VR Artistry is a subreddit for art created from within virtual reality. This mainly includes work in Google Tilt Brush and Blocks, Oculus Medium and Quill, and other popular apps for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Playstations VR headsets.
Good places for hosting/showing models are places like Sketchfab and Artstation, and for video there's the ever-popular Youtube and Vimeo. In addition to art itself, meta content and tutorials are also encouraged.

Hi everyone, I'm conducting research to better understand the biggest challenges VR developers/ studios face when bringing their products and experiences to market. Are costs and networking among your top concerns? Or something else?ย I'd love to hear your specific experiences and any examples you might want to share.ย
Thanks!
Using an unexpected app to create a VR mural.
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a VR experience I've come across called Facades VR that just launched on Meta Quest. It's something different, a blend of dance theatre and cinematic wonder, inspired by iconic moments from film. The trailer is here:ย https://vimeo.com/746950220
Would love to hear your thoughts if anyone has tried it or is planning to, people have found it to be incredibly moving and surreal so far!
Let me know and I can share the download link.
Cheers,
Jon
Long, long ago I built a 3D modeler called "ProBuilder" for the Unity game engine, it's been amazing to hear from so many artists it helped, now I'm trying for something even better with Polysketch!
The core idea is super, super simple - sketch out lines in VR space, connect to form surfaces, and so forth, to create all your objects, worlds, characters, etc :) There are some extra tools like Extrude, Cut, etc of course - but this is the core. No fancy gizmos/widgets/etc.
I've already seen this work super well for a few starter artists, would love to hear how it works for folks here! It's free over on the Quest App Lab, please take a peak and share some creations perhaps! Thanks for looking!! ๐
When I was looking there weren't many codes that had not exceeded the users quota for the year. These ones work for 25% off VR games as of 28/05/2024. Enjoy!

Hi I just try to ask here, idk where I should go. Official quill forum seems to be dead. If somebody know. If I want import 3d model into quill. But want it separated into groups/ layers etc. not just one solid object. It should be pissible. I saw some video tutorial and it is somehow posible. But OBJ from Nomad sculpt for example put everything into one layer. Trough which program or which format should I go with my models ? Or somebody know some quill forum alive ?
this is a work in progress not sure how i feel about the lighting and ground icing texture, worried it looks like blue poop. lots more to flesh out w the hull brush
I will be your new mod for now until we get more.
I don't really used reddit anymore so the sub is up for grabs!
What are the best VR art apps? Iโve been using PSVR2 but the drawing apps are super limited but I did find you can paint in Horizon Call of the Mountain.
Hi Everyone!
I'm with team VIVERSE, HTC VIVE's free and open virtual worlds platforms and I'd like to share a video I made that might be relevant to this community.
I created a quick guide on bringing your Open Brush art to VIVERSE, giving you the ability to create a shared experience with anyone using a simple weblink .

Hey everyone!!! ๐ Just a sneak peek of the work-in-progress on the 3D print for the WOS Art Toy. It's not the final version, but I couldn't be more thrilled with how it's shaping up in the real world. ๐จโจ
I designed and sculpted the character in Quill, and made a clean up pass in Nomad Sculpt, then straight to Lychee tool for 3D printing.

I have not found a community of VR Artistsโฆ not that I have looked hard enough. Anyone out there? [out there? [ut there? [there? [ere?]]]]
My girlfriend and I were watching the exhibit on MTV and she was struck by what one of the artists was using. She prefers to work with her hands and doesn't understand how I can be in front of a computer for a few hours and come up with a piece of art. "That seems like something I could get into," she said, "cause the problem working digitally is that I can't use my hands." So now I have to get her this, but if y'all could tell me how to go about doing this, I would be most appreciative. The second pic just seems like an Adobe product tho?
