Any recommendations for Dorm(s) or room set ups that work best for athletes?
hello, does anybody know if the application is due today at midnight or tmrw dec 1st at midnight
I’ve been at KU for a few years and have been trying to venture out of my shell and get into hook up culture because this girl is super horny😭. But I feel like I’m failing because I don’t like to go out and party, and that seems to be where “everyone” finds people to be fwb or hook up with. I also feel like hook up culture in college is lowkey toxic and dangerous. I’ve tried dating apps and being more outgoing/forward in my classes and organizations I’m apart of, and nothing has worked. Does anyone have any suggestions? At this point I would do anything (okay maybe not ANYTHING 🤡) to have sex with someone
Gpa (4.0 unweighted)

My father’s a 100 VA disability retired veteran and we both haved lived in-state for a while. What can I do to maximize merit scholarships/tuition/money etc for my application as I’ve looked online and discussed with counsellors and I’m still kinda directionless, I’ve been filling out the application and I’m basically done but still considering doing the “honor program” application.
Hoping to use Black Friday sales this week - what laptop do you recommend for a non-STEM major? Likely psychology major, possible management minor. Do you also suggest a tablet for note taking?
Hi, I'm a freshman looking into housing for myself and 3 friends for next year, and I feel like the Landing is currently a frontrunner for me. Rent doesn't seem too bad, I like the location well enough, the amenities seem nice (especially with clu house renovations and such), and the appliances in the apartment I saw at open house seemed decent (although that was the model so how much can that really mean.) However, I am seeing a lot of very mixed reviews online, so I was hoping to get some input from people who live(d) at the Landing to see if it's worth it and it's not just extremely disgruntled tenants leaving bad reviews online. I would appreciate any input you can give on it, and some other recommendations if the Landing isn't the move would be great too!
Long story short I'm transferring to another school at the semester but have an obligation to still be enrolled at KU, what are the easiest online 1 credit hour courses to take?
Hey all,
I'm a senior in high school located out of state and have been a Kansas fan for quite some time now. The other day I was rejected from the Honors Program and I wondered if you guys here know much about it. I just went on a college visit a few weeks ago and they made it seem not crazy selective. I've already been admitted into other college programs that are more selective and admitted into their honors programs and have gotten bigger scholarships so these other schools are very tempting at the moment. However, KU has this sense of community and it feels much more student-centered than those other universities. Also, KU has a double major program that the other schools don't have.
Some other details that might matter are my school has gpa set on a 5.0 scale where I have a 4.9. I take only AP and honors courses. I have gotten all 4s or above for my AP scores. I am an honors All-State musician (Top two in the state for my instrument as of last year. Results aren't out this year). I play in a local professional selective auditioned band and I balance two other jobs on top of that. Lead senior drum major, all the band and orchestra stuff, etc. Also, I am in my school's National Honor Society. One of my weakest things is my 1260 sat. I should've retaken it but I really dislike testing. That's a summary of some of the stuff I talked about in my application.
But anyway my main reason for posting is I want some student insight into how selective the program is and if it's worth it or not. Also, would it be a bad idea to reach out for feedback? I don't want to bother anyone but If I decide to go to KU I would want to reapply after my first semester and I would want to know how or what I could improve or if it's even worth trying.
Thank you for your time, RCJH!
So. long story short i’ve messed up my first semester at KU. The 2nd will be better but i’m just wondering if there is anyway I can boost my GPA like over the summer?
Hey guys incoming freshman so I wanted to apply to U of Kansas on the common app but for some reason I couldn’t find Nursing or Pharmacy major and was wondering if you guys knew what I have to do to or where it might be just so I could apply for nursing major or pharmacy major. And thanks in advance.
Looking for apartment recommendations near/ on a bus route to campus. Thanks!
We recently featured a creative writing PhD student from the University of Kansas on our podcast, MFA Writers. The show is meant to be a resource for prospective applicants, as well as highlight emerging writers. There's a lot of opaqueness around the creative writing MFA/PhD application process and we aim to provide greater information and transparency. The goal is to provide an opportunity to hear from real creative writing students about their experiences in their programs.
If you're interested, MFA Writers is free and available on all major podcasting platforms (and some minor ones, too). You're always welcome to reach out to us with feedback or program requests, as well. We want this to be an informative and useful resource for emerging writers.
Thanks all!

Does anybody have a quizlet or study guide for the MGMT 498 Exam 2 on Monday?
Hi! I am not a student but my s/o is a new student, we're attending a basketball game tonight but live outside of Lawrence. Where are the best places to park? Thank you for any help!
My gpa is 2.6 unweighted, haven't took any standardized test, and i'm taking between 2 AP classes, what are my chances of getting in? i'm applying as an international student.
Hi,
I'm a high school sophomore from Out of state. I'm highly interested in U Kansas for their M. ARCH program. What should I do to help boost my chance at getting admitted? Is it really hard to get admitted? I have ~1060 SAT, gpa is low though at a 90/100 unweighted average including freshman year.
Also, if anyone here is in that program can I PM, I have a couple questions surrounding your experience with how hard it is, how many people drop out/stay in, and are the profs here good?
I'm honestly very worried about this. 3.8+ GPA on a 4.0 scale and at least 1 high school drawing or art class with grade of B or higher. Is a 90 unweighted gpa (have had like a couple courses in 70s and a few in 80s, rest are mid-high 90s) a 3.8?
Thanks!
I'm a current freshman at KU looking for housing for next year. I have 3 or 4 roommates for next year. Any advice or recommendations?
Hey all, I’m thinking of transferring to KUs school of engineering for civil/environmental engineering and was wondering if anyone here has started at community college and how their process went in terms of workload, and general class comparison
Does anyone know of the textbook or any material used in this class? I plan on taking it next semester and wanted to look at it over Christmas break.
hi so i'm trying to find a 4 bedroom 4 bath apartment for next year. any recommendations? trying to stay on the cheaper side and an area with lots of other ku students.
Hello,
I’ve recently changed schools and majors (CompE School of Engineering——> Information Systems School of Business) and I was wondering if my GPA would reset or transfer. (Honestly I’m hoping it just resets to 0 since I’m only a freshman and it will be easier to keep my GPA higher for next year) Logically, i’m thinking that since i’m not in that school anymore my GPA for that is void, especially since barely any of those classes i’m taking count towards my degree plan. But logic doesn’t usually come into play within KU, at least that is what i’ve picked up from my few months here.
Is it hard or heavy?
I went to log into Canvas, and usually, there's something from KU IT here off to the side, but now there's a picture of a Lady holding a poster saying vote, and while I do appreciate the message, isn't this AI? or at the very least, incredibly photoshopped? The textures of her hair and jacket look super fake. If it is, I'm very surprised to see KU using an AI image when it would be incredibly easy to take an actual photo, and when they actively punish students for using AI to aid their work.
EDIT: I am well aware that students using AI are cheating, I do not condone it. HOWEVER, it is the principle of the thing, it could just as easily have been done with a real person holding a real sign, but they are still opting for AI.
Hello everybody,
I'm looking for someone to sublease my room in a house on Alabama St. near the stadium, starting in January-(may, june, july) or whenever you'd be able to. Preferably a guy, but it's got your own room, only sharing the newly renovated bathroom with one person. Super clean, great wifi, will leave behind some kitchen stuff. Rent: $575, we can discuss a discount on utilities. Please PM me if interested and I lmk if y'all have any questions.
