Hey VJ community! I’m on the hunt for some visual packs for an upcoming skiing event at a local ski resort. The event will be outdoors, around the ski lifts, so I’m looking for visuals that fit the ski theme. If anyone has a pack for sale that would work for this, I’d love to support fellow VJs before checking regular sites. Thanks!
Music by me too
Some audio reactive shape generation with layers of random manipulation and noise.
Track is Flight FM by Joy Orbison
Any VJs out here who are touring with a DJ, could you describe what a day in your life looks like? Travel, set up, stress level, performance/visuals planning or if you do it in real time, are you home often, do you do more jobs, etc?
Katsuhiro Otomo was the first artist to really blow my mind creatively as a kid. It's still so powerful even today.
And The Shadow by Rob & Goldie (mixed by the dude from underworld no less. Rick smith.) still one of sickest drum and bass tracks ever made.
And @tachyon+ made the most intense psychic break. All circuit bending off some crazy set up he made. It's wild https://youtu.be/TXLZaaCNTtc?si=SfrHT5CsgXGGvoL_
Iove the creativity of this community. I've been having a lot of fun with is this project. Basically just a way to take back my own personal YouTube feed lol. Visually remixing some of my favorite stuff into a new interpretation. Using a custom mirror kaleidoscope rig I built.
Trying to see how far I can push physical artwork and real matetials as a visualizer. This clip I also started playing with OBS video camera feedback. Just trying ng something "analog" and the predictable.
Yea. Hope you guys dig it.
Come get inspired and uplifted with this legendary guest!!
so ive been making cover art and short animations for spotify canvases in procreate and procreate dreams (last release is pictured.) very new to VJing. ive been trying to time out elements by creating a 8 sec clip “going” at 60bpm, which i then time scale using after effects to adjust to the desired bpm. i also use some other clips that have a beat of 145bpm. is the a tool in resolume that will allow me to use these clips better? i know i can adjust the speed of a clip but that doesnt seem the most practical
I have HDR turned off on my monitor, the visuals I rendered still had very muted colors when projected, but looked awesome on my LED monitor.
I had to go back and increase the brightness, saturation, highlights, black levels in davinci resolve to get the renders looking good on the projector.
Do you have a “projector profile” on your monitor to mimic the projector’s colors, to get the brightness/colors looking good from the first render?
Hey everyone,
I’m looking to get to the bottom of a ShowKontrol issue, and wondered if anyone had any ideas. I’ve sent an email to support (screenshot attached), but looking for any advice or info anyone may have.
Thanks
Hey guys,
I just finished my second show that used Watchout for addressing the LEDs and again it was a complete disaster. Different setup, different city, different LED guy but yet again there were so many issues. Granted I live in Turkey which has lots of issues with this type of work but now I fear any show that is using Watchout. The production companies act like it's a gift from God but it's only been the opposite for me.
Inputs not working, incorrect mapping, terrible scaling, the list goes on. I've gotten to the point where I'd like to learn watchout myself and take it over next show so I can be sure everything is done correctly. The operators act like they're doing rocket surgery and I'd never understand but it's sabotaged two of the biggest shows of my career at this point and I'm fed up.
What are your thoughts and experiences on Watchout? Is it easy to learn coming from TouchDesigner/Resolume/Unreal? 🚌
Any VDMX users around? I only see people mentioning Resolume. Is it because VDMX is mac-only?
Any visuals for free or paid? I'm looking for an event I'll be VJing this 31 thanks 🙌🏻
Hi everyone!
I’m working on a project with over 1000 DMX universes in MadMapper. Editing each universe manually in the .madart
file or CSV is impractical. I tried adding universes and editing IPs manually, but even small changes make the file unrecognizable in MadMapper.
What I’ve tried:
.madart
in Excel, but formatting was messy and minimal changes caused errors.Looking for:
If anyone has insights, resources, or automation tips, I’d be very grateful. I’m a professional in Brazil, where local resources on MadMapper are limited. Any help is appreciated!
.madart
no Excel, mas a formatação ficou desordenada e alterações mínimas causaram erros.Estou buscando:
Se alguém tiver dicas, exemplos ou formas de automatizar isso, agradeço muito! Sou profissional no Brasil e aqui temos poucos recursos sobre o MadMapper. Toda ajuda é bem-vinda!

Hey, I'm super new here, so apologize for any mistakes
Is it possible in any way to make visuals that are audio reactive, and then give them to an artist (in a file or something) - so that they can start/play them without the VJ being there? From what I can figure out, it doesnt seem possible, especially not with Resolume, which im used to. Let me know if theres anything to do? Thanks!
HI! I need to clarify a doubt of mine. I'm preparing some material for one of my projects, now I'd like to take care of the visuals that can be used even on large screens during DJ sets. I'm thinking of making a hand drawn animation. My doubt concerns the resolution I should use to be able to have good quality on large screens (such as that of events) or what type of file I should use, what I should pay attention to in the project. Thanks!
Hey, so basically i want to project 1280x320 on a background. My problem is, that in touchdesigner when i use my seperate perform window in 1280x320 on a seperate monitor(desktop for example) it doesnt cover the whole screen, but when it does it has black borders. Will those borders be projected aswell? Will the borders even be visible or do i now have to "map the borders away"(really cant explain it better as im a beginner) Thanks
Howdy folks! I've been investigating laptops (yes, another one of those), in the Australian market. Something with an nvidea 3080 in it at least (a 4080 would be nice), 32gb ram, decent storage, 3 video outputs, and probably an AMD processor. Primary uses will be rendering, resolume, and Touch Designer, though I've used Unreal a bunch for work (game dev) so I might start throwing that in the mix too. All I can seem to find, however, is laptops on special full of those fun Intel 13th/14th gen chips that are fast on their way to becoming landfill. Or, they've got an AMD processor, but only a lower end GPU. There's not much on the market at all that seems to fit my needs, and I'm willing to part with up to 4K AUD. Some of the local sellers have already started their black friday sales however.... for all the intel filled models. It's been remarkably hard to find anything from the regular big brands that actually seem to fit the bill.
I've had a good scour of the local secondhand marketplaces, and haven't been a huge fan of what I've found. I'd rather avoid the ebay route too if I can- I'd prefer to nab something from a reputable seller with a warranty, and at least some customer support.
Has anyone got any suggestions, or is the whole market just a bit cooked at the moment? Is there ANYTHING out there that's not a lemon, and will actually do what I need? Or is it just a case of hunker down for 6 more months, and hope that the next gen isn't as bad as the last?
Let me know what you think and what can be improved.
