Hey youtube tv -
Can you add a feature that allows us to reorder our library categories? I have to scroll eight categories to get to sports, which I would put first if I could customize. (Oddly, sporting events don't show up in new for you or recently recorded in my library.)
Or if there's a way to do this already, can someone lmk please?
Thanks!
Steaming through my 4K firestick….
I’ve been struggling with a persistent playback error message while trying to watch live TV; despite my efforts to clear the cache and data, uninstall and reinstall the app, and even unplugged both the router and fire stick nothing has worked. Has anyone encountered this issue, and any advice on how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated?
I’m on version 22.r3.v120/web_20241029_16_RC00 both ads and video don’t play as if there buffering but I put of stats for nerds. It buffers plays for a second then buffers again buffer bar is way ahead, still not playing. I’m on a Toshiba fire tv
Considering switching from Xfinity to YouTube TV. Is it worth it?
Trying to record anything this morning returns a 400 bad request error. I've tried on multiple platforms and on/off wifi. Anyone else? I have to imagine this wouldn't just be me.
I saw it this morning. Just wanted to let everyone know.
This is a maddening problem and appears to be between YouTubeTV and our ISP, which is a small local service.
We can stream YTTV through cell service and can stream on other wireless networks outside of our home, but cannot stream YTTV through our home network no matter the television or device. The home network is working for other applications including streaming other channels on the same TV. YTTV worked last night and was not available this morning. We get the message “Whoops Something Went Wrong.” All network gear has been reset as part of the troubleshooting process. Any ideas?
If I’m watching a show and check out other shows is there a way to go back to previous channel. Thank you.
There are several two-hour block news shows I want to record. I select the first hour to add to Library. However, YouTube TV keeps recording just the second hour. Thoughts?
I can see the bar moving but I don't get a preview of the image of where I will "land" once I stop FF or RW. This can make it very annoying when watching something like a sporting match. Thanks!
I am unable to cancel the NFL ticket on auto renewal for the 2025 season. I have called customer support and they cant cancel it. They sent me an email 2 weeks ago and they still haven't cancelled it yet. This is their response
This is Ingrid with YouTube TV Support. I hope this email finds you safe and well.
I am writing to inform you that our higher support is still working on canceling the auto-renewal for your NFL Sunday Ticket. Rest assured, you will hear back from me as soon as there is an update regarding it. There’s no need to reply to this email.
Thank you for your understanding.
I am getting FED UP with the Zen Moment ads being forcefully inserted into my DVR recordings! They are cutting off parts of the shows I am watching. Why are they there? They’re not part of the recordings because they cut off about 15 seconds of the show when the commercials are over.
Is there an easier way to see what’s next on a channel I’m watching? Currently I have to go back>go to live tab>then scroll to the channel.
It seems like it should atleast put the current channel at top or something? Is this something I missed or is there really no easier way?
Using appleTV. I know on phone you can click the channel icon; anything like this exist on tv?
Every time I pause it and come back maybe five minutes or more after words, I press play and the screen stays black while the audio works.
Anything I can do to get it? Had it set to record, I know it aired, but it didn’t record on my DVR. Aired on MTV tonight 8:00 - 9:30 ET. Doesn’t look like MTV airs the episode more than once. Thanks for your help.
Streaming YouTubeTV via Apple TV. Keep having issues with sound dropping out for a few seconds now & then. No issues with any other streaming service (Netflix, etc.). Very annoying.
I tried to watch youtube but got signed out and now it just says something went wrong.
I tried to login via browser and phone app as well as typing the email and password and get something went wrong.
failed to sign in.
This has been going on for a few weeks now --I can get it fine via antenna. I also spoke to WGME tech support and was assured it is not them. My location is fine --my internet is fine--router is fine.
BTW Does anyone ever answer these posts?
I'm trying to get a refund where I had a free trial for youtube tv. I canceled several days before my card was supposed to be charged. They charged my card plus turned my subscription Back on. I just want to speak with customer service this is ridiculous. Any advice?
We use YouTube TV through Roku streaming box. We now have my 94 year old grandfather staying with us, and he can't figure out the Roku remote to navigate channels (yes, we've showed him, but... he's 94). Does anyone have suggestions of different remotes, maybe universal remotes, that are compatible with YouTube TV and would allow him to change the channel by pushing up or down? I see a few universal remotes that claim to work with Roku, but I'm not sure if the channel buttons would still work on YTTV or if it's just not set up with that functionality.
Ideally, the fewer buttons on the remote, the better, but I'll take what I can get.
Forgive me, as I've read all the FAQs but didn't see this specific item when I searched. I'm looking into getting YTV. I own a property with a main house where my family lives. But on the property (about 500' away) is what was an old workshop. I have since turned that workshop into a Man Cave.
My only concern is my main home and the Man Cave run on two different internet providers for the time being. (Intend to change, but right now it's just easier not to run the line, etc.) I simply want to have YTV in both my Man Cave and the main home. Is this going to be an issue? I'm not looking to share the account with anyone or anything like that. Literally just another building on my property, but on a different WiFi provider at the moment.
Will this be an issue?
It's almost {CURRENT_YEAR+1}. Why can't Google let us mark a show as watched on the Android TV app by long-pressing the remote's main button?
It is annoying having to do it in the mobile app or in a desktop browser when most people primarily use YTTV with the Android TV app or a Roku/similar device.
Roku Ultra, going through a Yamaha AVR to nice speakers, brand new Roku Ultra. We have to turn the volume up to over 50 (out of max 90) to get volumes that are "normal." When we switch to any other app, such as Hulu, Netflix, Prime, Peacock, Disney, etc. the sound is WAY too loud at that volume.
This was the same way when we were connecting the Roku Ultra to a soundbar, so it's not the audio system. Brand new Roku Ultra, replaced a faulty older one. I've rebooted the Roku, reset it (a pain because I had to reinstall/re-sign in to a number of apps) etc. Again, on every app EXCEPT Youtube TV the volume is "normal" so this is isolated to Youtube TV. I have uninstalled and reintalled the app. I have seen some threads where people say to turn off the 5.1 sound; we like the 5.1 sound on a lot of shows (in fact we were petitioning YTTV to finally get 5.1 sound!) so that is not an option. The volume is the same on ads and shows, so this has nothing to do with that.
A real pain. We've just about blown out speakers switching from YTTV to other streaming apps! Thanks for any help/fixes.
I noticed this morning that when I play back a DVR recording on my Roku tv the progress bar marker (the thing that shows where you are within your playback) is at the very end, right from the start. It also shows a crazy number of minutes for the length of the show. For example, a 1/2 hour recording I watched earlier showed that it was over 2200 minutes long. And the one hour show I'm about to watch now says it's 1485 minutes long. What gives? (BTW, I quit out of the app and went back in and it is still doing the same thing. Impossible to tell where you are within the recording.)
I am not good with understanding this nfl package deal with the red card and I swear I have been trying to understand everyday for a week and I am just too stupid to comprehend what im reading. If anyone is kind enough to have the patience to help me before I call youtube themselves for customer support, I'd be grateful.
My parents had me purchase them the nfl Sunday ticket hoping they would be able to watch the eagles game in nj. They told me adamantly they wouldn't need the full youtube tv package with the nfl ticket, only the ticket itself. So I purchase the nfl ticket and now 2 weeks later they have told me that the local games are blocked under their YouTube app and can't access local games.
How can I get my stepdad this eagles game in his house by Sunday? Will the youtube tv regular package give him access to watch local Sunday games or is there another app like paramount plus or something that can stream them. Please help me help my parents because they have been driving me insane and I'm just a gay guy who hates sports who grew up as a poor millennial without technology who doesn't understand any of this. I really need someone to hold my hand and explain these packages to me because I'm stupid.
This recently started happening and I'm not sure if there's any way to troubleshoot. We watch yttv through a Chromecast. Last night my wife was watching something and it was basically unwatchable due to the spinning circle.
She unplugged and replugged the Chromecast but it was still an issue.
Disney and Netflix worked fine. Those are all though The same connection.
Anything I can do to figure out why this happens or how to fix?
I'm going to try to just use the TVs built in apps to see what that does.
But if other apps work fine through the Chromecast, why wouldn't yttv?
Any thoughts?
not sure how to describe the problem. buffering. pixelated.
only channel affected. all screens in house the same. have restarted chromecasts as well as rebooted. commercials run fine. where to go from here? wondering if HULU would be better at this point.
Today I noticed there are yellow dots scattered across the timeline on my DVR recordings. What are these for?
I thought it might be to indicate where the commercial breaks are, and some do line up either where commercials begin or end, but for the most part they don’t.
Why are they there?
Wasn't this against Google Play policy some years ago???
