Just got out the shower so I want to share the complete chaos I just delt with. I have an usher who usually does the ticket post, you’d think they know how to do that correctly. I left the new hire to stay with that usher and a group (1 guy, a woman and 4 teen girls) entered. It didn’t appear that the couple was with the girls, but they were. The couple did nothing wrong at this point. The usher was suppose to verify by the e ticket how many people should be walking in. It’s 1 QR code that gives you all the info when scanned. Claiming the 4 teen girls didn’t have tickets n didn’t really seem to be with the couple at first I had to verify everything was ok. When I first arrived all I heard was there was a guy that came in and 4 girls came in trying to say they were with him. I didn’t know about the women. I approached the guy and asked him what was going wrong and if I can see the ticket to verify. He was a little hostile but when the woman came it got crazy. Immediately she went after both ushers. Mind you 1 is new so she’s not at fault cuz she’s just starting to learn. But the usher who has been there for a while had no problem screaming and cursing back at the enraged lady. It seemed the couple was going to attack her. Managers and staff separating the group from the usher were trying our best but the usher kept opening her mouth making the situation worse. We are most likely replacing our security guard and adding 1 more because he could not be found at the time. We let the group stay and watch the movie since they couldn’t control the usher. As soon as the movie was out the usher refused to be out of sight and the group waited around the lobby. The were looking for her. The found her but couldn’t do anything. Ultimately the left after using the restroom.
Group 2 - waiting for theaters to break I noticed 2 females ( one transitioning),exited the theater early and walked all the way across the lobby to the opposite side of the theater where the family restroom is. The first female walked up to the door and waited to check if no one was watching b4 going in. I waited for the second 1 to walk in so I confront them both. Mind you their theater was right next to the restroom. No reason to pass the lobby just for the family restroom when you also have the lobby restroom. And I just kicked kids out last week for bathroom sex. But as soon as both were inside I knocked firmly twice to let them know I was on to them. I get security because they won’t open the door. As soon as we get the door open we find out there was an older male in there with them. As soon as the door opened though, the usher that just had the other incident starts getting at the girl saying she was trying to sneak in early n starts saying a lot of stuff. So the girl lunges right at her n starts cursing her. Thanks to that scene, we didn’t get the guy that tried meeting them in the restroom. As we were trying to escort these teens out the usher again taunting the teens to the point where we had to put her behind box office. Since she was behind box office she felt it was still safe to taunt. Those dumb teens jumped on the box office counter and tried so hard to attack her. It was so bad dealing with these 2 groups that I had to tell the usher to SHUT UP cuz she was making it worse while the staff had to deal with a group. Somehow they didn’t just fire her for the second incident🙄
Hey guys I know this isn’t the usual kind of post y’all get but I figured some of you might be interested.
Me and some of my past coworkers all met at a movie theater and we’ve been making comics about things we’d joke about on the job.
The core one being a Robot Usher in a vein similar to robocop that fights different theater based villains like Trashmaster and 3D Wizard.
We’re currently about to release our 4th comic in the series and have a kickstarter up for it.
If you’re interested you just at least check out the kickstarter page to read the much better written synopsis and see some of the art.
I've reopened this sub to posting again. This sub is still heavily partnered with r/MovieTheaterEmployees but this is still a good place to tell your stories.
Had a bunch of banana peels on the floor to clean up last night, has anyone else had anything like that?
Theatre workers, can someone tell me EXACTLY what yall do to make your delicious popcorn???

All of the songs we hear over and over. Would love to know what I should add to it!
A bunch of us work at a Movie Theater here in Northwestern, Pennsylvania, and have filmed a bunch at our job after hours. We filmed a bunch of episodes for a theater comedy and even recreated The Shining but at our Theater. Making a Scream fan film was something I wanted to do for a while.
Everyone involved works at the Theater which was a blast and we literally had no budget shooting whatsoever. It did take us six months to film it due to a lot of construction and updating that is happening at our Theater. It was definitely hard at times because it felt like we wouldn't be able to finish it but we kept on and it is finally done.
We decided to handle Ghostface a little differently this time around instead of making you question who the person behind the mask is the entire time. We all love the Scream series and had a blast putting this together. It was fun being able to unleash Ghostface in our Theater.
I hope you all enjoy and thank you so much for taking the time to watch it.

Everyone involved in this film, behind and on screen, are Employees at our Independent Movie Theater in Northwestern Pennsylvania. We've filmed a bunch at our job and usually do after hours and the idea of making a Scream fan film was something I've wanted to do for quite some time since the Sceam series is my favorite of any Slasher series.
We've been filming for about six months and this is due to trying to film after hours here and there and trying to work around all the construction our theater has been going through. We are really close to wrapping production but I wanted to release a little trailer in the meantime.
We hope you enjoy the trailer. The short film will release in the next couple months. It's completely a Non-Profit project and will release for free on YouTube.
Until then I hope you enjoy and thank you so much
Good for them.
I work at a small theater and we use RTS. A separate drive-in theater that I work for just uses an old 1980’s style cash register.
This has happened to me several times, so it can't be just me. I'm getting tired of it.
I've just about decided that, next time it happens, I'll refuse to serve. I don't feel comfortable trying to serve someone who accuses me of robbing them.
Hi I’m the only cleaning crew and I having trouble cleaning 10 theaters by the time the theater opens. I have a Leaf blower and I need tips on how to clean faster and not have trash left over.
For example, there is no employees needed to handle film anymore.
My theater is small and I know other theaters have it worse but we are understaffed and I am working two jobs at about 80 hrs a week. Fuck corporate
I saw this movie on HBO Max decided to watch it for the first time in a while. Needless to say, I sobbed like a baby. Anyone have any stories like having to bring in tissues when you went in for a clean?
It's a fucking coinflip with these seniors. They're either sweeter than sugar or likely to smother you in your sleep.
Anyone brave enough to update on the 2021 gm conference this year?
Working at a theater is a blast especially being able to film after hours with the employees. Everyone involved are employees at our theater and we just have so much fun making episodes.
After it has come to Derric's attention that Devin is doing bizarre things on the clock like taking pictures of people sleeping for a collage, he has to try to keep Devin in check as he is on the verge of losing his job. Meanwhile, Taylor is dealing with an awkward smell in the theater.
Our show has very strong, crude language, just a warning.
I hope you enjoy!
I have posted here many times but I am a manager at a movie theater in Northwest PA and after hours, we film our own show called I Mean To Offend.
Before we were just doing ridiculous episodes for the hell of it but we are getting ready to film a new season with better production at no budget.
Here is the Teaser for our return and a link to all of our episodes. I hope you enjoy.
Warning: There is really strong language and sexual situations in certain episodes. Some episodes are actually based off of real stories, the first episode was actually based off of a story I heard on this subreddit.
I hope you enjoy

hey guys iam new theatre worker from israel and i have question about film files
when i inject my supervisor told me to always inject all files but even after reading about the info in the files name i cant understand properly
for exemple, i have the new 3 files of the new space jam
when i inject the OCAP file it doesnt work because it is only the dubbed audio and subtitles? thats why i need to inject the film itself?
if i dont have keys for the EN-XX version do i even need to do something with it or i can avoid it?
how does the projector/system know automaticly to use both files to play the movie Dubbed+subtitled?
if i want to play the movie only subtitled i play EN-he_il right?
I’m curious, how’s it been for all of you so far?
Now get ready for Black Widow
the computer hardware does not get destroyed
How y’all holding up? I see my brothers & sisters at Crown are struggling to get their buildings up & running. My heart goes out to you. My fellow Three Letters peeps, I guess we’re in full swing. I can’t speak to your specific markets & theatres but mine are back at near pre-pandemic levels. Once we drop capacity restrictions and get a full staff, we will have gotten over the hump. The business ain’t dead. That’s for sure.
How y’all do tonight?
Our attendance was 1,200 today.
How y’all do?
