Couple years ago I quit using IMDb to keep up with what I wanted to watch, started using this app. Now I got to move all that stuff back to IMDb.
I also use this app to rent and buy movies/series, then watch it on YouTube... I don't know how I would do that now..
I bought all my many movies from GPM and I recently switched to Apple. What is everyone using to watch GPM on apple products? I tried the YouTube app but they are not in alphabetical order and I am missing titles on there I tried movies anywhere but a lot of movies didn’t move over. Is there any alternatives I have easily over 1000 movies purchased on GPM so it’s a big deal to me
i tried to purchase Nausicaa and it just bought the english audio.
didn't even give me the option to pick the japanese audio.
so bloody frustrating.
i think i will have to purchase everything that needs japanese audio on amazon.com .
Has anyone ever purchased something on Google movies and tv and it played in the wrong audio? I tried to get a refund but they refused even though I didn't watch the movie and it's been less than 7 days
For example, Top Gun just dropped. It's available to buy in 4K everywhere, every digital Store, except Google Play UK. Anyone with just a bit of insight to this? Is it something that might improve one day?
When I ask Google they blame the Studio that publish it. Are their relationships with Studios just extremely poor?
Bonus: Also, existing library HD movies upgrading to 4k has virtually ground to a halt. Fun.
P.S. I understand it's now Google TV. That Platform is chock full of bugs. Cheers.
I've tried putting in tickets with Google but their system is a nightmare.
Several shows I have bought only show up in the app on my phone. They never appear in YouTube on my laptop, or phone, or my smart TV. It makes no sense.
Is there actually a way to get in touch with someone who can FIX these problems instead of going round and round with Google support that has no idea what they're doing?
What We Do In The Shaodows Season 4 - only shows up in the google TV app, nowhere else.
Vikings S6V2 - same problem, purchased but doesn't show up anywhere but the google tv app.
Vikings S6V1 isn't even available to purchase except individual episodes even though the rest of the series is fine - AND it doesn't appear in YouTube.
I recently switched to an iPhone, but i've amassed too large of a collection of Google Play Movies to make the switch to iTunes, but I'm having a hard time locating preorders for movies. The Google TV app, even though it doesn't let you purchase on iOS anyway, doesn't have a preorders section, but the Google TV app on CCWGTV also doesn't have a preorders section. The Browser also doesn't have it. I have to search the titles individually to see them. I'm in Canada, if that makes a difference. Thanks
I've tried buying Mad Max: Fury Road and it said it was the regular version. When I choose HD then press agree to terms and conditions, it says I'm buying the Black and Chrome edition, then the same with the SD option. Why is it doing that?
I have some very sad news "Movies & TV" tab will be gone very soon on Google Play.
(You will be missed "Google Play Movies & TV")
We have a Windows and Mac desktop and want to buy a movie from Google Play. Is there are a quality difference between the 2 OS's when watching a movie on Chrome? How good would the quality be if we watch on Chrome?
I'm interested in purchasing a movie, but I do not want it in 4K as I have no 4K TV. Can I buy it in standard HD for cheaper or is it stuck on Ultra HD?
I have my Google and Microsoft accounts connected to Movies Anywhere, would it show up on Google TV?
I’m trying to watch my google play movies on my ps5. I looked up how to potentially do this. But apparently I’m the only one who’s tried because all I see are answers for the PS4.
I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but when Google Play Movies & TV was replaced by Google TV, a lot seemed to change, not just in the user inferface, but contents price. Previously you had the option to purchase a movie for around $12-18 AUD or get a Trilogy for $30-35, which i found myself purchasing multiple trilogies and collections of my favourite films, because it was cheaper and more convenient than buying them on Bluray discs. However, all collections have been removed from the new store in the app, which in turn has made me hesitant paying for each individual film at $19 a pop. To buy trilogies individually the price has risen to $55-60 and i don't understand why, its literally the same content as before, but for double the price. I also found that I was unable to buy specific movies in 4k because they were region locked, so I'm stuck at Full HD on a 4k HDR TV. These "upgrades" have really halted my library growing any larger and its a bit frustrating.
Hi! Anyone else had this problem?
Bought a movie on Google Play Movies. Shows up in the app on my phone and tablet, however does not show up on my Chromecast with Google TV stating that it's still for sale and if you click on buy it says processing purchase?
Had this with one other movie that took about 5 days before it was in my library on the Chromecast. I've rebooted and everything else possible yet still the same result. This has only started since the last update?
Any ideas?
I have the Google Pixel 6 Pro and enjoying it . However, there seems to be a problem with Google Play movies. If I watch a normal HD movie no problem at all. However, if I try to watch a 4K movie with HDR then it won't play at all just constantly loading. If I watch a 4K movie with no HDR instantly plays. Has anyone else had this problem or any ideas how to sort it? I have cleared the cache, restarted and my internet is definitely fast enough. I have sent feedback to Google but who knows when I'll get a reply.
Google TV is a mess, half of these new movie tiles don't even load (probably because the image doesn't exist), I don't see what was wrong with the normal movie covers anyway. The TV show section literally says "season 1", "season 2" etc rather than the show name. Movie prices are misleading since they're the rental price and everything is cluttered because of the subscription nonsense you can't turn off. It's become a system that encourages you to sign up to all the included services to be able to navigate the app without fear of disappointment.
I don't understand how a company like Google can so successfully make a product go backward, I've always enjoyed having a movie collection, what a mistake it was to trust google with it.
Google Play Movies received a Play Store update to Google TV on 04 October 2021. However, following the update the app is still called Google Play Movies in the app drawer and the UI is still the old one. When I search for Play Movies in the Play Store I'm brought to "Google TV (previously Google Play Movies & TV)", version 4.28.57.
I'm based in Ireland and seeing the same thing on a Pixel 4, Pixel 4a and Pixel 6.
Is anyone else experiencing this, whereby the app has updated to Google TV but the app's name and UI haven't changed?
Has anyone else had the issue in the past week where any TV shows purchased from Google Play as a "Complete Series" collection have now updated when viewing via YouTube and no long have the complete Series option? Youtube still has the individual seasons but any additional episodes that were included in the collection but aren't in the individual seasons are no longer available. One example of this is Battlestar Galactica which is now showing seasons 1-4, however the complete collection also included the pilot miniseries and that has now gone and can't be viewed.
After Google decided to force us to use YouTubes horrible interface for our purchases on smart TVs, this is just an extra kick in the teeth and is definitely making Google Play a less attractive option for purchasing digital movies and TV shows.
Has anyone purchased this set?
The title and thumbnails indicate extended editions, yet the description states theatrical. Google support was unable to assist.
Hoping someone knows - have a very specific issue I'm trying to troubleshoot and am seeing conflicting information to date. I typically run my A/V stack through my Xbox Series X and have a 4K HDR capable TV. BUT, UHD movies purchased on Google Play don't seem to play in 4k. Is 4k playback of Google Play Movies content not available on Xbox? Or am I just running into a rights issue where I'm just unlucky and the specific movies I've chosen as test cases aren't available in UHD on Xbox?
To be clear - I've tested Captain Marvel, Love & Monsters, Birds of Prey, and Avengers: Infinity War thus far. Any direction would be much appreciated!
Accidentally bought two codes. Whoever wants it
It's gone.
Admittedly, I should have a newer device than a Nexus 7 2013.
Be that as it may, I was able to download movies on the thing back in January 2020 no problem.
Going on a flight next week (not by choice). Was planning on bringing a bunch of movies to watch.
Try to download: got a "Couldn't retrieve license (6106)".
Was on a chat with a Google support person for 2 hours, no joy.
Every other app I use lets me download fine.
In the end, no result. My only other device is my work Macbook (can't download Google Play movies to it) and my phone, which isn't exactly the way I wanted to watch Heat, I wanted the medium screen of the Nexus.
Anyone else had this "Couldn't retrieve license" error? Any way around it? I've done the whole:
Clear cache
Clear data
Uninstall updates
Reinstall updates
Remove Google account from the device
Factory reset the device
and none of that has worked.
Is there really no way for me to download my movies? Super frustrating!
