How does it make you feel? What do you see when you watched the video? Is there anything you liked/disliked about it? I appreciate your comment.
I’m a dancer with a larger bust can yall tell me the best bra with the best coverage and support and
I mainly do lyrical, contemporary, and jazz styles, but i do other subjects as well. I get feverish and sweaty easily, so my go-to outfit for practice is briefs and a sports bra. I also try to wear movable clothing and that’s the most movable for me and my body. People in my class look at me weird bc they’re all wearing a leotard or t-shirt and then there’s me, half naked. I’m not pro yet, but do professional companies care how much or how little clothes you wear? Advice needed pls and thx :)
I have my first solo this year and in it two triple pirouettes. I land them sometimes, but I'm worried I'll get on stage and not be able too, ideally I would have a solid triple in three weeks, any advice? I keep searching for exercises and stuff, but does anyone have anything to share that actually worked for them?
I just find myself too focused on the choreo to take care about expressions too🤣 Moreover I don't want to look like I'm bragging or showing too much confidence, I prefer something softer. Any tips??💓💓
CRITIQUE IS WELCOME!! But some details first! This was my first dance performance ever and I did it on a whim when a drag performer had to drop out of a festival I was volunteering at.
I’ve been learning dance from the internet and YouTube for years, just so I can exercise and have fun, but this dance makes me feel proud to watch because it was for my friends I was volunteering with when we needed something fixed in a pinch!
The umbrella wasn’t something I felt confident dancing with and I kept having a wardrobe issue while carrying it, so harsher criticism after I discard it is very welcome. I know that first part looks kinda goofy, but it was REALLY fun!
There is some frantic movements at the very end I look back on and cringe at, because I don’t think my movements match with the music’s crescendo.
I’d love to keep having fun with dance, but how do I navigate around professionals without stepping on any toes? Is there a type of performer or space for people who prefer improvisational dance?
For some additional context, I’m over 30 in this video, but I try to keep learning and staying within my physical limits.
I love watching people’s dances on this sub and really wanted to add my own style to the conversation. What style even is this?!
I am a former dancer. I am 48 years old but I began dance at 4 years old. By the age 20, I performed with singers, get ibiza stage as entertainment crowd dancer and won multiple competitions. I focused to get as much style I can, I am extremely polyvalent style. Then at 23 y.o, I got cancer. I am a miracle I survive when they gave me 2 weeks to lived. Obviously for treatment I had to stop dance .
Then for not help, I met the wrong guy and got married to him for 12 years I escaped two year ago what the police qualify as captivity in abuse violent domestic home. Got many bone broken and physical permanent damage. I wasn't allow to listen music or TV, so dance was a hell no. I escaped 2 years ago, and asked divorce. In retaliation he kidnapped my 3 children abroad, stole my car and empty my bank account.
Obviously, for not become insane. I had to come back my dream for survive, as a therapy DANCE... I began slowly in living room, make back my box of old costume and shoes from my parents house. But even if it's pleasant, the reality snap me. I am old, overweight, lost flexibility and I struggle with injuries. But even, I can't let go world of DANCE. I made course for studio owner. But again, no money, no candy. So I decided to make a course for be choregrapher, like that I don't need dance but I can let my world of passion express through other dancers. But I was absent too long, studio or dancers doesn't know me anymore.
I make the course with I-PATH and each month I have to give as homework a choregraphy of 2 minutes but I can't find any dancer. I truly struggling. I don't have lot money either. But I can't give up. I had to perform myself for my 2 first homework, but I clearly need at least one dancer. Even if it's children. The teacher says it's normal to struggling find dancer even with budget. But finals test come soon and now I really need help.
Please now I beg, is there any passionate dancer who still value passion over money, and can help me. I am willing work online. As I work in many style, I can adapt to the style. Also I don't see choregraphy as simply imposed to dancer. I keep in mind dialog and suggestions from dancer, like a collaboration.
Please anyone get idea. That my therapy.
basically i record myself dancing with my phone so i can see what to improve. I listen to music from spotify and the music keeps playing when i record, but its not in the video.
Is there any easy way to have the music in the video without me having to manually edit it in?

So I'm teaching a Kpop class after school, Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-5PM for middle schoolers. At the end of the month there will be a showcase and the students will perform. I already have an idea that students will use the last hour, 4-5PM, to practice their dance, but I have no idea what to teach the students or have them do the first hour. What activities can I do with the students during 3:15-4PM until practice time?
So a bit about myself, I have been dancing for 20+ years! Been performing and competing in teams mostly. I was initially in one studio and competed in their team with them for 10 years. We always won and we were a very hardworking team.
I took a break from that particular studio. 10 years later, I found a different studio and different dance style altogether and wanted to venture on competition and see how well I can commit as an adult dancer. Since joining the new studio, I’ve been able to perform at different festivals and shows! I found some amazing dance friends, I have definitely improved so much as a dancer. However the only lacking thing I observed is the fact the teams aren’t as winning as my previous studio. Now I’ve got 100% commitment towards my dance team. It’s been my third year with them and now I am having doubts. It seems like everyone’s skill levels are different and plus I do pay to be in this team. I would like to take a step back, but I’m having so much fear and FOMO! I just don’t know how to go about it. Like yes I get to perform as well! Which l love! But I don’t feel like there would be a use
Hii So I've never danced in my life and I don't know where to start. I really like Spanish/Latin/Reggaeton etc music and it gives me a lot of energy but when I try to dance to it I feel like a piece of wood I would like to find some tutorials on YouTube/Reddit or even Patreon (I am willing to pay but at a reasonable price) To understand the movements, how to start, how to be more fluid. I would like to learn just to feel more confident in myself and have fun. I have already searched for schools in my area but the only thing I found is ballet and that is not what I am looking for.
I’m interested in a pair of Nike Air Force 1 Dance shoes or the Nike JAM shoes for dancing. Dance style is hip hop, Zumba, and Mixxed Fit. Has anyone had experience dancing in either of these? Pros and cons?

Sorry, not exactly a dancer but figured you guys might know, for our percussion uniform we have to wear skin tones long sleeved shirt and I have no idea where to even start looking, all of my online searches bring me nowhere and I figured if anyone would know it was dancers. Also any tips on to know if they are going to match my skin at all irl would be great (I'm white as hell but have still somehow never worn something that matched).
Hi dancers! I'm wondering if anybody else has struggled to find wide enough jazz shoes, and has recommendations? My latest fail has been the Capezio Jazz Glove, as that style was recommended by Capezio for a wide foot, and despite buying it in the widest size, it's still too narrow for me. I thought of trying Bloch as their widest fit ballet shoes are good for me, but for some reason their jazz shoes come in only two widths. Help a girl out, what other brands might work?
For context, I don’t have much dance experience. I danced fundamentals of jazz, ballet and hip hop with my middle school, then did colorguard all of highschool. I never danced competitively or with a studio. My parents never let me. Yet, I loved dancing. Growing up I would put on pop music videos, and dance to them for hours. Now, in college, I am lucky enough to be a part of the dance program without being a dance major (yet). Yet I feel so lost about where I am. I find the beginner level classes offered at college (except for intro ballet) easy, and I have trouble connecting with the people in the class since many are non dancers. Yet doing anything higher caliber makes me feel like a fraud. I am literally faking it till I make it. I have good musicality and learn choreography quickly. My body looks good when I dance. Yet I can’t do any cool tricks like a calypso, firebirds, or aerials. I can’t even do fouettés or a la secondes or anything more than a double pirouette actually. I only have my left split and can’t lift my leg past 90 degrees. The people around me are all trained dancers since childhood and it shows and I feel disconnected. I feel judged every time we have to do anything with technique and I clearly show inexperience. I got casted in an advanced contemporary piece for a show somehow and I don’t feel like I belong there at all. It doesn’t help that a girl also said she was surprised to see that I made it since I didn’t have formal contemporary training. I guess I’m just venting here but, yeah, I really reallly wish I could’ve been trained since I was young. I feel like I have to work twice as hard to “catch up.”
