I don’t understand how the redtiger could be cheaper… should I stick with the Viofo?
Been debating it, and this looks like the best bang for your buck for a front only dash cam. (I don’t want a rear facing cam) let me know your thoughts!
Early Christmas gift and I absolutely love it. Wanted a rearview mirror dash cam to avoid having anything additional stuck to my windshield and a factory install look. Hubs hardwired it and it’s been great. If you’re not sure about running wires etc you can attach to existing mirror as well.
This video was on the way to work last week when the person in front decided they didn’t want to wait in the left hand lane traffic to turn and did a crazy u turn right at the light. What’s even crazier is that after honking they honked back…
Hey everybody! I’m looking for a dash cam under $120 and think I’ve decided on the viofo A119 mini 2. I specifically don’t want a rear facing camera. It’s on sale for $110 bucks right now and it looks like a good deal! Couple questions for the experienced users out there. Will it automatically override recordings so it doesn’t run out of storage super fast? I don’t want to get a new SD card every month. I’m looking at a 128G SD card. Should I get a 64G for cheaper or is 128G worth it? It’s a SanDisk card I’m looking at. Second and last question, is this worth it?! Thankyou so much for your time!
I've recently dealt with an incident where I could have used a dash cam. Now after searching the market, it seems like there is a various ways to install it, to include bringing it into the shop. Is it worth the money to have someone else install them? I haven't purchased anything yet, just wanting some tips before making a decision. Thank you!
The latest similar question to this I could find was 5+years.
I’m looking for a simple front+rear dashcam. Budget could stretch to 300 for the right cam. I do not want one with inbuilt GPS. Just looking for a simple, reliable front + rear cam that won’t shit the bed when I need it.
I’ve had a blueskysea b1w for years and it’s shit the bed. Takes an hour to transfer a 5 min video, sound is awful, front only etc. BUT it’s simple. No GPS, decent quality, no screen etc.
I don’t mind with/ without a screen as long as I can turn the screen off. Any and all recommendations welcome and thank you in advance!
I picked up a 10 pin adapter (very similar to the recommended Dongar brand), to install a dashcam to my 2016 Mazda3 Homelink mirror, only to find that it seems I have 7 pins (see photos). Searching Dongar and Amazon doesn't pull up anything that seems to match, any other sites where I may find this specific pin configuration? I'm trying to avoid hard wiring it if possible. I also found a few other port options - unsure if any of these would work. Thanks!
Long story short new car got hit and run in mall parking lot so I am joining the dash cam crowd since hit and runs are way to common in my area now.
Just want something that is
I watched some vids read the sticky post on this forum. It seems like the price range I am looking in the Q200 is it. Just figured I would ask before making the purchase
Edit: also looking at the Viofo A229 plus. As good as the Thinkware Q200 seems. As I watch videos of nighttime footage it doesn’t do well with picking up plate numbers with glare.
Sorry for the window condensation, it was pretty early morning.
Looking for a budget friendly 2ch, gps enabled, parking mode capable dashcam. I've mostly settled on the Q200, but I live in Florida and it gets HOT here in the summer. The car will regularly spend 12+h periods sitting in direct sunlight.
Does anyone have experience with this camera in a similar scenario? Similarly, due to occasional long periods while parked, I am considering the battery pack too. I know batteries bring their own unique temp concerns, so any feedback on high temp experience with those is appreciated as well.
Watch the semis in front on top of everything else happening behind them.
Driving past the airport and this guy cut in front of me. He must have been doing at least 120mph!
My mom's car has recently been messed around with by some people at her work. I want to get her a camera that records even when the car is off that has wide range. My mom currently has a dash cam that records the road in front and behind the car when it's on. Does anyone have Any suggestions for a camera that records the road + the side/wide range inside that also records when the car is off? (Idk if that makes any sense, I literally don't know anything about dash cams)
A coworker and her had a disagreement and a few days later, nails were randomly found pierced into both the back tires. Another coworkers said that they saw the culprit standing around the back of the car. The security cameras only show the front of the vehicle, so we don't really have proof that he did it.
TIA!
Anybody have a good setup or recommendation for a front and rear-facing dashcam on a soft top Bronco? I really like the look of the Fitcamx integrated dashcam, but the website says mounting the rear cam is difficult with the soft top. I also worry that the 1080p might not be a high enough res, especially since it has to go through the plastic window which scratches very easily. Would I be better off going with a front cam only?
I need to space my rear camera way from the sliding window in my truck, I believe attaching the camera to a 2”x2” plate mounted to the frame of the window will give me the clearance needed. Would 18ga stainless be rigid enough to prevent vibrations or should I look for another option?
Hi, I just had a Thinkware U3000 installed on Friday and when I'm using the Thinkware connected app I am unable to use the live view when the car is parked. I just get the message of " use of service is restricted in ultra power saving mode".
So far the settings are left as default. The only changes i've made for settings were connecting it to the cars wifi, the volume (i don't want it to make a noise when giving the car to the parking garage) and the cutoff voltage from 12.1 to 11.8 ( in a attempt to fix the ultra power saving mode)
Edit: is there a way to fix this?
edit: I'm referring to fixing the ultra power saving mode why is my dashcam going to that mode all the time when turning off the car? should it be in ultra power saving mode
Hey, I need to invest in a quality Dash Cam primarily for my late-night drives. I do a lot of night driving, both in the city and on country roads, and I've had a few close calls with wildlife as well as some less-than-stellar human drivers.
What I'm looking for is a Dash Cam that performs exceptionally well in low light conditions. I've noticed that a lot of cameras struggle with this, producing grainy or dark footage that wouldn't be very helpful in an accident or insurance claim situation. Additionally, I'd prefer something that's easy to install and use, and can record in high definition.
I'm also considering features like GPS, Wi-Fi connectivity and parking mode but I'm not sure if these are necessary or worth the extra cost.
If anyone has any recommendations or experiences to share, I would really appreciate it.Thanks in advance!
A highlight of my day. White car made a u-turn in a no u-turn lane, without noticing the cop right beside them the whole time (no u-turn signs were at the center island, and hanging right beside the stoplight)
I currently have a Viofo A129 dual in our Honda CRV, hardwired. It's failing and I need to replace it.
No one in the car, no one hurt so I left. Was in the middle of working.
