I have a trailer problem. I can’t get the trailer to slide forward for backwards. It keeps dragging, even though the pens are releasing perfectly fine. The trailer is in lock position and the tractor is in the position and it keeps dragging What can I do?
Established team, 3+ years experience each in dry van and reefer, doubles, one of us has dry bulk tanker experience, both have excellent safety records, both have doubles/triples and tanker, plan on getting hazmat around the start of the year... is there anything out there that is team-specific, but wouldn't show up immediately in a Google search?
We've seen the ads for Covenant, XPO, OD, we've both worked for a FedEx ground contractor as local linehaul drivers (though we prefer to steer well clear of FedEx unless the pay is exceptional)...
We've applied to Boyle and Baylor, but since it's a holiday week we don't expect to hear back right away. What else is out there??
Our current company keeps us and several other teams sitting, and that's not what we're out here to do.
Hi guys I’m tired of my currently seat, it’s killing my neck. I’m looking for another one.
Do you have any recommendations to buy? I would appreciate something ergonomic to get a better posture.
Thinking about leaving the company I'm at currently. The offer from GXO came a week before XPO. I don't want to close the door on GXO without hearing the offer from XPO out. Will XPO know if I say yes to GXO to stall an then if I like the better offer,Go with that. Feel bad aabout it but it's about money.
What GPS units are you guys using and how reliable are they?
Gas company local to me exclusively runs Peterbilt 389’s. Day cab. Their longest route is a 50 mile trip, never further than 30 miles from their office. They never go off highway like I do in my CH613(I am a logger). You get worse visibility, a worse turning circle, and worse fuel mileage for what?
Hey y’all so I recently applied to Maverick for their CDL training and OTR flatbed position. I will try to speak to a recruiter next week. Any advice as to how I need to approach this?
Hi guys so I’m looking for something I can do to live a straight life. I have a recent record but I’ve always wanted to be a trucker so was wondering if that’s an option for me at all. If not, any recommendations?
Last year
I'm talking about a Holcim cement plant. Fuck the lawyer that thought any driver needed this. I learned a few things about pneumatic tanker which I don't drive. Also the certification is for 2024 and it's almost 2025.
Usually it's lock your trck key in the box, pull the glad hand, chock the wheels.
I'll mention I'm just picking up a shipment of cement bags.
Title because it keeps getting triggered. Admins need to fix.
Ladies or just In general if there’s not that many in the sub; what are some essentials for a beginner?
So Wednesday late afternoon they got it done and since I still have a hotel room I decide go at morning.
5am in the morning.... I got to the truck.... The belt broke and shredded again. Still stuck in Wyoming I'd rather wait for them fix it then maybe a loaner truck, I have a cat and too much stuff to move around
I’m not too sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes. I’ve been with covenant transport for a few months now (lol, they train you for 3 weeks and then send you to the wolves) anywho, I get my experience with backing and driving all over the country. I say all that to say this, is there any local jobs that would take me? I’m willing to relocate to Utah/colorado/arizona or Dallas. I currently live in Miami and the trucking jobs down here are complete dogshit. Any practical advice would help me greatly, or just any advice in general.
Now I have 30+
Hi good people,
I've got my permit now, and been doing a ton of research into what kind of first job I want to do and what school to sign up with.
Got it narrowed down to city ltl driving (because you get lots of practice backing) and either a dock to driver program, or company paid training (as long as the cost of potentially breaking the contract isn't too high).
I'm in Brooklyn New York. Will travel if necessary.
What do you think?
Thanks in advance!
The Clearinghouse has been around since January 2020. They just now started notifying the States to downgrade people's CDLs. What have they been doing for almost 5 years? Have companies just been on the "honor system" that they won't hire someone if they're in the "House"?
I guess what I'm asking is, what's the added benefit of downgrading someone's license? They weren't supposed to be driving anyway, right?
I'm european. I drive a two axle tractor with a three axle trailer everyday.
Why do we have this setup in Europe? Can anyone explain to me the benefits?
It's terrible in the snow, which is why Scandinavians all prefer tri axle tractors... It makes partial loads a pain in the ass to keep legal when you've got several drop off points... It absolutely ravages the first axle tires on the trailer...
So why on earth do we do it like this on continental Europe?
I was recently accepted into roehls gycdl program I have been self-employed for the past few years. I provided them with 1099s but I’m not sure how far they dig into work history before you get your CDL’s do they use background check to verify or do they just call your past employer… I don’t want to get there and get kicked out because of work history verification. I have a clean, driving record and clean background. I quit my job for this so it is a pretty big deal.

Please cite actual law if possible. Unsubstantiated opinion can be amusing but it is counterproductive.
