The best place on reddit to talk about Asking Alexandria.
Asking Alexandria are an English rock band, creating albums that break through barriers of genres such as metalcore, electronicore, post-hardcore, and heavy metal. They’ve had many lineup changes, mainly when original vocalist Danny Worsnop left the band in 2015, and was later replaced with Denis Stoff. Danny Worsnop rejoined the band in 2016 after Stoff left for unspecified reasons. On December 15th, 2017, Asking Alexandria released their 5th album, which is self-titled “Asking Alexandria”, which is their first album featuring the return of Danny Worsnop after he left the band in 2015.

I think it’s a hit or miss album. I like the songs that have the vibes from their first 2 albums, but I don’t like the Hinder/Creed sounding “dad rock” songs
Looking for genuine dialogue and discourse, not going to entertain trolls. First off I wanna say I’m not a hater of “butt rock” Asking. Personally taking my bias out of the picture I think SWOTI is the best album they’ve released from a song writing standpoint. That being said, R&R is what got me into Asking as well as countless other bands because of their influence. There’s something that stands out over SUAS about R&R. I get why SUAS has the reputation that it does, but imo R&R is a superior album. In a lot of ways it’s definitely softer than the first album but in other ways it’s so much heavier. Mixing those facts with Danny’s more refined vocal melody lines with what I can only describe as a dark 80s rock n roll vibe was just so unique for the time. I’d say just as unique as what SUAS brought to the table, just not as influential. If they were to ask me what era I’d want them to go back to most, it would be R&R era and I think it would fit in today’s music far more than SUAS would. Obviously a bit more modern but I’m hoping ya’ll are getting what il putting down. It’s so much more catchier than the first album but it doesn’t hold back on its breakdowns. And even though I know in retrospect he was miserable, it sounds like Danny is having a blast. More so than FDTD. Maybe it’s all nostalgia for me but I’m just trying to see if anyone else feels the same way.
Also sorry for any typos, I’m freshly stoned lol
Paul was not there. Danny is clearly using backtracks for screaming and not even hiding it. Cleans sounding still very good tho. Thoughts?
Hey everyone I've been thinking about getting a tattoo about asking alexandria for a few years now because of how much those first 3 albums mean to me and influenced my teens and now my 20s but have no idea on what i should get. If you guys have any ideas or have any AA tattoos yourselfs, if you could let me know that would be sick cheers
Holy shit was Asking a letdown tonight. Saw them open for Shinedown years ago full of energy after the self-titled came out. Tonight they were playing to a track and Danny wasn’t even trying to act like he was screaming. Really turned me off from ever seeing them live again.
The song is Where Do We Go From Here by Asking Alexandria. Does my voice work with a song like this? Feedback appreciated!
Can someone help? I cant find guitar amp settings for stand up and scream anywhere. Anyone knows which settings they used?
Is it just me that Danny's Voice here is well "matured" unlike the Newest stuff. Like this album got me into Asking Alexandria in 2016 And said to myself "wow they really blend the 80s rock n roll w/ Metalcore Sound. Sad that now he doesn't have that raspy voice like in 2013.
This era of rock with PTV Asking Alexandria etc had some of the most beautiful vocals but seemed to mostly favor (probably for the fans) the super deep death metal growl which, i love old school death metal but god the early songs wouldve been so good if the choruses were basically the whole song
I see their recent stuff is less heavy and more “poppy” so they sing alot more but the high pitch of the younger stuff obviously isnt possible so it dont hit quite the same. Wouldnt really have this issue if those parts werent so short/infrequent in the early stuff
Got these 3 in the mystery shirt sale they did and I already have all of them unfortunately so I am trying to sell them, all are XL and if you're interested I can send more pics after I'm done work. Shirt on far right has a photo of them on it, nothing on the back on all 3
Hiii i just recently bought this hoodie and I was wondering if anyone knew when these were made
What I’ve been hearing April/May they hitting the road in the US again.
"I used to have a best friend" might be my favourite song of AA by a long mile. The production on their first record was crazy too, these guys are made different.
Just recorded quickly
I wanted to ask the guitarists in the community if they could give me advice on getting closer to Ben's sound on that album, what amplifier or plugins they recommend, since I can't buy the Toneforge® Ben Bruce.
Paul I’m going to need you to sit down when I tell you this, Ben left a hole in AA that you’ll never be able to fill. Yes you do great playing the guitar and helping Danny with the breakdowns, but Ben not only left giant shoes to fill but also in our hearts sorry Paul
