This subreddit is for Funk-based Soul predominantly made with traditional live instruments. Think James Brown, The Meters, Daptone. It is not about glitchy beats or the like. Slap bass WILL NOT be tolerated here. Especially bass with an envelope filter.
All things raw funk and soul.

What it could sound like: Tried to create a song inspired by Sault - Masterpiece, especially with the bass. Been on my mind forever.
Then i found som Jacob Lusk vocals with him performing "Bennie and the jets". Sampled the song "loyalty", check it out if interested :) Thank u!!
Probably from 70's, used in radio drama which was probably recorded at the former Radio Sarajevo, don't have longer sample unfortunately!

Hello community I just joined this group to see if anyone by any chance knows the name of the song that is playing on this YouTube video I stumbled on.
https://youtu.be/sWgNTIEGs5U?si=WYepD32g35rqLdZD
I tried searching it with Shazam but it doesn’t seem to recognize it , it might be a song that was never “registered” by a studio, or maybe is just a really old song and that’s why.
Also, if any of you know of more songs and recommendations like this one, that open up or have intros with funky drums, I’ll like to listen to them, I’ve always enjoy when songs start like that.
Thanks!
