What should seems like an easy thing to do has me stumped. I spoke with 3 different Verizon people for 45 minutes (including one that says she's a Disney + specialist). The final answer from Verizon is that there is no way to upgrade my Verizon Disney bundle to include Hulu + no ads. Is this correct? Because I read on Reddit that some people have been able to do it.
Was looking through the movies yesterday and noticed “Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas” says upgrade in the corner. Same with some live sports. It lets me watch them just fine. Is it saying that those shows and movies are an upgrade from the previous version?
Does anybody know why I'm getting ads on my Disney movies? I've paid for premium and I'm not watching Hulu shows but they are showing me 2-3 minutes of unskippable ads before starting my Disney branded movie... I'm literally hovering over the unsubscribe button, does anyone else have this problem? I just signed up this month.
Why is the app so horrible? I have Netflix,HBO, Prime Video and Disney plus. The later is the only one that doesn't work as a floating window.
I prefer to watch series and what else while doing something else on the phone, why the f don't they allow screenshot, they ain't no bank or password manager. Just black it out like Netflix, hbo and prime video. It's really annoying.
Plus, then the episode ends I have to literally reopen de app in full screen to select next episode.
What kind of messed up UI and UX they got goin on
Anyone watch this cute little Holiday short yet?
I thought it was stunning and feel-good but also emotional.
Thorougly enjoyed it, only wish it were longer!
Did they remove I Am Groot, Season1?
I know they combined the individual episodes into one series, but when I look at I Am Groot now on Disney+, I only can access Season 2...
What is your favourite moment from Zenimation? It's my all time favourite Disney+ original series, and I want to know what your favourite moments are from episodes you love.
I was on the “change subscription” page and saw at the bottom it says “Extra Member pricing varies by plan. Please refer to the next page for Extra Member pricing for the plan you select.”
I would be interested in adding this to my current bundle, but it won’t let me through “to the next page” unless I select a completely different plan. Anyone know a workaround?
I’ve been doing this for over 10 years (dvd viewing). When the weather is cool, I pop in and play both Fantasia and Fantasia 2000. It’s the absolute perfect movies for the time and season. It’s Disney magic at it’s absolute finest
Are fern and her cubs real bears Or cgi? Im asking about after the cubs are born and they are all in the wilderness running around…the bears look fake. thanks
I just finished to chat with the customer service and it's impossible to cancel the annual subscription (actually 119,99€) and get a partial refund.
My situation is that i payed the last subscription at the end of may 2024 (so it's less than 6 months now) and i asked if it's possible to cancel the subscription for personal financial issues.
I asked that, considering a monthly sub of 13,99€ (84€ avg for 6 months) i would accept also the minimum of 35€ of refund to cancel it now.
The answer is that it would be possible (the cancellation + refund) only withing the first 24hours after the renew...
This is a scam.
I'm passing a not good family financial time, i have kids and i would have subscribed again when i would be again able to afford this kind of service. But now I'll never subscribe again to this service, never ever again.
I know marvel shows started releasing every Friday then it moved it Wednesday midnight now 8pm/6 pacific, has Star Wars released their shows on Tuesday night I think Asoka did I can’t remember!
Hi guys, for Christmas I really want to buy my father a 6 or 9 month membership for disney plus. What’s the best way to go about this? I can only see that there is an option to gift a 12 month membership but not a 6 or 9 month one.
Thanks
I recently bought Disney+ for the first time, using it on Chrome on a MacBook, and have been having this issue where one of two things happens:
The less annoying version where the 'next episode' button comes up a minute or two before the show has finished and then vanishes by the time she show is actually done. For some reason it takes about five mouse clicks to get the video progress bar and play/pause/next episode buttons to appear which is a pain.
The more annoying thing that it sometimes does is that it minimises the show and comes up with the big 'next episode' and 'see all episode' buttons while the show is still playing in a teeny tiny window. If I click back onto the show, it skips right to the end.
I can't believe I finally shelled out for Disney and its genuinely this bad. These aren't even the only issues! The subtitles are misspelled/wrong so often, and every time it skips to a new episode it exists my browser out of full-screen mode. Is it just not designed to be watched on laptops or something?
It can be something like Girl meets world or I didn't do it.
I want to watch some fun and wholesome Christmas movies. I hate the ones that are all drama, talking, boring... Thanks 😊
Tell me your favorite ones. Could be old or new movies.
Hello, I subscribed to watch the last season of What we do in the shadows but it doesn't have it (the Greek Disney+) and now to not lose my subscription are there any good movies or mystery series to watch? I'm not interested in superheroes or Wolverine etc
Whenever this movie is brought up in conversations, everyone always tends to talk about the ending where Shadow reunites with Peter. Don’t get me wrong, it is super sweet and chokes me up every time. The voice actor for Shadow (Don Ameche) does an amazing job and with this being one of his final film roles, it is a WONDERFUL swan song.
On rewatch though, Sassy was the real MVP for me. Not only is Sally Fields hilarious and the acting from the cat AMAZING (seriously, all three animals were incredibly well-trained, but you have to give extra props to the cat because cats are typically way harder to train than dogs).
Even outside of the voice acting and training, she is a GREAT character who not only pulls her own weight, but who is way more capable/independent/brave/and clever than anyone tends to give her credit for. The trio literally might not have survived if not for her, but I think most people just remember her for being bratty (or sassy), complaining, and making things difficult, but that really sells her character short.
Yes, she does tend to complain quite a bit, and has moments of entitlement, but when push comes to shove, she is as loyal as any dog. It was because of her that Chance and Shadow were able to eat because of her talent for catching fish. She rescued Chance and Shadow from the animal shelter and was able to track down Chance and Shadow to reunite with them after falling into the river.
I think another thing that stands out and makes me really root for Sassy is the fact that she is the smallest animal within the trio and probably naturally has the least amount of survival skills. Yeah, certain cat attributes can be viewed as an advantage, but whereas Chance and Shadow grew up playing and roughhouses and such, Sassy seemed to be just a simple house cat. Yet, she made it through this “incredible journey”.
Honestly too, another reason I really sympathize with Sassy’s character is the family’s reaction to seeing Sassy survived. Obviously, Hope was elated to see her again and their reunion was sweet (and funny with the iconic line “Sweetheart, Sassy can’t breathe” but the parents have almost no reaction (especially compared to Chance and Shadow). I mean, it’s kind of funny commentary to imply that because of the reputation cats have of being jerks to everyone except “their person” and/or “whoever is feeding them”
But Sassy honestly deserves better.
Accordingly to Disney it is in fact a Christmas movie..let us be done with this debate forever #diehardisachristmasmovie
I’m by no means an audiophile but is anyone else having a problem with audio on this doc? The music is way to loud and the subjects audio is too quite. I got maybe 20 minutes in and had to turn something else on which sounded just fine.
Watched this last night cause my girlfriend asked if we could! I remember my mom used to love this movie when I was a kid and would always bring it up. But I don’t remember ever actually watching it! So we watched it last night and it WOW it’s bad. Didn’t expect it to be as bad as it was I’m ngl. My girlfriend liked it though and that’s all that really matters to me. But how was the movie perceived when it came out? Did people think this was good? I was 5 when this came out so I wouldn’t know.
James Cameron once again invites viewers to the magical world of Pandora, delivering a spectacular spectacle that raises the bar for modern science fiction cinema. Avatar: The Way of Water is not just a continuation of the 2009 story but an expansion of the universe, captivating with its scale and emotional depth.
Plot and Themes
The story takes us back to Pandora, where Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) are trying to live peacefully with their family. Their tranquility is disrupted by the return of humans seeking to dominate the planet. This time, the story explores new areas of Pandora—primarily the underwater world inhabited by the Metkayina tribe. The ecological themes and critique of imperialism central to the first film remain crucial but take on new dimensions, focusing on humanity’s relationship with oceans and their ecosystems.
While the plot is simple and at times predictable, the film’s strength lies in its emotional core. Themes of family, loyalty, and sacrifice are woven into dynamic events, allowing viewers to form a strong connection with the characters. The relationships within the Sully family, their conflicts, and their triumphs give the story a deeply human element.
Visuals
Avatar: The Way of Water is a visual masterpiece. Cameron and his team used cutting-edge technology to create Pandora’s underwater world, which is breathtaking. Details such as the play of light, realistic animations of marine creatures, and the way water becomes almost a living character are a testament to the creators’ technical prowess. This is a film that must be experienced in 3D—every scene feels almost tangible.
James Horner’s music (with support from Simon Franglen) complements the visual spectacle, creating an atmosphere of magic and danger. The soundtrack perfectly aligns with the rhythm of the action and the emotions of the characters.
Acting
The cast delivers convincing performances. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana once again demonstrate their charisma, but it’s the younger generation of actors—playing Jake and Neytiri’s children—that brings freshness and energy to the film. Kate Winslet, as the leader of the Metkayina tribe, commands attention with her charisma and intensity, though her role is relatively underdeveloped.
Flaws
Despite its many strengths, Avatar: The Way of Water has some weaker points. The story, while emotional, sometimes feels formulaic and repetitive compared to the first film. The runtime (over three hours) can be exhausting, especially for viewers expecting a faster pace. Some supporting characters, while interesting, don’t get enough screen time to fully develop their arcs.
Conclusion
Avatar: The Way of Water is an impressive spectacle that dazzles visually and emotionally. While it doesn’t break new ground narratively, it makes up for it with the extraordinary world of Pandora and the depth of its interpersonal (or rather, inter-Na’vi) relationships. This is a film best experienced on the big screen, ideally in 3D, to fully appreciate its majestic beauty.
