Hi everyone, opinions on my speedmax size, everyone says I should go Large to have more reach, canyon says medium for speedmax, large for aeroroad. I currently ride a 58cm Cervelo
I live in a very MTB dominant region. But I've raced on the road for years and I really dislike the position on a mtb. Personal preference, nothing against mtb riders. The Grizl trail is like the perfect middle ground with its front suspension. First ride today and the bike is fast and very stable downhill. Love it! Little adjustment needed on the handlebars, but just did a 4h ride without any issues. Ps, my saddle bag is on backorder so I has to use what I had laying around to carry my spares.
I recently bought the Canyon Grizl CF SL 8 1by EKAR, when it was on sale, which comes with the Campagnolo Ekar 13-speed groupset. In an attempt to adjust the brakes after assembly, I managed to damage two bolts on the front brake caliper. I have since then been trying to identify these two bolts, see the picture below.
I think "bolt 1" is the bolt/screw included in the brake pad kit called "Campagnolo DB-310 Organic Disc Brake Pads", so I have bought this as a spare. However, I have not been able to identify "bolt 2". I have been in contact with several local bike shops and online dealers, but they have not been able to help me.
Perhaps someone here owns a Canyon bike with the Campagnolo Ekar groupset and is able to help me? (PS: I thought I'd post in r/Campagnolo, but the subreddit only has 381 members ...)
Just received a Medium Grizl AL 7. I have a 33" inseam, but I am 6'1.4" tall. This would be my first drop bar bike, I currently ride an XL Trek FX2. I'm definitely making contact with the top tube on the Trek when I stand over it, but my torso makes up for the increased length.
Because I am so close to large on the Grizl, I asked support what they recommen. The first time I asked, they told me to get a medium as is recommended. Because I'm crazy, I asked again after I already ordered the medium, and a different person from support recommended the Large Grizl.
I've read perfectly conflicting views, size down because you can always make a bike larger. Size up because it will be more stable over long rides.
I put the bike together yesterday and the standover height is perfect, but it definitely feels a little cramped when I'm in the drops, the hoods honestly feel fine to a little cramped. When I get out of the saddle, my knees hit the bars. I currently have an 80mm stem which came with the bike, and I currently have an adapter on order so I can fit the bike on my turbo trainer and get a better idea how it fits.
The way I see it I have 2 options. 1) Get a longer stem (probably 100mm). 2) Return and get the Large. Im just worried that if I return and get the Large, it'll be too big and I should have worked with the components on the medium.
Hi there. I’m 174cm tall with 84cm inseam. According to the Canyon metrics, my ideal size is S, but I seem to have longer than usual legs for my height. So I’m worried that the bike might be too long at 54cm (top tube) for me, even though the height seems perfect. Anyone with identical measurements?
old school legend.....Italia Selle Flite. I rode these on all my bikes in the early 90's and decided to give the new re-make a try.
Hi there,
I just came back from my first decent 40km gravel session, had issues with the saddle dropping height (I'll have to figure out why this is happening since the carbon paste had been applied as per canyon instructions, and it was screwed in at target torq...) and especially I probably over-pressured the stock tires (schwalbe Gone RS EVO 40mm mounted with tubes, 45PSI). Most other people in the group were rocking significantly wider tires (litterally mountain bike ones around 50mm) and were flying over the forest track like it was nothing, while I was struggling actually keeping my hands on the handlebar the vibrations were so intense they gave me pretty painful wrists and elbow joints. In hindsight, there are probably a few things I could change to get a more comfortable ride, and since I'm a beginner, I'd love to get some valuable insight from you guys.
My understanding is that to enhance compliance, the best combination is to increase tire width (45mm max from what I've found for this frame), reduce pressure, and go tubeless to allow further pressure drop.
Is there some more advanced trick (like specific tire type for front (to maximise comfort and direction) vs back (to maximise traction) that I should be aware of too?
Any recommendations for what would be "the best" 45mm tire / tire combination for this bike in the wetter season upcoming?
Thanks in advance for your insights!
Woke up at 4:40am to ride 50 miles to catch the "latest" sunrise of the year from the top of a local mountain. Truly stunning.
Want to buy a CP0018 handlebar with a length of 110mm and 120mm. Due to the fact, that Canyon does not sell these, I try it on the aftermarket.
Thanks for your help!
Anyone using the canyon frontlight with mechanical groupset? Does the cables get in the way while trying to mount the light? https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/gear/accessories/bike-tech/lights/canyon-frontlight-set/10006598.html
Hi r/CanyonBikes,
Curious about your thoughts on sizing an Endurace CF. I’m 5ft 10in in height with a 31.7in inseam measurement, which puts me right on the line between Small and Medium.
I’ve generally heard the rule that, “it’s easier to make a small bike ride bigger than a big bike ride smaller,” and have gathered from this sib that Canyon tends to run a little big. When speaking to Canyon chat I was surprised they recommended a Medium. I’m coming from a Fuji Jari (size M) that puts some pain in my hands, signalling a too-long reach distance.
Should I go with the Small over the Medium? No ego here :) just looking for a good fit!
Does anyone else feel that the front wheel is not centred in the fork? Just want to know if others also have the same alignment and then I will reach out to canyon.
It’s hard to get a good picture, but rotor side has a bigger gap, only noticed when I was trying to align my stem.
Hi guys, after a long wait, i’m ready to buy my Endurance, from canyon website sizing chart it suggest an L, howevere i’m close to M size.
I’m 184,5cm with leg of 84cm
I’m not looking to have an increadible aereo position, i would rather have a confortable position.
What are your suggestion?
I’m scared of ordering a M size and find out i can’t adjust well the position
Just did my first 300km with this marvelous Ultimate CF SLX
Hi, I recently acquired a roadlite onfly 7, which has an aluminum frame. I was wondering about decent rear rack options, which is difficult because of the lack of mounting points on the stems. Has anyone had any chance mounting a rear rack on a roadlite on ? Would this one fit : https://www.beastybike.com/porte-bagages-arrieres/6500-porte-bagages-ortlieb-quick-rack.html
Today I went to the LBS to check why the rear wheel is not true. The LBS checked and found the rim is slightly out but the actual problem comes from the Continental GP5K STR 28mm. The rear tire is faulty.
Additionally, the bike cames tubeless ready tire with tpu tube but where are my tubeless valves?? I thought I should have the valves.
Now I have to deal with Canyon for the warranty issue. Has anyone of you had the same issue with the tire?
17.6 KGs as shown, including water.
Saddle bag includes tent, sleeping, mattress and clothes. Frame bag includes tent poles and tools. Top tube bag includes light food and electronics. No handlebar bag yet.
I just got a 100mm stem, anyone looking for a 90mm? I'm in france but can ship.
Superb bike, rely nice with di2 only problem is in dont have the right fit. Maybe some advice where to start of 189cm 88 cm inseam. Thanks guys
After much hesitation, I decided on the Canyon. I took advantage of the last unit on offer at the end of the season, but at the Canyon store in Madrid, they left me a size L.
When I tried the bike in size L I felt like I fit in, but they recommended the L and I wasn't sure, I was thinking about changing the stem, moving the handlebars back...
When I decided to buy it, they just ran out of size L. I spent two days angry for not having bought it before and there was only size XL left, but how was I going to buy it if they didn't recommend it to me...? One night, already in bed, I bought it, I didn't even enter the discount code and today when I picked it up and tried it on... How wonderful!! Perfect. I remember that in the Canyon "cot" my measurements were 190 and 92 cms.
Sometimes you just have to ignore things and let them come.
