We estimate over 1000 people came through this year. Biggest yet!
A couple things to note that were missing or didn't come through:
After the spider, the hallway had witches hats over bistro lights pointed at photos of witches in old frames.
In the hanging bodies room, the actor was on a break. He just stuck a shovel in the dirt and groaned.
After the pirate room, the TV in the house is showing you live surveillance of yourself. It doesn't come through clearly in the video.
Hope you enjoy!
It was Halloween of 2023, per usual I was getting out of my car and grabbing candy like any other teenager would. Well, I drive to a specific house and knock on the door, a man maybe in his 20-30s answers the door and seems so happy to see me. He tells me that he hadn't had trick or treaters in three years and I was the only person in three years to show up at his house, he gives me candy and I go home. Well, this year I had asked my mom if I could go back to his house to surprise him by showing up for a second year but when we drive by his house his porch light is off, and if you didn't know, most people turn on their porch lights to attract trick or treaters. I was so disappointed when his light was off.
Got some drinks together (those are the second glasses) and we decided to build a haunted gingerbread house. I think it turned out great, a little less candy corn.
For context we missed building this on the actual day hence the post today.
I’ve done detailed pumpkins for the past 20+ years. A couple years ago I decided to start doing styrofoam pumpkins I can put out each year along with the real pumpkins. This year I added Elvira to the collection.
This year I added some things to my house. I built a full on toxic pond in front of the garage and added a whole smoking skeleton and dead biohazard zombie. All of it was painted with glow in the dark paint and I had a fog machine with a hose run through it.
I’m from St. Louis and as a kid during Halloween we had to tell a joke to get candy. When i asked my friends out of state if they did this, they looked at me as if i were crazy. Is this not a normal thing to do???
I find myself still browsing facebook marketplace for animatronics. What about you guys?
Whatcha think?🤔
Had a ton of trick or treaters, and all seemed to dig it.
So I love Halloween and the Holidays around it but it’s lately felt like a dead holiday like we had no Trick’r’Treats, and I think we only saw like three people on the street. I miss the way it was with roving bands of kids.
This annual tradition keeps growing larger every Halloween. Feeling good about how this years turned out.
Left: Boo Brothers (Scooby Doo Meets the Boo Brothers, 1987) Right: Ghost Trio aka Casper’s Uncles (Casper, 1995)
*Note: the Ghost Trio were first introduced in 1945.
My husband and I have decided that when we buy a home (we’ve been renting for almost 5 years, and so we’ve moved a bit) we want to be the house that provides “full-size” candy bars on Halloween.
So, out of curiosity, the house with the full-sized candy bars: how much do you normally spend? Obviously more than the $20 mini sized from Costco, but are we expecting $100? $150?
Pro’s and Con’s of being the “full-size” candy house?
I made 1, my sister made 2, guess which one is mine.
Don’t put them in the landfill where they’ll turn into methane greenhouse gas. Feed the rotten pumpkins to a compost pile, the worms will break them down super quick. 🪱 🍽️ 🎃
