Hey!
I’m a solopreneur trying to get into cold emailing for outreach and lead generation. I’ve been looking at Apollo.io, but I’m wondering if it’s really enough for what I need.
Has anyone here used Apollo with success or any other platforms for cold emailing? What features do you think are essential? I’d love to hear your thoughts or any recommendations! Thanks a bunch!
I need a new email marketing program for some (I think) very basic needs. I have less than 500 subscribers. I use my email marketing for three use cases:
First, new client onboarding. When a client fills out a form on my website, I want to add them to my client list, then manually mark them (tag, subscribe to list, whatever) as either "not a client" where they would be sent an email referring them to other companies, or "onboard this client" where they would be sent my welcome email. Bonus points if the mailer program can connect to my Calendly and send a reminder email before their scheduled appointment.
Second, job applicants. Basically the same idea, applicants fill out a form on my website, they're added to my applicant list, I tag them as "no" (they get a rejection email) or "yes" (they get a next step email), then they would have a second manual "yes/no" split where the yeses are sent an email to schedule and interview, and bonus points if the program can send a reminder email before the interview.
Finally, monthly newsletters to all active clients. I want to be able to create a template for said newsletters and have them look nice (pretty standard). This would not go out to "Not Clients" or "Applicants", but I've never used segmentation beyond that.
I would love some basic stats, open rates, link click rates, and I would love to see if an individual person has opened an email or clicked a link. I would love an iPhone app where I can "tag" new subscribers from my phone to get them sent my initial emails while I am on the go (I work in the field a lot). I would also love a way to manually re-send an email if a client doesn't receive it. Maybe that won't be the big deal it currently is for me, but about 1/3rd of the emails I currently send are never received, even in spam folders, even to email addresses that have white-listed me, even to email addresses who have emailed me or been emailed by me in the past (ie my mother's email that I use as a test account).
There are so many options, and most of them want to tell me how great they are at drip marketing and e-commerce, neither of which I need or care about, and I honestly can't tell if the things I need are just so basic that they don't deserve mentioning or what...
I have a client who wants to use their brand fonts on their emails. I use Klaviyo and their exact fonts aren’t in the system so we would need to purchase the fonts first. my understanding was that no matter what font you use some email carriers will just use default fonts? would love any advice here and what it best practice! thanks!
I live in a more or less big city in Europe. I'm trying to find companies around my area to sell a web development service for them.
I thought about googling them but all I will get will be a phone number, and I am interested in collecting their emails.
Do you have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
I'm brainstorming ideas for new flows and I'm curious what others have done. Maybe when a local sports team wins? Half birthday? What is your favorite flow?
I'm diving deeper into list segmentation to try to enhance my campaign success.
What segmentation strategies are you implementing? Are you using behavioral cues, demographic info, purchase history, or something more innovative? Any specific tools or tactics that have really moved the needle for your campaigns?
Semi new to the email marketing space and open to all advice. :)
Hello, fellow email marketers! I'm a professional marketer focused mainly on lead generation through social media. I'm currently exploring a legitimate email marketing tool to resell on a commission basis.
Previously, I tried reselling a white-label tool with the new name, MailOnePro, but I wasn't successful due to technical issues with the original product.
That's why I'm seeking your advice to help me find a reliable option.
All suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
Hey everyone! I'm curious to know what apps, websites, or tools you rely on to check whether emails on your list are valid, receiving, or even active. How do you ensure your list is clean and reduce bounce rates?
Do you have any specific platforms or methods that you trust? I’d love to hear what’s been working for you – or what hasn’t! Drop your recommendations below. 👇
Hey. I have a legal practice and I am trying to create a newsletter for it. I’ve used Mailchimp in the past but I’m finding it a little awkward for what I’m trying to do here. Are there any alternatives you have experience with?
What are some of your favorite resources (blogs, events, courses, email subscriptions etc) to stay up to date on email marketing trends, evolving best practices, latest technology , etc?
I always look at really good emails, hubspot, marketo, salesforce Ben.
First off, the humble brag. I have an email list that has a 40% open rate, a 3% click-through rate. It used to be 7-10% which is why there is an issue.
The client feels the list name is the reason the click-through rate is dropping and wants to change the name. Instead of using the organization name, Smiths Bar Events, which has an email address of events@smaithsbar.tla, they want to change the sending name to Thirsty Beer Night and leave the email address the same. Obviously I am using a placeholder name to describe the client. Also, they know nothing about email. However, they are positive it's all in the name.
We never get marked as spam. All of the email addresses on our list are verified, I am vigilant at removing bounces, unread, and unsubscribes to keep the list healthy. The domain name is more than 10 years old.
My concern is changing the name would cause people to unsubscribe or mark it as spam, unraveling all of the hard work. I wanted to ask others what they might do.
Does anyone else use an element code, some sort of unique line of copy placed at the bottom of the footer that identifies the specific email campaign? I believe that's the right term but every time I mention it to coworkers they claim they never heard of this. Is there another name for this?
We send a lot of emails with multiple versions for each campaign so as a marketer, I need a quick way to identify an email. Any best practices or recommendations are appreciated!
I'm running lead ads on FB and I think I need a CRM to send emails to the leads immediately. Kindly recommend a free CRM if possible or a cheap one.
I've looked at their tutorials but they seem to skip right over anything about the section that has the links I've underlined.
There doesn't seem to be any way to delete that section.
I'm not expert in landing pages, but I think you want to keep people focused and don't want them to navigate away.
Is this only fixable on a paid version?
I'm also having issues authorizing my account and with setup and am wondering if I should bail to ConvertKit.
I am just starting. Appreciate any advice.
Hi all! I'm looking for a tool which has the functionality to be able to add an existing e-mail thread to another campaign. For example, let's say I already have an e-mail thread with someone that I have been following-up with manually for several weeks. Now, I want to start automating my follow-up e-mails to them until they respond, within the same thread.
Basically, I want to add an existing e-mail thread to another campaign/sequence where the follow-up e-mails that are sent to the recipient are automated and sent every 5 days (for example), instead of me having to manually send a follow-up e-mail every time. I know this is possible with a new sequence/campaign, but I want to know if it is possible to enable this functionality with an existing e-mail thread/conversation. I use Gmail, with Apollo and Yesware for reminders.
Hope I can find a tool that solves this problem - tired of wasting hours every week manually following-up with old conversations and e-mail threads!
Is there a way to export an unlimited number of leads from Apollo.io?
I have a dilemma.
When I’m creating new emails, I like to just go ahead and start building them in my email tool. I find it faster than trying to either design or draft copy in a separate tool before building. I visualize better this way and am really fast at building.
The problem with that is there is usually no easy way to collaborate on design/copy in my email software. So I have to rely on screenshots of the email and Slack threads for the team to collaborate.
I’ve tried an alternative of designing the email in Figma first, which allows great collaboration, but it takes me twice as long because I have to then build it afterwards in my email tool, and then usually go through a review of that build anyway.
Am I the only one taking screenshots of my emails?? Do you all build last?
Hey all. I've always struggled to get more than a .8% subscribe rate on my main email popup. I've tried everything; discounts, giveaways, free guides, no offer at all. I'm at a complete loss. My overall website has a pretty poor convesion rate as well, and I'm sure the two are connected. All of my traffic is organic from blogs, products, and collections. Any insight is appreciated
Looking for ESP recommendations for a startup media company specialising in B2B newsletters, starting from zero.
Aware of MailerLite, Mailjet, Sailthru, SendGrid and dozens of others but finding it quite difficult to compare features or see under the hood without signing up to trial every one of them. Also know of ConvertKit, Beehiiv and Substack but these all seem to be tailored towards content creators and influencers more than actual media companies and I just can’t see any enterprise level organisations being built on these platforms, though I may be totally wrong on that.
What are your opinions of the various platforms? How many have you used and which would you recommend/not recommend given my stated objectives.
My main considerations are:
And anything else you’d consider relevant info.
Thanks in advance.
Do you guys maintain an email calendar so that other people can see what's upcoming over the next month, few months, etc? And if so, what do you use to do that? For me, it feels difficult because a lot sort of comes up last minute, but curious how many of you do this as I know there is often demand for it.
I'm starting up a RSVP website. Some of my clients will want the invites sent by email. What is the best and formal way to send an RSVP link by emails to guests? I expect anywhere from 5-20 emails and it would be infrequent, so no mass mailer option is needed.
Hi community!
Reaching out to see if anyone has experienced similar issues with Klaviyo and can offer some advice. We recently created a communication intended for our B2B customers. Initially, we sent it as a campaign to over 100 emails.
However, we now need to send it manually, one by one, as new customers request it (this is not something we can set up as a flow since the information is asked for personally).
The problem we're facing is that our B2B clients are not receiving these emails. From our end (myself and my boss), we're receiving them, but our clients, including accounts with the same domain as our Klaviyo account (who use Outlook), are not.
We've contacted Klaviyo, and they assured us that the emails have a status code 250, indicating no bounces or blocks. We've also had recipients check their spam/junk and promotional folders, but the emails are still not appearing.
To send the emails. we go into the profiles, view the messages we send to the profile, and from the option at the top right corner we send a new message.
We also attempted to send it as a test email from the campaign panel, but neither method worked.
Does anyone know what might be causing this issue? Should we consider switching from Klaviyo to a different email provider? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help!
Mods, you finally listened to the wishes of the majority and banned “cold email” posts, but you’re not actually enforcing the ban.
There’s been a huge uptick in the number of “cold email” posts recently. Can we get some clarity on what your process is for enforcement? It’s getting out of hand.
I just got an email from Aweber saying my monthly rate will essentially double starting in 2025. I've been meaning to clean up/ween down my list anyway, but is there anywhere I can find the full price options for 2025?
Hi all. I'm not a pro email marketer. Just a travel agent.
My list is very old, and I know most of the emails may be dead. Still, with just a few customers I did a huge volume of business, from that list. So much so, I dod not use it again.
My own email I've had for 20+ years, so I know a percentage may still be 'active', e.g., 10%, whatever. I'm fine with only having that to start.
I've ready a dozen or so threads on list verifying companies recommended. I've Googled them all. Prices for verifying/cleaning 50k vary from $15.00 - $1300.00!
I don't even know that I trust any of these places.
All I want is to have this list validated in terms of actual real deliverable addresses. The rest get tossed. Is there a good service that does this?
Next, I will send a note to this list asking if they'd like to continue hearing from me (re-engagement). I've read countless posts on 'how-to'. Seems like nobody does anything but write anymore!
Anyways, I wish there was an actual service that could not only help 'warm-up' my email account, but also help me not only send out that first 're-engagement' email in small daily or several times a day small mailings (staggering) and ALSO help me make that email such that I could get them to re-opt-back-in.
I've read about 20 articles about offering.value, coupons, etc. My clients fly on private jets and don't care about a $50 discount, or my book!
I do think they'd subscribe if I wrote about doing cabin inspections of the bigger players' jets, talk about mitigating MX and AOG issues (when planes people charter have problems, how I can help them), etc.
Anyone have any vendor ideas to help me get started? I've had two of three clients recently die. I need to get new business going. I also want to sell cruises and hotels. Thanks.
My setup is email through Mailchimp, with a custom domain and email setup through GoDaddy. I tried to integrate Sparkloop but they are claiming it won’t work.
Has anyone been able to integrate Sparkloop into a setup like this? Alternatively, what are some other tools I can use similar to Sparkloop to grow?
Thanks!
Myself and two other brands are doing a collaboration and want to have a wait list sign up for the product. We all have separate websites and all use different ESPs but we want for people to sign up to the wait list and be added to all three of our newsletters (obviously that will be stated so people know before they sign up). I feel like I’ve signed up for courses or webinars and been added to multiple newsletters but I don’t know how to do that. I have Klaviyo, one uses Shopify emails, and one uses seguno.
We typically use Zoho Campaigns for marketing automation (very similar to a mailchimp) to send one-to-many emails to our database of 5,000 verified B2B contacts. These emails are generally well received with. High open rate, low bounce rate and low unsubscribe rate. I had a sales rep ask if he could copy and paste a personalized email via Outlook to around 200 contacts he’s been in personal contact with in the last year, outside of Zoho campaigns… so it comes across as highly personalized. The email is time sensitive as it has to do with how our product had a positive impact on those affected by recent Hurricanes. Our Director of IT has alluded to this approach of individual bulk emails via Outlook (as opposed to Zoho) could have a negative impact on our domain becoming blacklisted. Can anyone provide any insight on this? Is sending 100-200 individual emails with the same content at risk for a SPAM listing?
I get a ton of marketing emails, most of which, I am not even interested in but subscribe, as an email marketer myself, to see what others are doing. I have noticed in recent months, the absence of Preview Text in some clients and was curious about this. Is this a trend or something intentional, or is this something tech related and perhaps a setting that is enabled or disabled?
