I call this one Casita Iguana Verde
This is a cozy Airbnb nestled on a 100-acre farm in Péribonka, Quebec, where I’ve been staying. The farm is home to emus, sheep, goats, peacocks, alpacas, mini horses, and hundreds of birds such as peacocks, hens, pheasants, and quail. It’s been incredible watching the transition from fall to winter here, with the snow blanketing everything in sight.
Dany, the owner, grew up on this land here in rural French Canada, and as you can imagine it’s full of wonderful stories and visuals. The cabin overlooks a small frozen lake, and there’s a trail nearby for peaceful walks. I’m having a wonderful time now working to create a short documentary about Dany’s life, and I’ve begun posting the very first short clips on my YouTube. In this first clip, he discusses the impending pregnancies of two of his farm dogs, anda and Gaia! They are due any day now, and I can’t wait to share the developing story of all of this.

Cozy by the fire
I set my camera to take a picture every 30 seconds for a few hours over night in the fall. Took all the images and stacked them and this is what I got. You can even see the stove burning inside through the door.
This is the latest from our Design Build Company that specializes in unique mountain cabins.
We just had a rendering completed for our clients and we will break ground on it this coming spring.
The scenery in the image is very close to the actual views the home will have. Its a 2br/2ba. Designed for a couple who have truly embraced minimalist living.
Been working all year to get the exterior finished finished by winter. Snow is I. The forecast for next week.

Cabin is built 90% of salvage material, I’m about $500 into it and most of that was for the metal roofing. Everything wood is from salvaged pallets, including the shingles and framing.
Took me a few months but I’m feeling super accomplished. I filmed everything too so it took even more time due to camera fussing.
Full build is a 3 part series so far. Here’s part one if y’all want to see more details:

I’ve been on the road for about a month, exploring the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the backroads of rural Quebec in my Subaru. Recently, while wandering near Lac-Saint-Jean, I spotted alpacas out of the corner of my eye on a quiet country road. I pulled over, curious, and before I knew it, I was being welcomed onto a breathtaking hundred-acre property by a gracious local.
This place is basically out of a dream. An incredible display of Quebecois life for sure. He’s got emus, alpacas, cashmere goats, sheep, horses, and pheasants and a bunch more animals that he cares for very well. The land is beautifully managed, reflecting the care and stewardship of its owner Dany, and I just feel I’ve stumbled upon an inspiring example of authentic rural Quebec life. He’s been kind enough to let me stay here as I’ve taken an interest in his lifestyle , and I’m now filming a documentary about his life and work on this incredible land. He’s got a couple farm dogs that are due to give birth in a a couple weeks, so that should be a wild thing to film.
I’m sharing short clips from this experience on my YouTube channel, along with other highlights from my journey through these hidden corners of French Canada. If you’re into wilderness, rustic living, and stories from the road come you might enjoy what I’m building on my YouTube. I’m also sharing a bunch to my IG stories, so I included a link to that as well. Thanks folks. -Tal

I know it's a little off topic for this subreddit but idk where else to post. This is my cabin and for the past few weeks there's been a knocking from our sunroom and I have no idea what it is. I thought it was an animal from the outside but when I go outside there's nothing. Anyone got ideas it's been driving me crazy
My cabins loft is held up by a beam salvaged from the Tryon palace. Which was burned down in 1798. It was the home of the royal governor Tryon and NCs first official center of government.
