Hey, just installed Qutebrowser on my Parabola Linux T60. I'm running a fresh OS install with just Xmonad WM. When opening sites like Reddit or YouTube, the sites are broken-ish. I couldn't find any information on that via google search or in parabola wiki.

I haven't tried a different browser yet, but is this qutebrowser related or is Parabola by default blocking ( I'm guessing ) JavaScript?

I installed qutebrowser via pacman, perhaps any missing dependencies?

Hey, I'm new tof ree software, if I install Parabola GNU will everything work well, such as being able to connect to the internet on a PC, not a laptop?

I ask because I heard some distros need special hardware for that, thank you =]!

I'm on a minimal arch installation, using the archinstall script.

The system is as minimal as the script allows, apart for NetworkManager and its dependencies.

I've followed the guide and can't upgrade with this line:

pacman -Suu your-freedom pacman

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)

The package "systemd-libs" apparently breaks dependency with the library "libsystemd.so"

This library is required by dbus, dbus-broker, p11-kit, pcsclite, and utils-linux

Is there anything that can be helped ? If not, there might be a need to update the guide on Parabola's website.

Edit: Solved, installed the package: wireless-regdb

Updated today, wifi broken (athk9 - Atheros). Seems odd as obviously this is the gnu kernel, so would have thought this would be something that wouldn't happen with this card in particular. Modprobe doesn't help.

Anyone else had the same issue? Suggestions?

I need the current version of the Parabola Linux ISO file to be 6.6.7 because my laptop doesn't support previous kernels. Can you release a new ISO file with this kernel version?

I've tried even installing a few other things, and depencies can't be met.

today i tried installing openrc-desktop with pacman but i got some error message that in short displays thats its not found (i have nonsystemd repos enabled), tf happend

I just made an account so i cannot submit a bug report on the main site.

It seems nonsystemd base now requires your-init-freedom but the package is called your-initfreedom, causing upgrades to fail with this error.

I am planning to use Parabola as my Main OS but i am a bit worried because the team is small and i dont know if all security updates are fast enough?

Also i am worried if the openrc version is going to die because there isnt a openrc install iso anymore.

I only see x86_64 on official page and am wondering if there is somewhere I can get the 32 but version

I want to use parabola but I am only seeing systemd live cds on the downloads page. I am aware that I can switch to openrc from systemd but I would rather not go through that hassle. is there anywhere I can get an openrc live cd?

This has been such a horrible experience trying to get Parabola Linux-libre working and so far I've not been able to get networkmanager started. I'm using the openrc version because I couldn't be bothered with systemd again. It says I need dbus, which I have both dbus and dbus-openrc, but there's no init file for openrc to enable. I try nmtui, and all I get is "Could not contact NetworkManager: Could not connect: No such file or directory." I followed the very broken Parabola documentation twice and got the exact same result. I come from Gentoo, and I honestly find that to be easier than Arch based distros like this. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Please help me.

Does Parabola prevent you from installing non-free software? (free as in freedom)

I think my wifi card has a non-free driver which I would have to install in order for my wifi to work, would this be possible?

I know archinstall will install Arch and there is a parabola-install-wizard being developed, but is anyone working on an archinstall fork for Parabola?

Since a working installer does not currently seem to exist, developing parabolainstall seems like the path of least resistance as well as the way to make the installation process as familiar as possible to existing Arch users. Allowing Arch users to reuse their saved configuration files from archinstall would help users install Parabola on their next system.

I am not sure exactly how difficult this would be to develop, but I would imagine it is not many steps beyond renaming all instances of Arch and arch to Parabola and parabola respectively, correcting package names, and correcting repositories.

Not shipping with an installer seems to be a major drawback at this time since Arch does.

When I try to run network manager through rc-service NetworkManager start it all works out, but when I put it in the default runlevel (rc-update add NetworkManager default) it doesn't start at boot. Thank you.

I was checking Parabola's blacklist.txt and realized that CC-BY-NC is considered a non-free license.
I understand that Creative Commons consider it as "less open", but does that makes it non-free?
As far as I understand, even GPL-3 prevents commercial distribution (please correct me if I'm wrong). So why is CC-BY-NC considered as a non-free license?
