What we thinking
I’m under the impression that most if not all drivers have to get their own sponsorship and funding for their seat, how can they live off this? Do they have other forms of income or are they not all “paying” for their seat in that way?
According to this forum. https://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=158047&page=143
Some bits are a bit scrappy and I couldn’t manage to make the wheels correctly so that’s why they’re just one solid colour. But I like it
As a new fan I quite like the look of the cupra, but also would like to know what manufacturer and car you would like to see join the BTCC?
In your own opinion if you had the opportunity to change one thing about BTCC what would it be?
General consensus seems to be Nic Hamilton and Scott Sumpton.
Unclear if this team are going to replace Restart or be in addition to them - but does look like they plan to run Cupras.
I hate waiting for these announcements 🤣
There was supposed to be one in 2004, supporting the British GP, but it was cancelled.
There was the BTCC Masters races at Donington with the SEATs of course.
Hi all. Does anyone know if there’s going to be another series of On The Limit covering the 2024 season? The previous series have been fantastic, but the YouTube view counts have been tiny.
Just an idea that popped into my head.
Appreciate this might have been discussed to death already, but has anyone ever worked out what went wrong between Plato and BMR during the Subaru years? 2016 was pretty much a half season given the early struggles with the Subaru, but he still finished top 10 in points, with a win and ten podiums. It was obvious he was still very competitive.
He had the huge startline shunt at Brands Indy in 2017 which apparently fundamentally damaged the Subaru chassis, but surely given his status and price tag the team would have properly repaired the car or built a new one from scratch? You could argue that Jason was starting to lose a few tenths in pace given that he was about to enter his 50s, but definitely not the sort of collapse in competitiveness that we saw in 2017/2018.
2018 is so hushed up, you'd think that a two-time champion and the winningest driver in BTCC history suddenly being hopelessly uncompetitive all year would merit some comment and investigation from someone, anyone in the series? From memory, ITV barely bothered to mention him or interview him in 2018. Given that he was still a major draw, the lack of coverage is even stranger.
Interestingly enough, Plato's treatment at BMR actually turned me from being a hater into a fan during his last couple of seasons with Power Maxed and BTC, really hoped he would get to 100 BTCC wins.
In a nutshell:
Tommy Sopwith won his class 8 times.
Jack Sears only scored 7 class wins.
By today's standards, Sopwith would have won the championship on countback as he and Sears ended up tied on 48 points apiece*.
I'm fairly new to BTCC and I'm a bit confused as to why West Surrey Racing have 3 cars ?. Surely it makes for a really odd dynamic between the drivers ?.
