Open the app on my phone or tablet and everything is there. Go to books.google.com and click on my library and it shows me an empty library. Logged out, logged back in, same thing. If I search the book I'm currently reading it will show up and allow me to read it but that seems like the long way around. Anyone else seen this?
Okay, so I bought a lengthy book series that I was able to share just fine. I bought another book to share, but I can't share it with the family library. I've done a fair amount of troubleshooting and haven't found any real answers. I used the same payment method as before. It is by a different author, but i could in no way find any indicator I couldn't share it before I bought it. Google says the details page indicates whether it can be shared or not. However, I scoured every bit of the info page with no further details given. I have a support case open that hasn't updated me in a month.
I know I'm probably missing something, but I just for the life of me can't see what. Basically, how can people tell if a book is able to be shared with the family library or not?
Is the GPB file upload limit 1000 or 2000? I understood that it was 1000, but I have read in some places that it is 2000, for example:
(And that is a Google featured snippet.)
I have just reached the 1000 limit. Does it vary by territory?
I "export" books from Google Play Books. When I attempt to add to my library with Adobe Digital Editions (4.5.11, Win11), I get the error discussed above. It would appear to be coming from Google and only for new books insofar as I can still use an ACSM file to open books I have purchased previously.
Is there any way to get Google Books to read aloud? Voice Over will not work when I get in the app, and I can't seem to make any other reading app (Speechify, Voice Dream) work in Google Play Books.
Any insight as to why this hasn't been added?
I’ve been using the app on my iOS phone and android tablet and can upload/shares books no problem. However, I’m unable to get the reading progress to sync right. Anytime I open a book on android, it asks me if I want to update the progress (as expected). However, after closing out the tablet, I don’t get the same thing on my iOS phone and the book will just open to where I left off on the phone.
Both are connected to the same wifi. Could this be a setting that I’m missing in iOS? I haven’t been able to find anything.
Thanks
Hi all
I want to back up my books onto Google Play Books so I have them on my phone etc while travelling. Google books only accepts files under 100mb and works best with epub format (it does accept pdf but they don't display well at all).
Is there a way on Calibre or something else to set the max file size of under 100mb when bulk converting files? Also is there a way to set it so the converted files all get copied into one folder?
Thanks very much
My wife's Google account won't sync Google play Books and it's causing her to be unable to use the app. Keeps giving the error "couldn't retrieve data from Google play books". This is happening on multiple phones now. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Uploaded few true PDFs, some are my own, and cannot do any highlights. Although, I can do highlights in Adobe.
Converting to epub seems solving the problem, but figures/tables are not appearing clearly in epub.
How I can highlights PDF on google books?
I bought a book, and I can't export it, so I can read it on my e-reader. I was just wondering if there was an easy way to see if the publisher allows exports or not. Looking at book details nothing really stands out to me.
I take lots of highlights on Google Play Books but rarely remember them. Want to revisit them more often but it's difficult to do so from the Google Play Books app.
To solve my own problem, created an app and recently launched it to the App Store.
It can import highlights, show random highlights from all books and show highlights in a widget. This way it helps to read our highlights more frequently and remember the key ideas of the books we've read.
If you like the idea, please checkout the app and try it out. Would love to hear feedbacks and suggestions.

Heya,
Wanted a bit of help with note syncing. So google wants us to re-download a book and create a new note to sync all the notes present to drive. But that is not a viable option. forme as I have a lot of books (like 325 lot)!
I wanted to know if there is a simple and easier way to do this. I rather not spend days behind this.
Hallo everyone.
When copying to the system clipboard some text from the play books app on Android, line returns are missing.
Is there a way to fix that?
Thank you.
Why does Google Books convert pdf to read only when uploading? Is there a way round this. It means I can't highlight text for saving automatically to a Google file for the source book. The pdf can be searched, text highlighting, etc with a conventional pdf reader.
I don't understand why some PDFs upload better than others, they format the text accordingly, chapter info is available at the bottom of the page, definition of words come up upon long gap and everything is indexed while some PDFs just remain , well, PDFs .
I have arc++ not arcvm and the google play books app will not allow me to store downloaded books on the sd card. I have a chromebook pro, and have both enabled storage in chrome settings and enabled the storage permission for the google play books android app.
Oh btw, kindle android app works.
I recently bought an iPad and started reading one of my books on it, but found that instead of turning one page over as it did on my Galaxy Tab, Google Play Books would turn both pages on the screen as if it were one massive page. Does anyone know how to correct this?
Thanks in advance!
So, whenever i open the app, it automatically changes to blue filter, without me even opening a book. I dont have the reading night light turned on, also not the blue filter on my phone. I've looked into the setting several times and never found anything that could fix that.
What can i do? How can i turn off that blue filter?
I need help. For some reason i cant open google books on my pc and its telling me that google books is not available in my account. I remember i could use it in the pastand read there about a year ago.
Anyone has ever seen this error when trying to access the web version of google play books (https://play.google.com/books)? I can't access my purchased books, or my library at all. Other browsers (I tried Firefox and Safari) or computers (I tried Mac and Linux) don't work either.
Only 2 things seem to work, but they don't solve my issue:

I formatted the SD card as internal storage. Where does books go when uploaded? Do they go to shared internal storage or SD card? I appreciate the reply.
EDIT: It works and I have no idea what changed
Hello! I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
I downloaded a text-to-speech app and bought a voice to use for my phone specifically for the purpose of using Google Play Books "Read aloud" feature in a specific voice.
In my text-to-speech settings, it all works fine and I can change the engine to the new app I downloaded. However, when I click "Read aloud" in the book settings, it always reads the book in the same female voice that I do NOT want. In my phone settings, if I change the language from US to UK english, "Read aloud" DOES change the accent, but it never changes to the specific voice I want it to even if I change the engine. Any advice please?
i've tried searching for it on google and reddit, and so far i've found none. there's glassit.co, but i need to pay if i want to track more than 2 pcs of items that have not been tracked yet on the site.
I bought a book on Google Play. However, it cannot be exported. I asked support and it seems that the publisher chose not to allow export of books. I would like to download the book I bought. Is there a way to do this?
I use Read Aloud a lot with text ebooks. Can we start it from the Assistant?
A suggestion just appeared that said "try Read My Book", but that just works for Audiobooks (and just tries to sell me some, sigh). "pause" and "resume" work on the current media stream, which can be the Read Aloud or any of the other streams visible or invisible. The lottery does not spark joy.
Have I missed an obvious trick?
