Sorry I missed last week. It’s feels good to see this team playing back in the blue!
Honestly this game looked like an older sibling was trashing their brother on a game of NCAA 24. The ball moved methodically and mistakes were kept to a minimum.
Despite being far from 100% and playing in an arm brace, Jeanty still went off. His yards were at a minimum in the first half but he opened it up in the second half ending up with 31 carries for 149 yards with 2 rushing TD’s and an extra 2 receptions for 31 yards. He made easy work of conversions, made short runs look easy and consistently pushed the pile for extra yards. He currently sits at 1,525 yards and 20 rushing TD’s in 8 games. He caught a holding call that killed a big gain, but I feel like he made up for it with a first down screen pass a few plays later. Also… he unsurprisingly still has zero fumbles on the year. He got off field early in the fourth. Hopefully he takes it easy the rest of the week and recovers before we get into the final stretch of the season.
The stable of rushers as a whole was pretty beat up but they pushed for a total of 219 yards on the ground.
Madsen had the best game of his career. Completing 24 of 32 for a career high 307 yards, 4 td’s and 0 interceptions. He protected the ball, dodged several huge sacks, rushed for 25 yards, looked great in the pocket and while he had a few big overthrows he didn’t make any wonky throws. Showing that he’s the starter for a reason.
Madsen stayed on the sideline for the last part of the fourth quarter allowing Nelson some more valuable snaps. Though limited in snaps, he looked good. His throws looked on target and his movements looked crisp.
The receiving core was amazing, pulling down 322 yards combined. With Caples going for 90 yards and a total of 3 tds, Strachan going for 49 and 1 TD, Camper going for 50 yards, and the local boy Bolt pulling in 18 yards.
Special teams was beautiful. They did let a fake punt sneak by but ehh, tricks happen. And had a few shorter kicks, but once again they looked good. Good extra points. Good returns. Smothering return coverage.
Defenses wise it was a big improvement over my last post. They allowed only 256 yards of total offense. We had a few drops that could have been easy INT’s but we also picked up 2 interceptions, one of them was even returned for a TD. While far from perfect they looked better with their secondary assignments not leaving as many wide open receivers and quickly tackling opponents to not give up to many free yards. They gave up a bit during more in garbage time than probably necessary but at least we’re no longer tied for last in interceptions… though we’ve still only had 4 this year… so…
Even more flowers to our d-line! They did tremendous. Not many sacks tonight, but tons of pressure. They were up against a very talented rusher in Cooper and even though he had a few decent runs he was held to only 94 yards which is less than his season average. In all we allowed 256 yards and 24 points scored against us on the blue.
Big shoutout to the refs for mostly keeping it in their pocket tonight. Happy y’all got a great view of the game but no one is there to watch you, so good job staying of the screen.
All in all, there was a lot of great energy tonight. Jeanty was bait all game long and SDDU couldn’t stop biting. This was a good example of why having a weapon like Jeanty makes us a ranked team. We won a game we were supposed to win. Let’s keep pushing. I feel comfortable that we can break into the top 10 before the regular season ends.
Did he redshirt? I can't find any info on him.

Go Broncos!
Let’s go!!!!!! Prediction Ashton will run for 300 yards and 7 tuddys…. In the first half.
It’s probably not allowed on here so I’m purposefully trying to be vague, but if anyone is looking to go to the sold out game this Friday night I have 2 tickets by each other that I’m looking to get rid of (something came up, not looking to make profit, just recoup cost). Let me know if interested. Will probably even make a good deal.
Maybe it's just me but seems the line against SDSU is kinda high. Most games in this series have been played really tough. I really hope we beat them by 24 but I'm guessing it'll be tighter than that. Hopefully AJ has some space and can click off a couple big runs and not get beat up too bad. 5 games left plus a bonus if they show out! Go broncos!
