Take A Plant Leave A Plant is an online trading community for your cuttings, seedlings, seeds, or whatever plants you have laying around! We want to spread the love of plants to those who don't have access. Please, don't flip your plants here. Happy trading!
Take a plant, leave a plant. A community for trading plants, seeds, and cuttings.
Flair your post. For trade posts, flair your post with your country or state. For trade reviews, flair with "Trade Review." For discussions or questions, flair with "Discussion."
List what you have available to trade. Don't be vague about what you have (ie. "I have a lot of plants.")
Posts are for trades only - no mention of selling or buying in posts. If you want to buy or sell plants, please comment in the monthly sales thread. (Posts where users only need to pay shipping are an exception to this rule.)
Be kind. The strength of this community depends on kindness, respect, and honesty.
Read the trade safety guidelines. Try to abide by these guidelines to increase the chances of a successful trade.
Try to use a payment method with buyer protection, if purchasing plants. Payment methods like PayPal Goods and Services offer buyer protection.
Read the tips on shipping plants. These can increase the chance of a successful trade.

When users review others on their trades, review are logged and stored and users are given a rating. Read about our user review system here. Reviews are for plants/seeds/cuttings only.

You can either make a post or make a comment to leave a user review. Do not do both for one review.
Make a post: Include the user's username and how many stars you wish to rate them in your post (photos are helpful to others, but optional).
Make a comment: Write a comment in the current "User Trade Reviews" thread. Similar to making a post, include their username and how many stars you wish to rate them.
You can give any value from 1 to 5. (1.5, 3.75, 4.99)
In order to leave a negative review, you must show some proof (like a screenshot) that you have attempted to communicate with your trader partner about your dissatisfaction. Communication is important in this community, so it is prudent to see an attempt has been made to reach out about a bad trade.

It is recommended you do not trade with people on this list.

Hello! I have a lot of plants, and some of them are getting really big. I can’t keep all of the props, but throwing them away feels wrong. I live in rural Eastern Washington, so there aren’t a lot of people here to trade or sell plants to. I’m nervous about shipping plants since I haven’t ever done it, plus it’s starting to get cold. I would hate to ship someone a dead plant. What would be your advice for shipping plants during cold weather? Also, how do you figure out shipping prices prior to actually shipping the plants? Basically, if anyone wouldn’t mind sharing how they ship plants step by step, that would be super helpful! Thank you in advance!
