I have SHH on PS3 and PC. My PC is also capable of running Xenia or RPCS3.

Should I play it on:

PC(Unknownproject's Patch), PS3, Xenia or RPCS3 ?

I also have a Xbox one X but don't have the game on Xbox360/one ... but I don't want to buy the game again if one of the above methods I mentioned works...

You know how the SH1 opening bits (as well as RE1 ) have fan made modern updates on youtube? (search it up if u dont know)

Kinda low key wishing for a fan lead remake, much in the spirit of the SH2 Enhanced Edition on PC... instead of an official release. With all the controversy over the SH2R by Konami/Bloober, I'd love a full /complete fan made SH1Remake with modern graphics engine but the spirit of the original honored by those that generate these love letters to the OG.

so the controversial bit is that I think I'd prefer a fan made remake only available in the grey market on PC rather than an official Konami release. Anyone else agree? (coming from someone who mainly plays SH1/2/3/4 on PS hardware)

As tools for generating such content more easily are exponentially increasing, seems like such a project becomes more and more practical.

Nobody would respect the spirit of the OG more than hardcore fans that love it enough to recreate it.

Sorry but I don’t see this face saying the pizza line. Or being kinda cute. Nothing in this world said „murder“ before the end. This new guy looks already broken and like somebody who already did something wrong. He misses heart for me. James had never the most detailed face of course, it was a ps2 game but still, I liked him a lot. His memes too. Don’t see this guy being part of that. He looks too seriously. Maybe that gives the game an even darker tone, but idk if the game needs an even darker tone.

There is some tape in the game, but the tutorial skips a little and I can't find the tv where I use the tape. Anyone knows where's the tv located?

When I moved out of my dad’s house fresh out of high school, I had a PS2 and a copy of Silent Hill 1 with all the original booklets and case which I had left there at the house for maybe a week when I was moving everything in. My brother took a few wrong boxes to donate and they were in it, never to be seen again. It’s been years and that shit still hurts.

I'm sure there are a lot of posts here like this, but I've always wanted to play the Silent Hill games but I only have my pc and I don't own copies of any of them. Is there a certain launcher I have to use, an emulator, is there a website I can buy pc versions from? These are probably stupid questions, but I really want to know the answers. Thank you in advance!

My feelings on everything released thus far in this Silent Hill revival, outside of merch, have been quite mixed. Well, let me put it this way. It's been very mixed to Ascension, as Ascension deserves its own category. I'm remaining optimistic about the remake and I am pulling for Bloober to knock it out of the park. The Short Message was just alright for me. Loved the environments and the Ito creations but didn't care for the story. I appreciate what it was trying to do though.

All this being said.

Townfall is going to be solid at the very least. There is nothing in my mind that would make me think otherwise. Yes, No Code hasn't made much, to begin with and they are an indie studio. Though what they have made is great. When a studio makes a game where you sit at a desk playing a text-based adventure and it manages to scare you by doing the most minimal things. Also the uniqueness of playing as the AI of a space shuttle in Observation. You cant help but wonder what Silent Hill game they are cooking with Annapurna. Who is another company I have tons of faith in. We dont know anything about the game so far. I do know that they have a small but very promising track record.

F is a game that I hardly see anyone here speak bad about. Aside from the fact that NeoBards is developing it. Though as little as we know of this game. Just hearing about the writer behind it has got fans as excited as when PT came out. At least from the people who have explored his other work. I dont see how this couldnt be at least good based on Ryukishi07's involvement. Also kera's artwork is excellent. I get nothing but excitement from this game and Im eager to hear more.

Despite everything thus far. F and Townfall have peaked my interest so far.

I don't think it was THAT bad. Sure, the QTEs are the spawn of satan and should be removed from this game as soon as possible, but overall, it was pretty good. The stomping, the shooting, the hitting with the wooden plank, it looked amazing. Let's just hope that Bloober Team doesn't turn Silent Hill 2 into Silent Hill 2 Homecoming (by that i mean i hope Bloober doesn't orientate towards combat TOO much).

Hey all, recent SH convert here, played 1 last fall and then recently played through 2 and 3. Had loads of fun with em (although I'm still more of a Resident Evil guy :P) and so obviously it seemed logical to jump right into SH4.

...Good lord I hate this game

None of the things I've enjoyed about the series thus far are present, the controls are backwards, the voice acting has gone from stilted but endearing to just plain bad, the enemies suck, the sound design sucks and worst of all, IT'S NOT FUCKING SCARY.

Sorry, just had to get all that out of my system. Now, I'm not really interested in arguing about any of these points, if you think it does all the things I mentioned wonderfully, more power to you, I wish I could be on your side! I've also done enough sleuthing to know that many people think it's supposed to be boring/irritating on purpose, so save it, I don't buy that bs. And if it is true, fuck the devs.

I've got one question and one question only: I just finished the second go around of the subway, haven't started Forest 2 yet and I'm really close to throwing in the towel. Unfortunately, I'm also someone who hates leaving games unfinished, and even though I couldn't give less of a fuck about these characters, I've spent enough time following this story that I do want to see it to the end. I do have to think about myself, though, and this game no joke leaves me more exhausted and irritated than a lot of manual labor jobs I've worked. So, is this game worth seeing through to the end, or am I just gonna end up feeling like a sucker when that last cutscene hits? Needless to say, no spoilers pls.

TL;DR, I fucking hate Silent Hill 4, but I'm over halfway through, so I'm torn on whether I should finish it.
