Periwinkle Territory
Periwinkle Territory
Movement is limited in this dark, condensed swamp. Once home to the peaceful Forest Green people, it is now a proud territory of the Periwinkle Kingdom. Enduring hardships induced by the Chroman Wars, and recent cataclysmic events which ripped it from the mainland, the Marsh -- now an island -- stands strong. It currently hosts the Headquarters of the Periwinkle Advanced Defense Research Agency. The Governor of the territory, Eliminioa, is rarely seen in public.

"I enthusiastically support the proposed alliance between the sovereign Periwinkle territories of Vermillion Union and Metropolis Daja. As Chroma's 23rd largest importer of Tang and Tang-related products, we, the Midnight Marsh, greatly value our friendship with the Vermillions, and look forward to establishing similar close relations with their new strategic partners from Daja." - Lt. Governor Meshugganah
Dredging, excavation and site clearing have begun in preparation for the construction of the MS-Paint-Art Museum of Chroman History -- the first of its kind to be built anywhere in Chroma. The museum, located on a large tract of unused swamp land adjacent to the College of Art and Design on the campus of the University of Chroma: Midnight Marsh, will house a collection of fine art depicting the most significant events in the remarkable histories of both the Orangered and Periwinkle Kingdoms.
Artwork submissions of MS Paint drawings are now being accepted by PM to: /u/meshugganah, Territorial Lt. Governor and Vice-Chancellor of the UC:MM System. To be accepted, submissions must depict real-life events, not lore. Submissions containing ponies or references to pony-related events will be rejected.
Welcome fellow Periwinkles! Ever since the Marsh was liberated from its Orangered Oppressors during the First Chroman War, Lt. Gov Meshugganah and I, your Governor have been working to pull it from its primitive ancestry into an age of englightenment. Our first order of business was to unify the two conflicting tribes of the area, the Rooalts and the Makos. With the help of third party negotiators, we managed to settle their differences peacefully, if not lay them to rest. Following the Chromaclysm and the utter destruction it left in its wake, we have been rebuilding the Marsh into a technological and research powerhouse.
The Marsh is excellent for citizens who don't wish to be disturbed while they research the secrets of our Chroman world. A ground-breaking university system is in the works, with building contracts being bidded upon at the moment. We welcome, indeed we seek, all you inquistive minds out there, who want to know more.
There are five cities in the Marsh: Charlottestowne, Rooaltsville, Makowin, Old Greenlet, and Academia, which is the capitol. Charlottestowne and old Greenlet serve as the two ports of the land, while Acedemia, the capitol, serves as the official headquarters of the Periwinkle Advanced Defense Research Agency. Rooaltsville and Makowin are the traditional capitols of the two tribes, both rich in cultural heritage and archaelogical opportunities.

In light of the recent rumblings of mother earth below us, I have passed legislation as the Governor of Midnight Marsh that will greatly strengthen the architectural resolve of our grand territory. Effectively immediately, all buildings built within Marsh boundaries and inhabited by one or more people will be required to meet strenuous and extensive building codes which provide for earthquake protection up to an 8.0 Richter scale quake. Additionally, all government buildings and facilities will be required to comply with even more stringent regulations, allowing them to withstand a 9.0 Richter scale quake. Private building upgrades for currently non-compliant buildings will be subsidized by the Marsh treasury, and teams will be sent to inspect all buildings in 60 days. Finally, all buildings are required to have an emergency earthquake evacuation plan, which will minimize loss of life in the event of a powerful earthquake. Thank you for your participation, and my the Holy Light bless our land.
Unfortunatley, there is nothing left to start a new fire, so it looks like its all over.
we'll just be building that spa now shall we?
Using tactics of insurance fraud and numerous pyramid schemes, we have come up with enough money to rebuild the marsh and add luxury resorts, spas and hotels along the marsh, using the rich minerals in the mud to give everyone the health they need!
Also, we are opening several new restaraunts, including Chroma Fried Chicken, Macci D's (I'm vomitin' it) and Pizza à la Chroma!
Come to the marsh today and help us build!
The fire of the Midnight Marsh, so far, has burned 42.8% of the land. At this rate, Midnight Marsh will be consumed by Friday. The levels of CO2 are increasing, making it harder to breath. Because of this, most animals of the marsh has already fled, excluding the aquatic creatures.
Next is the recovery stage. If it were to stop now, Midnight Marsh would be worth saving, and should be saved. However, if the fire doesn't get put out until Tuesday night, the cost of restoring the marsh would be incredibly high.
At this time, the state of Midnight Marsh is in a CODE BLACK. If anyone is still in the marsh, either help the people extinguish the fire, or leave immediately. This is a group effort on both sides, in order to protect and maintain the habitat of Midnight Marsh.
Hurry folks! They're sellin like hot haddocks!
Josh sneaks into a small area of dense thicket. He looks out of the mess near the local tavern, Josh smiles. Josh has been ready for this. Josh lights a fire cracker
pop
There is a murmur about, and a few Periwinkles exit. They have some barbaric guns in hand, they peer around but Josh has hidden too well for their eyes in the night. One looks at the other.
"Well I think that's about it for me tonight, you know you've had enough drinks when you hear pops in the night rather than bumps!"
The other hikes up his trousers and chews what looks to be cud.
"Awlright sir, I'll see ya in th morn'!"
After the first peri's first step Josh stands up with ease and lights another fire cracker. They are unphased and begin to prepare their weapons and run to get cover. Josh Pulls out a lighter and a small bottle of petrol. He dumps a bit of it on the towel of the Molotov cocktail he also brought. The towel is lit and he throws it to get explosive results. The Tavern goes up in flames and the two hill billy peris are certainly dead.
How? They owner must have forgotten to store his last barrel of oil the night before. Oh well, Josh escapes with barely a scratch.
The next morning, Josh is awake in his hut in south Midnight Marsh. He gets up with a yawn and walks to his stable where he has his companions yet to be fed. He walks over and picks up and apple and tosses it to one of his favorites, Hero. He catches it in his mouth and nods appreciatively. Josh is sate for now, he grins and walks back to his house. There is a bowl of cereal and a map of the area waiting for him, wherever his next escapade would take him.
The educational system in Chroma obviously needs some serious fixing, especially on the OR side.
Also, just because something is wet, doesn't mean it can't be on fire.
Josh here again, undisputed leader of this disobedience if you want to call it that.
As governor of Midnight Marsh, I am declaring a state of emergency throughout the territory. Thankfully the marsh is largely uninhabited, so few major population centers are in danger, however I urge the many rural citizens of the Marsh to evacuate ahead of time. Alas, this message comes to late to far too many, who have perished in the relentless fire. More yet have sacrificed themselves to buy time for ordinary Chromans to flee, and bravely prevented the fire's exponential expansion.
To those many territories who are actively helping to quell the fire, including Pervinca, the RoB and NC, I send my deepest thanks. Together I hope that Periwinkle can squash this unnatural fire, and help to rebuild the marsh to it's former glory.
Regarding the seeming impossibility of the fire, investigations are ongoing. I urge any citizen with knowledge of the origin of the fire to contact me at once. Indeed it is your obligation as a citizen to do so. Additionally, it seems that a number of llamas are running amok in the Marsh. To end this problem, I have enlisted the help of Marsh regulars, who are ordered to kill all llamas on sight.
