Holly - Smokey Robinson cover??

Relistened to Smokey by Smokey Robinson and remembered a great soul song which I am unable to find. It is a female soul musician's cover of Holly by Smokey Robinson, I am having zero luck finding it. The name is also Holly, but I cannot remember the name of the artist. Anyone know what I am talking about?? The album cover for it is a picture of her with some orangish tones.

Otis redding vs Wilson Pickett vs Sam Cooke. Who is your personal favourite?

I’m on the fence on this one. Three of the most powerful male soul singers ever. I think Wilson might edge it for me, but maybe because he did more material than Otis.

Is there such a thing as modern soul and where do I find it if it exists?

Hey everyone,

So in regards to soul music, I basically only listen to the classics, so basically anything before or during the period of the 70's and 80's. I have tried exploring to see if there is any soul music that exists past this period but all I can really find is maybe a couple of minor soul like albums from the early 2000's and 2010's from people like Glenn Lewis and Alicia Keys. I also found that with other genres such as rock and dance, they have evolved over time and continue to exist asa genre despite having evolved to the point where they are very different then they originally were. Yet the same thing doesn't seem to exist with soul. Thus I ask you my friends, is there any such thing as a modern soul genre, and where do I go about listening to it?

Love man by Otis redding is one of the greatest soul records I’ve ever heard!

Every song has feeling and meaning to it. There’s something about Otis voice that has so much sweetness to it.

Song recommendations

Looking for slow, soulful and rhythmic suggestions. Listening to Ray lamontagne's "I was born to love you" and drug dealer's "picture of you."

Earth, Wind & Fire- Evil (1973)

From one of my very favorite albums of all time.

Fun fact: Deee-Lite sampled this in their song “Say Ahhh…” from their album, ”Dewdrops in the Garden”.
