Hi everyone! I’ve been using YouTube music as my only music streaming for a while now. I love that it’s included with YouTube Premium.
I use it 5 days a week all day at work. I like to find an album to start my day and love that it continues to play similar music once the album is done. However, it will play the same songs over and over. It will the go back to the initial album and replay songs then go back into playing songs by other artists it already played. I eventually just go find a new album to listen to.
Anyone else notice this?
We all have artists we don't like in genres we do like. It would be nice to have a don't recommend channel or artist option like on YouTube.
I'm trying to listen to songs without supporting bad creators, so I tried to just put videos into my playlist but Everytime I do, the original song is placed there instead
So if I listen to music on my phone, then listen on my Mac, is there a way for YouTube to remember whatever song was playing on the phone and display it in the now playing on the website app? Or vice versa?
I know the recently listened keeps up to date but the actual song I'm in the middle of listening to never transfers from one device to the other.
I pay for family plan and I am disappointed that I pay that much every month. looks like I reached the device limit as I found out while trying to download songs for offline listening in the plane. I connected with support but they basically said you have reached the device limit and they cannot reset it until Jan 2025. I asked what counts as the device as I don't have that many devices other than laptop, tv, ipad and chromecast devices. basically got a reply saying thats internal information LOL. if that's the case then, why not remove the oldest device and let register a new device automatically but they don't do that either. Now I have to wait till Jan 2025.
Hi guys, i just spend an hour or so syncronizing my main spotify playlist with its ytm counterpart (adding songs i missed, sorting them in the same way as on spotify).
Now my Spotify playlist is 333 songs (4 songs arent on spotify yet, i noted them down to add once they release) and the ytm one is 338 songs, i went through both song by song twice to find the missing one without success.
Is there a easier way then having to check again (most probably missing the discrepancy again) which song(s) are missing on spotify?
Songs i already know are missing:
(Edit: - fixed hypelinks and re-added stuff reddit cut off)
When I used Spotify desktop app I could pause/play any music with the 4 finger click on trackpad, but now I'm paying for Youtube Premium, which has no ads on Youtube and has access to Youtube Music. But the integration that the Spotify has with the desktop app is a million times better than the Youtube Music website. Is there a way I can use these buttons to change music and play or pause music without opening the Youtube Music website (obs: I'm using a desktop app, pretty much the same as using the website but with a dedicated icon on taskbar)
I was just wondering?
i’m using the app and the auto download playlist is my go-to. it hasn’t updated in days like it normally does even tho i’ve listened to plenty new songs on repeat. it’s pissing me off bad rn
it’s also not letting me delete anything anymore from the playlist. i used to be able to have the option to remove a song (still wouldn’t work of course because this app is buggy thank u youtube music) but at least the option was there. please help or at least lmk it’s happening to more than just me, thank u
Hey guys,
kinda a stupid question I know, but does ytmusic use up my mobile data / internet when I listen to my pre downloaded playlists? Does it notice that it is downloaded and doesn’t use any until I listen to a not downloaded song? I also cannot find anything in the settings except “only download with Wi-Fi”, so I guess it is detecting the downloaded songs?
I am asking this question cause then I will turn off my mobile data while travelling, cause I can’t afford to use it all up for listening to music.
Appreciate it!
But nah I have to have a subscription. I’d rather pay for Spotify’s 11 dollars. Shit. Got me all edged up just for me to pay for BACKGROUND LISTENING. Tf? Pmtfo. Why in the deep debts of hell does every app do this. They got you a nice thing and then nah you gotta pay bruh. With no warning. Maybe I’m getting old and didn’t see this. I’m broke.
Hey all, I’ve been using the YTM app ever since it converted over from Google Play Music. I’ve loved my experience with the app ever since, but today I encountered something super odd. I was listening to music while studying, which is nothing out of the ordinary, and somehow over the course of under an hour my phone lost 50% of its charge and my phone felt notably hot. I looked at the battery usage report, and my phone says that YTM was responsible for 88% of battery charge consumption during that time window. Since then, a similar pattern has been happening re battery usage and temperature increase, and it’s only when YTM is playing music.
Does anyone have any idea as to what might be going on or how to fix this? I’m an iOS user, 14 Pro. Thank you!
You can search for songs and other content from your library on YouTube Music, but for many it works like crap. I search for a specific song and I get results for songs that don't even have the slightest resemblance in name. How is it that having one of the best search engines in terms of song recognition by search, it fails in what would be the easiest thing???
Whenever I play any music it stutters and then stops playing. I'm a premium member and have been for the past 2½ years, this makes the app unusable. Any help appreciated.
Does anyone else have this message on their screen while watching video podcasts in the app?
"2024 United States elections - The AP has called the presidential race for Donald Trump. See more on Google."
This message is on top of the video. It does not go away. I cannot make it go away. I am well aware of the election results and I don't need to be reminded.
This is happening both on my phone and tablet (both android).
I have been using ytm for years now and over the years Ive felt the algorithm has changed for the worse. Literally the same music plays every single time no matter what song I select or what playlist. I have learned to deal with this, but it seems like it’s worse on my iPhone than it is on my android. The app has more bugs and it’s sometimes unusable. Is this just a me thing?
i want to cancel, will someone help
When you put out a product that has competitors on the market, at least have a look at them and see what they're doing better, no? I don't see why a music streaming service in 2024 doesn't have the following:
- Option to sort songs by name, artist, or album. And the order in the image is something I can't figure out
- Option to just view the offline playlist. Why would you make it so that every time you click on the playlist, it just plays the first song?
And the cherry on top, the experience on windows is just laggy as hell.

Hello folks, I have encountered many issues with the app. First and foremost gapless playback doesn't work on my premium account in the download section. I tried everything that the IT support gave me, browsed forums but nothing works. As well as I had my albums in reverse order for some reason. Does anyone know how to fix these issues.
yes, i know theres tons of apps that boost your bass but it does it for your entire system. i need one that only boosts youtube music and nothing else
can anyone help pls
I am probably switching back to Apple Music and just uploading missing songs from my Mac and using Brave for ad free YouTube.
Will they be able to see my Playlists and liked songs and stuff like that?
(I'm asking for a friend..)
Yesterday (November 11th), my channel was removed from YouTube for violating hate speech policies. I'm pretty sure it was due to my username, as I was acting like an edgy teenager (I’m 16, sorry) when I created it. I was fine with that—I didn’t mind, after all, I broke a rule. But for some reason, I can't access YouTube Music anymore. It just won’t let me. When I try to sign back into my account, it says that this action isn’t allowed. Based on everything I’ve read and researched, that shouldn’t be the case; I should still be able to use YouTube Music without a YouTube channel. That’s literally what I’ve been doing this whole time (I created the channel around November 5th). It won’t let me see or access my private playlists, liked songs, history, etc. I can't access my account at all. I literally paid for my subscription just recently (around November 9th), and now I have no idea if there’s any way to move my data and subscription to a different account. I did submit an appeal, but honestly, I think I’m just being impatient right now. Correct me if I’m wrong, but from everything I’ve read and researched, YouTube Music and YouTube operate somewhat differently, so I should still be able to use YouTube.
The Google account I created the channel with is fine—there’s nothing wrong with it, and everything else seems to be in order. It doesn't even give me the option to download all my data or move my playlists anywhere else, not even a refund or anything. Nothing at all.
I just don't know what to do. I live for music like come on man. I really want to know if anybody has had a similar issue. ಥ_ಥ
i've been seeing people around the sub getting their 2024 recaps already, but i haven't gotten one. is this something that will roll over slowly over users or is it regions based or something else?
i live in indonesia, for reference.
