The Japanese North Kanto Serial Killer Murders (CCTV Footage)

I have recently looked into North Kanto Serial Young Girl Kidnapping and Murder Case, which saw five assaults against young girls aged 4-8 between 1979-1996. Below is a timeline of events and I have also done extensive research on it which I’ve compiled into a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQeDhKMENAg) for those who’d rather watch than read.

1979 Murder of Manya Fukushima - On 3 August 1979, five-year-old Maya Fukushima went missing while playing at a shrine near her house in the city of Ashikaga. Six days later, her body was found naked in a backpack next to the Watarase river. Despite multiple sightings of the girl with a man and a boy her age, nothing leading to the perpetrator could be found.

1984 Murder of Yumi Hasebe - On 17 November 1984, also five-year-old Yumi Hasebe went missing from a pachinko parlour. Her body was found on 8 March 1986 in a field 1.7 kilometers away from her home.

1987 Murder of Tomoko Oosawa - On 15 September 1987, eight-year-old Tomoko Oosawa left her house in Ota city to go play at a park. She was later seen walking along a road with an older man pushing a bike, but no other leads ever surfaced. Her body was found on 27 November 1988 abandoned by the Tone River.

1990 Murder of Mami Matsuda – 4-year old Mami Matsuda vanished from a pachinko parlour she visited with her parents on May 12 1990. The next day, her body was found near the Watarase river. This time, police wrongfully convict kindergarten teacher Toshikazu Sugaya who is then tortured, beaten up and finally released after 17-years in prison.

1996 Abduction of Yukari Yokoyama - On 7 July 1996, four-year-old Yukari Yokoyama also went missing from a pachinko parlour. This time, CCTV footage caught the perpetrator entering the parlour and speaking to her, before they both left the building. Yukari has been missing for 25 years.

The Ashikaga murder case prompted a reinvestigation into all of the murders after journalist Kiyoshi Shimizu(who helped free Sugaya) critiqued the police’s dated DNA testing method. To this day, despite Shimizu claiming to have found the murdered (and having a 100% DNA match to prove it), the serial killer walks free.

Patrick Kennedy seems dodgy

Robert Murat was deemed a suspect for “trying to help” so I think Patrick and Brian who were doing the same thing, should’ve been suspects too. It makes no sense for them to have gotten themselves involved so deeply, to the point where Patrick travelled all the way to Morocco to identify a child that looked similar to Madeleine.

When I first saw Patrick, something about him just gave me the chills. The way he was talking reminded me a lot of Ian Huntley. It seemed as though he was trying to suppress a grin of some sort. Something tells me he might be involved in Madeleine’s disappearance. I’ve seen a year old post about him, that also voices out similar opinions, but what do you guys think?

Maybe the tapas seven went along with the story because Maddie died while unattended? All their kids would have been left in similar neglectful situations? If the deleted texts and calls pre disappearance are significant, maybe that’s why. Maybe Maddie died a day or so before

Just watched the documentary..

A lot of people think the parents did it, but one comment that sticks in my mind is the screaming of the mother that someone heard, I can only imagine the sounds I would make if I lost my children, or if they went missing, and I don’t think someone that would kill their child, would react that way.

Second, how has no one else commented on the quick note that the kids were exhausted that evening? Madeleine couldn’t even stay awake or walk.. doesn’t it sound like they, or she were drugged?

Did the Smith sighting occur at 22:00?

Hi. I've had an interest in this case lately, and it's been on my mind a lot. Before I say anything, I apologise if this has been brought up before (as I'm sure it has) and as far as the case goes, I'd say I'm on the fence as to what happened, so I dont bring this up to support any particular theory. I don't know a huge deal about the case, so any information would be great honestly. The thing I want to discuss is the Smith sighting.

First of all, I believe the Smith sighting is genuine and that the Smiths are reliable witnesses in this case, but Martin Smith claims he saw a man that looked like Gerry McCann carrying a child that looked like Madeleine at around 22:00; the same time that the alarm was raised at the tapas bar where Gerry McCann has a solid alibi.

The thing that bothers me about this is that the Smith sighting wasn't reported until the McCanns landed back in the UK on the 9th September; over 4 months after the disappearance. I find it hard to believe that the Smiths could've given an accurate timing of the sighting such a long time after it happened. At the time of the sighting, it would've been a completely innocuous event to the Smiths so they'd have to reason to remember when exactly it occurred.

I'm sure they could give a rough time like late evening for example. Or more specifically between 21:00 and 23:00. This would open up the possibility that the man seen really was Gerry McCann.

From what I've seen this is never really brought up. People just accept the Smith sighting took place at exactly 22:00. Some people doubt the times given by the Tapas 7, but didn't all 9 people say the alarm was raised at 22:00 in police statements taken right after the disappearance? I'd say that's pretty reliable (note I think the Tapas 7 are not involved). Certainly it's more reliable than times given over 4 months after a seemingly innocuous event.

Anyway that's all really. Please dont bite my head off. Just wanted to discuss this as it's been on my mind a lot.

Cheers.
