I'm looking to get to a mutual aid network. I've found some organizations online, but many of them have not updated their socials/websites in several months or longer. Does anyone know how to find these networks, or do you have one that you recommend? I'm only looking in SC because I don't have a car.
I’ve only lived here for about a year and I can tell there’s not a whole lot of a basketball scene here for young adults that aren’t students. I was wondering if there were any men’s basketball leagues I could join. Thank you!
Any new big employers moved/opened shop in Happy Valley? The traffic and erratic drivers have significantly increased lately. Just curious if a lot of big city folks moved here.
Does anyone have any experience in living in College Court apartments? Any information I should know would be highly appreciated!
Hello, I’m hoping to get some input or conversation on some good places or options to live as a staff member working on Campus.
I was previously a student but graduated and now work with the University. I am currently living in the Park Forest area but my SO are not really happy with where we are at—constantly dealing with laundry struggles, roaches, no parking, I could go on.
I’m wondering what most staff members or just locals to campus find is the best living areas that are more professional friendly and not rowdy? We are currently paying around $1200 total in rent and would like to maintain around this price point.
I’ve began looking into houses as well, but that’s a whole other gargantuan conversation.
Thanks :)

I’ve removed the casino post. No Sandusky related posts are allowed. He was an evil fuck and is where he belongs - end of story.
You’re welcome to start another thread discussing the pros and cons of the casino if you like.
In town till Sunday, want to try a grilled sticky but I saw that the place that served them closed down. Does anywhere else make them?
My Husband has a conference tomorrow at Penn State, I’m coming with him just for a road trip and some alone time. We have hotel checkout at noon and I was wondering is there somewhere nearby that is cool to sit and chill for like 4-5 hours while he does his thing?
Hey everyone, I recently got my first speeding ticket, and I’m trying to decide if it’s worth contesting in court. Here are some ticket details:
Context:
I was keeping the same speed as the cars in front of and behind me that night. My dash cam footage shows that the police car only appeared in the distance after my speed had already dropped below 25 MPH and the SUV behind me had turned left at an intersection. It was then that the officer began following me and eventually pulled me over.
I drive a sedan that sits lower than the SUV behind me, and when that SUV was close, its headlights made all my rear-view mirrors super bright. Because of this, I felt it was safer to maintain some distance from the SUV. Unfortunately, it was a single-lane road, so I couldn’t move over to another lane to let them pass.
Reasons for Considering Court:
Do you think it’s worth going to court to ask the judge for a warning or a reduced fine? Or would it be easier to just pay it and move on? Would love to hear from anyone with similar experiences. Thanks in advance for any advice!
Hello, I vote with my dollar. Free market! Can we make a list of republican owned businesses in State College. Meyers is on there.
Hey everyone!
I’m new to State College—moved here recently to help my wife settle in as she starts her master’s program at Penn State.
A little about me: I’ve been a tech entrepreneur for over 12 years, and built multiple 7-figure businesses. My focus has been on online marketing and growth—things like market positioning, pricing strategies, funnel building, and customer acquisition (inbound and outbound).
I’m working on a new project now, but since I have a bit of extra time, I thought I’d see if there are any fellow entrepreneurs around here.
If you’re a local business owner, tech entrepreneur, or building an online presence—whether it’s an eCommerce, a SaaS product, an agency or a local service—I’d love to connect.
I’m looking to meet some like-minded folks, chat about ideas, and hopefully get involved in the local community of creators and builders.
If that sounds good, feel free to comment or send me a DM!
Looking forward to connecting with some of you.
Thank you!
Hi! Does anyone have recommendations for a handy person? I am looking for someone who can install dimmer switches, install curtain rods, and hang a tricky mirror in my new home in Pleasant Gap. It’s surprisingly hard to find someone who does this locally. Thanks for your help!
Wasn’t sure if it’s understaffed or what, but this stats guy I was watching showed it only 82% in at 1am.
They have one old lady working on the mail in backlog???
Was hoping someone knew someone who knew why they’re so slow.
I just got back from voting in our township, and all the usual folks were at the tables checking us in and giving us our ballots. But there was a person standing right behind the table taking notes on everything going on, and she was wearing a lanyard with an official-looking plastic badge that said "voter protection". Is this something real, or is this some attempt at intimidation by a self-appointed poll watcher?
Hello, does anyone know if the Discovery Space on Atherton is a voting location? I filled out the form to find my polling location and that’s the address listed, but I can’t find any information online that suggests they are open for that?
I placed my Atli T330 on a power line trail overlooking State College for four days. I cut out the overnight portions and sped it up some. Enjoy!
Hiah everyone, I'm a 21 year old college student currently graduating in December. I live at the Pointe, which has a monthly rent of 970. Unfortunately I cannot leave my lease without someone to take it over. Anyone interested? Anyone know any resources?
Thanks.
Is there a process to getting into the crowd at GameDay or can you just walk into the herd? Obviously the set is closed off, but can anyone just join the crowd?
