I have a website that in my town , when you search my service, has been ranked between 3-6 on google maps for 10 years. My website recently got hacked and as soon as it did my website no longer even shows up. I’ve fixed the website but I still don’t rank on google maps. I’ve contacted google and they keep telling me it’s a SEO issue. But I didn’t have a ranking issue before I was hacked. I immediately lost all visibility when I was hacked. It’s like something got flagged at google and hasn’t been unflagged since the site was corrected.

My MyMaps have frequently used icons, such as airport, hotel, restaurant, etc. To create a new MyMaps, I have to locate these icons, one at a time. Is there a way to keep a set of frequently used icons easily accessible?

I am trying to make a MyMaps with the townships of Long Island outlines (for work). When I search Town of Hempstead on google, it'll highlight the town, but when I do it on MyMaps it just gives me a POI. Does anyone know how to either import the outlined towns, or just get them on MyMaps. Thank you

Hello. I extensively use My Maps to design street improvements and railway lines. Having a way to effectively draw a polygon that has the same with everywhere, so basically a line that has been extruded into a polygon, would be hella useful.

Is Google MyMaps "Share Embed in my site" usable in a Reddit Post? If so how?

In some of my Maps, when I click on pins, it gives me a handy Directions feature that allows me to quickly see driving distance between pins. In some of my other Maps, that feature has disappeared. It doesn't appear to be an inaccurate/manual pin issue, as the feature either exists or doesn't exist based on the Map. For Maps where I am seeing the issue, evening pinning a major city using the search bar doesn't result in the Direction feature appearing. Help please!

I came across a worldwide bikepacker who has a google “My maps” on her website for followers to follow along with the progress of her around-the-world bike trip.

I want to do something similar - essentially a map that I can update regularly to show where I’ve been. However, I found you cannot create a “my maps” with iphone or ipad, which are the only two devices I have. Is anyone aware of any workaround or alternative mapping software that I could use?

ps- I’m guessing the bikepacker I’ve followed probably has a laptop that she carries with her.

I'm wondering if I'm ever going to reach a limit of maps created? Or is it only layers that are limited to 10 layers?

I'm considering creating one map for every city I visit, but I'm afraid I'll run into a limit of amount of maps I can create for free.

I want to create a bunch of different My Maps (versus one combined map) and have them all active at once. As of now, it seems like when you pick a new My Map then it hides any Map previously shown and only shows that map.

I'm working on a project where I'm importing data to create points on a Google My Map.
Each point has a pop-out with several fields. I'm using 3-4 under name for each unique point. (See attached.)
I want to have the ability to click on an audio file on each name. Like, and embedded play button.

Right now, I just uploaded a file to google, but the UX is terrible: you have to click on the URL, and then click into the file in a google drive. I want to have one thing to click on and play the file. No navigating away from the map, no having to sign into Google.

Can anyone offer any insights? I really need a solution! I thought I'd found a good preliminary workaround, with the Google map, but unless I can make the audio file more accessible, this won't work.

Also, if anyone has suggestions for a web-based mat platform that would present a good solution, I'd love to hear all about it.

I am located in the United States, and my profile indicates that it's fully optimized. Despite these efforts, when searching for my business on maps, it does not appear. I do not have a pin, which is likely due to being situated in a multi-unit building where our occupancy exceeds half of the space. My performance in search results is generally good, but addressing this map issue could potentially unlock additional opportunities. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions for troubleshooting this matter. How can I ensure my listing is visible on maps? What steps can I take to obtain a pin? Can you no longer hide your username when sharing a Google MyMap? Was this feature removed? I swear there used to be a option to show/hide your username.

I’ve tried every file type with no success. The weird part is that there’s no descriptive issue and correction from Google. I just get an “error occurred” text appear on the I file import screen.

When I share my map to a friend and they click on a saved location, it doesn’t click through to all the info google maps usually has so it’s just the name and nothing else. Is this normal? It would be nice if all the restaurant info and photos was just there? Or am I missing something? Thanks

I have two layers of points on the same map that I'd like to display as separate colors. However, after I physically visit a site, I'd like to change that particular location's color to black.

I'm assuming that I need to set both layers as Individual Styles. However, when I do that, both of the layers default to light blue.

Is there any way to change the color of all of the sites in a layer when the style is set to Individual? I'd like to have one layer blue, one layer red, and then change individual sites to black once I've completed them.
