Danielle's mother is the one who pisses me ALL THE WAY off.

That woman hid her daughter's existence from their child. Raised that child without ever uttering Danielle's name in 17 years. Basically erased her existence.

And now she's supporting that child's relationship with the man who murdered her daughter??? She claims none of them even know what happened that night. How can you NOT challenge this man until he tells you the truth?

That man shot her daughter in the face and left that newborn baby to die. He's still lying about it! And yet, here's the mother basically shrugging her shoulders and saying "welp, might as well move on!"

My mind is blown.

Why is everyone disrespecting Danelle? How is she the one in the shadows? If it wasn't for that Auntie, Danielle would basically be lost to time and everyone would embrace Hatcher like he's some goddamn hero.

Okay you guys so just like the rest of us I felt a sense of rage while watching Jamel’s episode. I watched this episode with my mom and from the beginning she called out that it seemed he was deflective almost? He says he knows that the way he treated Danielle was bad and he made bad decisions, BUT, let me out because I did all of this great stuff.

It’s gross to me because that’s the reform you’re SUPPOSED to be doing while in prison. I don’t want to diminish the work he’s done as I’m sure he’s helped fellow inmates with lesser offenses, but Danielle’s story really hits home for me because there was just no reason for any of this and for his daughter to grow up without either parent.

On another new note for me and maybe some of you, I read some things from Jamel’s website and his wife’s article. Jamel recounts his homophobia stating that he would give gay cell mates the option of going to the hole or being beat up?! His story gets even worse the deeper you dive and I can completely acknowledge his very sad upbringing and I wish him the best in that aspect, but he’s a contributor to the terror in other people’s lives. I believe unfortunately when let out, Jamel will be a repeat offender.

For the past six months I've been watching I Am A Killer. It wasn't until recently that I watched more than one episode at a time, previously I watched only one a day if it was a tv day, because the stories stayed with me, and still do - I guess despite the subject matter it's become addictive. Weird how peoples trauma can be another's entertainment. How sad some of them are and at such a young age many of them were put away with the key thrown off. The abuse that most of them endured. Environment is everything, without a doubt. I'm not a gullible person, but I believed their accounts of abuse. I read one of them was even murdered a few years after the show was aired. I feel like he wasn't portrayed well on the show with the lady he wrote letters to. She was quite demeaning. And then from what I read women wrote him a lot and got mad if he didn't respond to them in the way that they wanted and then proceeded to air their laundry on the net. (I don't know if he was a good or bad guy inside, all I know is he and the others were once young with dreams for their life.)

Anyway, it's worth watching if you believe in redemption. But believe me when I say don't bother making popcorn. You won't have the stomach for it.

I firmly believe in the power of redemption, but I don’t see it in his situation. Not like this. If he genuinely wanted to make amends, he should have done so away from Danielle's family. How dare he reach out to that child or contact the grandparents? He should have apologized and then allowed these individuals to move on with their lives. He took advantaged of the kindness and vulnerability of this family.

And don’t get me started on his wife…

This man is calculating. Using her name like that.. Disgusting.

I haven’t seen every episode yet of this full 5 season series but I’m at least half way through now and dude. This guy has to be worst fucking one yet. I thought some people were bad like the Lindsay girl who strangled her boyfriend to death who she was madly in love with but only knew for 26 days. This show really knows how to save the shock value for the end where you’re like WTF at the end of every episode basically. Also super strange how Lindsay and Robby’s parents are not only cordial but besties. It’s really fucking weird. I feel like they’re using her as a way to push Christian faith more, they kept talking about forgiveness and shit. Like, a stranger murdered your son and admitted it during interrogation, was laughing during interrogation. She’s a piece of work. But Gary Black… man. That dude IS still a danger to society no doubt even in that wheelchair idc. He’s brain rot.

I feel like Ashley should not be sitting in prison right now. What 17 would think their 16 yro boyfriend would be capable of killing the person who raised them? I do believe her that she was scared but also believed he wouldn’t really do it. Maybe she could’ve gotten charged with negligence or some other lesser charge but 30 years in prison when she wasn’t even at the scene of the crime seems quite insane for a 17 yro.

Do you think when released he will slip into an abusive cycle with his now wife? I could see him getting away with as the wife will be embarrassed to admit everyone was right

I just realized; this dude is also on “Evil Lives Here: The Killer Speaks”.

The only difference is that his accomplice (who was a minor at the time if you all recall) speaks!

He basically said that Robert was lying and that there was never a plan to kill anybody.

I just watched this and normally I have an opinion on whether I think someone is crazy/capable of committing the crime/guilty or whatever but for this one I’m really not sure. One thing I did pick up on was how Ashley said that her mom had no problem with her leaving and just took her key and basically told her not to come back. That’s a huge red flag to me. I don’t think a lot of mothers would do that unless the child had a habit of being difficult or rebellious and they were sick of it. She has sisters too, so my guess is that the mom didn’t want her behavior influencing the sisters. Christian definitely did it and he confessed, but I can’t tell if she was in on it. Also, in Christian’s first interview it seemed like he was still going to bat for Ashley and minimized her involvement but in the 2nd interview it seemed like he felt she was a liar. Idk. My thoughts are all over the place with this one. What do y’all think?

“It’s hard when I think about that day (when he fatally stabbed a random loving father/husband) My life should’ve been so much better.” EWWWWW. The ick that just went through my body. YOUR LIFE? Mf you stole a husband, father, etc for ZERO reason. Fucking insane take. I’m not even like 10 mins in yet I don’t think and I’m already sick. That episode with Jamel made me PHYSICALLY SICK. I could not believe he forgot to mention he left his 3 week old baby next to the dead baby mother and girlfriend for 18 hours. And who knows how much longer if the family wouldn’t have been suspicious and gone over to check on her. He’s a POS shit too and I don’t even know where to start with him bc everyone else has dissected him pretty well. Evil, calculated, manipulative.

I've been binge watching all these episodes for the past week and I see a lot of these killers have had a bad upbringing, do you think if they didn't have such bad upbringings that they wouldn't have turned out the person they was? Obviously not all of them because some people are just born evil but with some of them it's like they didn't have a chance from the day they were born

No remorse shown, such a disgusting person, she gives trans people a bad name. Being trans isn't her issue, her issue is being a self centered murderer.

I just finished season 5 and the one thing that really stood out to me is how little remorse all of them had. They barely talk about their victims. And the few times they did, it was usually followed by something about themselves: “It is sad someone died, but MY life is ruined too!” They barely talk about their victims or the families. And they are definitely not saying sorry.

I just finished the Hatcher episode, and oh my gawd, I had to come here to cathartically rant.

That man is one of the most dangerous ones on this show. He is the perfect case study of the dark triad in action. As someone who has some training in therapy, people like him are ones to look out for, because they don't want to part take in therapy to grow and better themselves and have insight into how they hurt others, its all about learning how to make the best of their situation so they can use people further to get what they want eventually.

The man is charming and uses flowery, doting language to get his way. He's used it on his poor daughter so he can have a relationship with her because he wants that. He uses it on Janae, and has purposely seduced her, so that when he eventually leaves prison he'll have a loving wife and home to go to, so he can be served and have his needs met. He would have reached out to her originally and seduced her so he can get her on his side, to reduce his case and get out early. And that seems to be working in his favor.

Danielle's poor family have lost so much and are so vulnerable after what they have been through, he is using them for ego, and exploiting them so he can get an early release and be advanced further in life. They are genuinely believing in him which takes so much heart, empathy and courage after what he has taken from them and how he has hurt them, and he is being predatory and exploitative, using their emotional sensitivity and grief so he can benefit from it. I'm so glad Danielle's aunt could see what he was about, I could feel her rage. Danielle's mother is in such a hard situation having to balance her desire for her daughter to have her biological father figure in her life after losing her mother as a baby, yet handling the trauma, grief and loss she experienced through the loss of her own child by his hand.It's just so complex, complicated and heartbreaking.

The bottom line is this man hasn't changed. He's just machiavellian to pretend he has and play the part whilst it benefits him. He can't use violence to get his way because it would have him put in seg with a longer sentence, but he can use education and words. The way he speaks and writes with the intention of sounding enlightened is his gun now, and it is getting him closer to what he wants to achieve.

But beneath all that he is a cowardly man who abused his lovely, happy, beautiful partner, shot her in the head, and left her to be found whilst he ran away and was intimate with someone, using them as an alibi. In the process, abandoning his beautiful baby girl, leaving her with no mother for the rest of her life, and leaving her crying alone, starving for eighteen hours before that. The fact that this man will be out in less than four years is an injustice and its beyond disgusting. Beautiful Danielle can't have her life with her lovely family and daughter, why should he have any freedom, love or adoration. He is a monster, and thinking about what he will be capable of when he gets out makes my skin feel chilly and enrages me. The key needs to be thrown away. The most dangerous ones in life aren't always the ones with the violent tattoos and scars from when they were in altercations hurting people, but the ones who are handsome, charming and can speak in a really alluring way. There are so many of them in the world, and they can definitely be the most dangerous and deadly.

I hope beautiful Danielle is resting peacefully, my heart aches for her and her family. 💔💕

I have been following this show since it began a few years ago and it has allowed me to reveal to myself that I want to be a chaplain. An advocate, a support, a counsel, an advisor to help those before they end up this way. Perhaps maybe even helping inmates. Once the idea sprung, I haven't been able to get it off of my mind.

The universe sure works in mysterious ways

Jamel: Don't really buy the guy's story; it's too vague, generic, and inconsistent. You can see how uncomfortable he got in the 2nd interview when the point about him sleeping with the other girl the same night was brought up. I'd like to hear more from the guys who allegedly stole from him. His new wife does seem genuine, and I hope she's a good influence on him.

Christian/Ashley: I really liked this episode, because it's like a perfect storm in the worst way. A storyline you'd see in a movie, almost. While the whole thing was Christian's idea, the sentiment is that Ashley was ultimately what it took for the events to go in motion. He wanted out, she wanted to run away. He was mentally unstable from the SA along with the 2nd alleged one, and to me she seems a little slow. I do think there's hope for both of them. One thing that didn't make sense to me was Ashley pleading guilty at her retrial, and then getting THE SAME SENTENCE. Does that not defeat the whole fucking purpose of a retrial?

Higinio: Out of all the killers I've seen in this series, if I had to rank the ones who I feel the most sympathetic for, Higinio would be close to the top. Hearing him retell everything and then hearing the anecdote from his brother, was touching. I truly believe he feels remorse, is less of a threat than most on here to reoffend, and has a good avenue to rehabilitation once he gets out.

Ezdeth: Ooh man, I did not like this person. The fact that she's been denied parole 6 times is not a good look. Everything that comes out of her mouth is an excuse, and the whole transitioning thing feels like just another way for the blame/focus to be shifted. Not even gonna comment on the name "Ezdeth" either. Just....wow.

Rex: This guy is dangerous. He's a maniac. Unhinged. While I'm glad he still maintains contact with his niece, I have this pit in my stomach that when he does get out, he could snap one day. That immediately puts her (and possibly even his brother) at risk. I'm 100% onboard with the mental institution theory.

Mak: I was trying not to laugh out loud when he tried to claim "hate crime" after purposely going to a party on another tribe's land, drunker than a skunk. Then when the other guy described the stuff Mak said while revealing his pocket knife....yeah, he definitely went there looking for trouble. The judge said it best: in his mind, he did absolutely nothing wrong, and he's the victim. Neither of which is true, upon further review.

This is only briefly relevant to Ashley Morrison but having watched another documentary on Netflix earlier today where a woman physically abused her husband infront of their 3 children to the point they became accustomed to it and only got FOUR YEARS for it, even with evidence - how the hell did Ashley get 30 years for her involvement. I know there are different laws dependent where you live but I think it’s about time laws were rewritten by people with actual sense.

.... it's been less than a decade since Rex desired to unalive his entire family 😱😱 and he believes that he's done with therapy and doesn't need medication and refuses to take it....

I need to know if I'm the only person who believes Rex Geoves could be a good dude and become healthier minded and learn a continuity of cuvility if he's monitored and medicated before he's reintroduced to society?

Rex seems to be a good guy and pretty much all humans have worth, we all do in some way, that being said he acknowledges his own fears that he's unsure about himself raging again and reoffending after he's out...

As gingerly as I can put it....

IM AFRAID for all of our safety if left to his own devices and released as things stand the way they do....

I urge you (for your sake your families sake and all of our safety) to reconsider more focused Intensive therapy medication and assisted release before you renter society so you don't fail... It's the only way you'll get out early or get out and be successful IMHO

If he was given 50 years and is eligible for parole at half that time then why at 19 years is able to get parole?

What would it take for your 17-year-old daughter to convince you to allow her boyfriend to all the way move into your home, especially in light of the fact that you have a younger daughter too? Does anybody else find this detail of S05E02 to be insane? What were they thinking--maybe that it would be like that 90s sitcom Roseanne?

Watching this show has shown me just how selfish and dismissive people are. For so many of them all they cared about was how the crime they committed ruined their lives. They act like they're the victim and the victim did them wrong by dying. Even the killer's families and friends act selfish and dismissive. I see why a lot of them get denied bail because they can't pull their heads out of their own azzes and stop playing the victim. This show really disgusts me.

After watching the Kenneth foster episode, (season 1 ep 2) I decided to look him up and see if he did get out (I'm years behind you guys) and I saw that he's actually killed someone since the show whilst still being in jail

Do you think she chose the name from Esdeath from Akame ga Kill! ? In the show this character is a sadist who lacked empathy for people who she deemed weak, was literally a psychopath too.

Also kind of unsettled me that Ezdeth kept referring to Paul as “my victim”

Just binge watched season 5 and something has stuck with me and left me with such a horrible sense of dread.

When Higino comes back a few months later to answer more questions, I noticed something. You only see a glimpse of the police statement but his words seem to be twisted?

It says something along the lines of “no it was empty apart from one bullet” it flashes on the screen for a split second but the person reading it misses the part were higinio was still saying the chamber was empty and has instead made him believe that he knew it wasn’t empty all along.

Did anyone else notice this? I can’t get it out of my brain and I feel really…sad that he’s essentially been gaslit?

Edit: just to add that it seems in the statement he was saying “it was empty but obviously not because of that one bullet”

I’ve been watching a lot of the episodes recently and there’s always the twist of what the killer says happened vs what actually happened. I’m aware that some of these people will try and manipulate the situation / may genuinely misremember it and find it easier to believe their truth etc

However it always seems to be the case that they all leave out hugely important details of what occurred which are later revealed by the detective or family members who highlight inconsistencies. It had me wondering whether part of this is due to editing as a means to create a better story line where it appears two sides of the story are revealed or whether the killers 99.9% of the time are massively lying about the events which unfolded

The only person I recall watching who’s story seemed to be believable even after the detective relayed further details was Jema Donahue from ‘A Mothers Love’ - everyone else seems to have an entirely different story of how their crime played out - any reasons as to why?
