I was just interested in seeing how many folks here have heard of/been to a Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights game? The team plays in the North American Hockey League which is a Tier II junior league so you get to see some future Division I players and future NHLers in town (2015-16 defenseman Dmitri Zaitsev was drafted by the Washington Capitals last June). Since the tickets are so cheap it's a good hockey fix when the Penguins are out of town and they always do family friendly themes which they announce on twitter (@WBSKnights).
Looking at getting either a whole season or a half season ticket package. The weather this winter is going to play a huge factor in my decision here (farmers almanac anyone?) as I don't live in WB/Scranton.
I have actually never been to a game here...and am new to the area. Where is a good place to sit? (other than center ice obviously) If you are a season ticket holder what perks do you enjoy the most? Where do people hang out?
Thanks!
Hey everyone, I created r/WheelingNailers. Feel free to come and subscribe. As of right now, the page is pretty bland because I don't have much time to invest into the CSS at the moment. If anyone is interested in making it look good, shoot me a message and I can add you as a Mod.
Terrible stick penalties, terrible coaching decisions. Just terrible.
I find "baby pens" to be a pejorative term. I think across the AHL the WB/S Pens are one of the premier franchises in the AHL. It really grinds my gears when people call them the baby Pens. Over the years I've met a lot of Pit fans, and I've always pointed out that Baby Pens belongs in the same category as calling the Rangers the Rags, etc.
Just wondering....
Tonight's game is Matt Murray's 4th shutout in 5 games against the Springfield Falcons. The only goal he gave up against the Falcons in his career was the unfortunate one that ended his record setting shutout streak.
Dude has been abysmal in the second half of this season. I don't think now is the time to be hoping he'll come out of his funk. Hartzell. Now. Please.
The first live game thread!

Hey guys, I recently moved out to Scranton and have started following the babypens. I've been added as a mod of this subreddit. I'm a mod of the Rockford Icehogs subreddit and am a big AHL fan. I hope we can get this community rolling again and maybe even attract some new fans.
Let's go BabyPens!
