I started incorporating regular weight training and workouts into my sessions, and I was just curious if grip strength was something I should work on - does grip strength help at all in bboying?
So i was doing airchairs, crashed and got a wrist sprain. now im afraid of even doing stab freezes because of that wrist sprain. How do i start breaking again?
Does anybody else have a lump or a bruise on their elbow after training elbow freeze a lot
I've seen some people on here asking about workshops/classes to learn breakin' in the Southern CA area (Los Angeles, Long Beach, Orange County). Wanted to share an upcoming summer program I know of where you can learn with other beginners.
It is for high schoolers and adults, classes held in Long Beach. A 12-week program and is free for qualified students (otherwise it costs up to $399; each meetup is 2 hours). These classes are taught by a variety of WeBreak instructors who have years of bboying and teaching experience, and the second hour of each class is dedicated to a private open session to practice what you learn.
It's a great opportunity to meet bboys and bgirls in the scene, learn to break, and explore something new. I think there are currently 5-7 students enrolled and the class caps at 12 people.
You can see more information and the application link here (registration ends early May): https://webreakdance.com/development-program/
Looking to get back into breaking but not sure how relevant it still is in my city. Considering I live in Houston makes me think their are many people to meet but am still a beginner so don’t know of any crews/people in my area. Any recommendations to places in where I can meet other people/learn from who are still in the Bboy scene?
Thinking of going back to breaking but I’m worried it might worsen my migraines if I do windmills or body slam if crash.
I'm 1.95 cm and 27 years old so it's not very likely i'll ever learn them. But I'm going to keep trying a few more years. I've only thought of flares because my goal since childhood was to do flares to handstand.
Circles don't even look that good, but it just struck me, are they perhaps easier and a progression to do open legged flares?
I can’t do multiple windmill. I have been practicing this move for a week, any tips or mistake you would like to point out would be great. 🙏🙏
Lowkey im kind interested of buying the class because he has taught a lot of great Bboys!!
How are little kids capable of doing many air flares head spins, etc. Isn't it dangerous for them because they can get hurt?
What are some tips that helps them become amazing power heads?
I've recently switched to a larger space to session but now my throwdowns look far weaker when smaller, are there any common tips used to make moves look bigger?
I’m working on some mini-documentaries showcasing urban sports, and I want to shine a light on some interesting cultural nuances that make Breaking unique. For example, in Skateboarding, the fish-eye lens is often used to create cool looking videos. I’ve only got into Breaking as a result of this series so it’s one of the lesser understood sports from my end, and I want to give it its due diligence!
So, a few questions I have:
Any thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated – I just want to paint Breaking in the best light possible!
Looking for a new shoe. Are dyzee threads shoes any good? Are any of you guys interested in buying the nike jams? Personally I cant afford them but im excited to see them in action
Some good ol breakin
Hello,
Shazam is no good when it comes to finding breakbeats, it's always a miracle when I manage to find a beat.
I'm currently looking for this
this too
and I'm also looking for more chill beats, not necessarily in rythme but in vibe too
where do you guys find your beats ? And do you know any artists I can look up for this ?
Are you a bboy? Then watch a high-level bgirl battle some time, you might learn something!
Like what?
For specific examples: Watch the India vs. Stefani battle, or any bgirl AT judge showcase. I think she can definitely show and prove her qualifications.
So to the mumble breakers and generic eboys talking trash - that mid shit you working on won't cut it. Bgirls today will smoke you!
Do you agree/disagree? There's a lot that I probably missed. Let me know, what else can bboys learn from bgirls?
Not a bboy-hater, just a lady lover.
Peace,
