to let you build your statue of liberty for a whopping +4 diplomatic victory points.
In your experience have AI ever achieved (or tried to achieve) a diplomatic victory?
Great Elizabeth I start on standard archipelago, 6 players, abundant resources, new world, legendary start. Gathering storm and all packs/content, nothing but UI mods. I rerolled deity and prince and it worked for both. Map - 904131992 Game - 904131993. Won't spoil it but there are two other wonders not far off. Let me know if you get it to work!
First time playing as Norway, and I usually don't plan my districts that well so I'm trying to take better advantage of it.
Reddit plays civilization 6 (vanilla)
This is a game you, the community, will play! Every turn will be posted on this sub, once a day. Players comment on what the decisions for that turn should be. Whichever comment receives the most upvote is the actions taken.
Previous Turns
Note: It wasn't clear what to research from winning comment, and next highest upvoted comments were split between horseback riding and astrology. Winning comment suggested we pick horseback riding if we plan to go to war soon.
I chose violence.
This was the only comment suggesting what to do with our scout: Scout goes left
Upon discovering a new barbarian inhabited continent, foreign trade was boosted and finished, leaving another choice before the turn ended. I chose Early Empire.
Turn 32
Scout is a bit roughed up from the crossbow.
Aztecs dare to settle a new city close to our borders?

Should we change civics?

I was about to complete a wonder (Statue of Liberty) with 1 turn to spare before the era ended.
An AI beat me to it and my production was salvaged. I had a long list of options that would be done in a single turn. However, I was already going to have a golden age in the upcoming era so I decided to save the choice until the next turn when I was in the new era. I hit shift-enter.
Sad face.
The salvaged production disappears if you do not use it that very turn.
TBH, I think it’s still an amazing testament to the game for someone to have thousands of hours logged in the game and still get surprised by details like this.
Hello everyone. Little question here.
If the borders unite, will both cities get the same housing, amenities and other effects together?
Or is it to individual city?
Got it built. The iron popped up where I wanted to place my acropolis sadly. The HS will be goin to the right of uluru, acropolis will have to go to the left now in conjunction with the Commercial district, IZ and all the rest.
I do have it saved right before the city is settled and now seeing where iron pops up, I might scum and go back
Depending upon my selected victory path determines whether I will build towards war or maintain peace. I always build a good defense of units to protect my cities.
So, I go to war in the Ancient era with warriors and archers. Needless to say, I inevitably get denounced as I continue my war pattern into the classical and medieval eras.
The first thing I noticed about being denounced is that it helps me to a degree in going for a Dom victory. Often times, I’ll be handed a Cassus Belli to continue my war path. With the Cassus Belli, I can usually take one or two cities and not continue to get denounced. This gives me, a player, an advantage. The AI generally sees a Cassus Belli declaration as an acceptable path as long as I don’t take every city.
I also notice that my “friends,” will declare war on my target to assist me.
I bring two or three settlers with me to war to help boost my loyalty pressure for taking new cities.
Hi all -
This is, in some regards, a PC hardware question but I wanted to post it here because it only occurs when I'm playing Civ 6.
When the game enters the main view, I get a high pitched buzz from my rig. It sounds like a fan kicking in or spinning to higher revs. However I can't see any evidence of any temps or fan rpm spiking so I'm really struggling to isolate the issue. I've recently changed my AIO and that had no effect.
It's a nuisance rather than a concern, and doesn't seem to cause any issues. It's just weird!
The really odd thing is that it only occurs in the main view in Civ 6. It happens from turn one onwards, so it's nothing to do with his busy the map is. It stops immediately that I enter the leader screens to conduct diplomacy, then restarts when I'm back in the main map view.
Anyone experienced this?
If I build a coal-fired power plant in a given city, will I be able to replace it with a nuclear or oil power plant in the future?
Can a coal-fired power plant be removed later?
So I’ve gotten pretty good at murder culture where I play like a normal domination game, but with extra effort to maintain 2 or 3 friendships but then I pivot into culture at the industrial era. If somebody has you denounced you can just war then make peace to put them into unhappy state getting the borders and trade tourism opened back up. There’s really nothing the AI can do, and with a big burst you can take the culture win before they catch up into the next era.
I am playing on standard rules. I have gotten to the thermonuclear middles in the tech tree, but for some reason I can’t build bombs. I thought I completed the Manhattan Project, but I can build regular nukes either. When I look at the projects menu, I cannot research the manhattan project nor project Ivy, and I can’t build bombs. What am I missing?
I just downloaded the Vikings Scenario pack and had to take over the map. Took me far too long and not worth it at all lol but I do feel accomplished
So I've got about 200 hours into the game and the Rise & Fall/Gathering Storm DLCs. I can pretty consistently win on Diety with various civs and I decided to go ahead and upgrade to the full anthropology bundle and scoop the remaining civ additions & frontier pass. I've been hesitant to start a game on one of the new game modes, such as secret societies, because I'm not sure how the new additions work into my overall strategy. Are there any other major additions that come with the other DLCs that I should also be taking into accout? And what should I be doing different to incorporate secret societies into my overall strategy?
