...did Bill seriously just go completely unpunished? I swear to God I could feel myself starting to think a bit like Clive after that. Chelmey's last line of dialogue seems to imply he'd like to do something, but is unable to do so in the end.
In any case, I loved the game. The underground London plot twist made a lot of sense, while still not being nearly as predictable as Curious Village's twist. The game itself felt way easier than Pandora's Box, which is a bit of a shame to me as I really enjoyed getting my brain fried in that one, but I'm okay with that. It's definitely still my favorite of the original trilogy, everything else about the ending made me tear up a bit, the story kept me hooked all they way through and the puzzles were really fun, not to mention the music is incredible.
I'm gonna continue with the next game later, for now I need a break from puzzles.
https://youtube.com/shorts/AnhcSqk9SgA?si=8sLOhzdBfuwimCVI - Sorry if this is unnecessary, but I don’t want any rant in the comments saying how this joke or I myself is immature or that it isn’t funny because this is literally supposed to be a joke. I know it’s really unnecessary, but I know people here on Reddit take things way too seriously so I just needed to state this
I literally can't solve most of the puzzles moving forward and I feel like it's hindering my game experience. I'm pretty okay at solving puzzles but Curious Village just seems so daunting all the time and I'm tired of being frustrated. I really wanted to get into this game but I'm honestly thinking of putting it down at this point.
I don’t know if anyone remembers this because it’s been six months but I finally got out the second video of this passion project I’m doing! I now have videos on Layton Brothers and PL v. PW. Check it out if you’d like :))
I'm missing Azran Legacy and the crossover, but the latter is definitely too expensive for me to buy, while the former... I'm not really a fan of - I might get it if I stumble on a good deal.
So in one of the trunk episodes of MM, Roland and Lucille talk about some people who came over asking about the ruins of Akbadain (earlier in the teen Layton flashbacks we saw that Lucille got worried about Roland and thus she sent him after him.) According to Roland they also knew Hersh when he was a baby.
Originally I assumed it was Targent but I’m not sure if Leon had rose to the leadership or knew about the switch his sons did at the time. I vaguely remember that Leon had been watching Layton for a while and knew his secret but I don’t know how long it had been going on.
So my second option is it was Descole and Raymond (and possibly his hired men that he had in ED). Descole/Desmond admitted himself that he had been watching Layton’s journey and in contact with Layton’s parents for a long while so I assume he may have kept in contact since Layton got adopted.
What do you guys think?
I hope Luke gets to play a bigger part in nwos. I've always thought both him and Emmy don't really get to be anything more than there. I would have really liked for just a few moments where Luke notices something Layton doesn't, Emmy knows where to find info most townspeople wouldn't because it's in a rougher part of town or something, instead of them just sort of repeating what Layton already figured out.
And with nwos having Luke older, and a respected detective in America, I think it would be the perfect time to give him a bigger role in figuring out the mystery. Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever see Emmy again (as a main stay at least) but if they gain any other companions along the way, I want them to have a more significant role.
I was replaying CV today and I noticed a little dropped plot thread. Immediately after leaving the park, Layton wants to go to the Inn to get a clue he needs to catch the shadowy intruder (Don Paulo)
When he's there, he asks Beatrice for the morning paper, but they've disappeared. Presumably Chelmey/DP took them, but why? What was in the paper? The duo immediately get summoned to Reinhold Manor ight after so the plot line kinda gets dropped
While I briefly dabbled with Curious Village, the first Layton game I've completed is Miracle Mask and I'm currently playing through Azran Legacy (pretty early game, about 5hrs in). I'd heard that the 3DS games were prequels so my thought was to play in chronological order, but now I know that Last Spectre on DS is actually the first game chronologically. I also recently learned that most fans of the franchise recommend playing in release order rather than chronological order, which I obviously missed the boat on. So the question is where do I go from here once I finish Azran Legacy? Maybe backtrack to Last Spectre to finish out the "prequels" then move on to Curious Village & the other 2 DS titles? Or play Curious Village first and play the DS games in release order (finishing with Last Spectre)? I already own all of the DS games, just wondering where I should go next for the best experience.
Also open to opinions on the best version of Layton's Mystery Journey (3DS or Switch). What all does the Switch "Deluxe Edition" entail? I prefer to buy physical and noticed that the Switch version is a bit more expensive than the 3DS version. I also love the visuals and play style of the 3DS games, so wondering if the extras on Switch are worth getting that version instead of should I stick to 3DS?
i recently started playing Professor Layton and the Curious Village on my ds.
it is not the first game of the saga i play, i also played the Last Specter (in italian) and the Miracle Mask (in english)
after starting out, i noticed that while the game might be in italian, the voices were not dubbed in said language.
are the other games in the original trilogy not dubbed either?
Hey everyone, for the longest time, I distinctly remember a specific Puzzle, from what I though was in the curious village, but despite searching for it online, I couldn't find a trace of it.
Did I hallucinate this puzzle, or did it really existed?
It was something like that :
"There's a Lilypad on this pond, every day, it doubles in size. After 10 days, the Lilypad is as large as half of the pond. How many days do you need to wait before the Lilypad take sup the whole pond?"
With the answer being >!11 ofc!<
Hey. I know the way to access the weekly puzzles on the older games are out there but if someone could explain it to me like I’m an idiot, I’d be very grateful. I have the type of router needed with a WEP security key.
The one on the right is Hans Christian Anderson from a gacha game called Fate/Grand Order.
Please Im begging I think I've been offered to room with everyone but her
Idk if anyone made this joke here yet but I couldn't stop thinking about it so I made this
I've played every Layton game and just found this out 🫠
I'm just wondering if anyone else noticed that the hat Luke wears as an adult (in Professor Layton and the Relics Treasure) can be seen on the coat stand in Clark’s study (in Spectre's Call) -or at least it's a very similar hat.
I just think it's sweet especially since Clark is such a family man, Luke wearing his hat is a cute detail that I think is so overlooked
(Posting from the website so i can't upload photos but it's relatively easy to find them online. You can see Luke’s hat as an adult in post pictures that show up when you google him as an adult. Pictures of Clark's study are harder to find but you can see it at 11:14 in this playthrough clip) https://youtu.be/-JFyC12yngc?si=dAJGVxC1y3RkiFTB
that’s it, that’s the post I think it’s really cute tbh
